How to Get It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BestBuy usually releases cards every other Thursday. I bought mine online at 9:30 AM CST on May 27th. That means there's high likelihood they'll add stock on June 10th. Anytime during regular business hours. It's worth the wait. BestBuy sells at MSRP and their checkout process is bot-proof, so this site is great if you want to avoid those annoying scalpers and bulk-purchases who horde all the inventory. When you see the yellow, "Add to Cart" button, click it and DO NOT refresh the page. Wait until it either lets you add to cart or prompts you to click it again. Check out as fast as possible. Have your phone and email open and ready so you can verify your purchase. Make sure your address and payment methods are saved beforehand. This card is 849.99. This is an amazing price for a 3080 - it's the MSRP for this EVGA product. For consumers, BestBuy is your BestHope.

EVGA made great cards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.EVGA made the best cards. Mine even survived 3k hours of New World the GPU killer. Cards still going strong with a small overclock and some water cooling in 2024.

Very little difference between Ultra, XC, & Black
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The RTX 3080 as a whole is one heck of a card that smashes 1080P, is great for 1440P, and can do 4K 60+ pretty much in every game. My issue with this card in particular is that there is little performance gain between the top of the line XC Ultra and the Ultra and Black Edition since there is only has a meager 45MHz boost clock advantage for the Ultra. Actually the only thing that separates the XC version from the Black Edition is a metal backplate and all cards use the same exact cooler. While the XC cards all have a three fan setup the cooler in my opinion is a tad meager especially compared to the RTX 2000 XC Ultra lineup. My XC3 Ultra tops out around 77 degrees at 1080P ultra which isn't bad, but in comparison my RTX 3090 FE tops out at a meager 66 degrees. If NVIDIA 3000 Founders cards are a work of art since they are almost 100% built of metal, the EVGA XC cards in comparison feel cheap with their plastic build and cheesy red fish lips accents. Regardless EVGA tends to offers some of the more affordable cards with lower entry prices and in my opinion have the best customer service and have a transferable warranty.

Really Fast. Undervolting Recommended
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know much about the specifications and numbers for computer stuff. All I know is that this card is really fast. Bought this card to use for Virtual Reality Gaming, and to make digital Art(Overkill I know...) for my small business, and to possibly someday get back into Machine Learning Dev. So the only things that I've tested so far that can actually bring this card to its knees (25-30 fps) is are these "Adult" Rated Simulator called Virt-a-Mate and also another Simulator called Mirage when you play them both in Virtual Reality on the Valve Index. The 3D rendering and physics is so realistic on these simulators when you turn them to max settings... and VR requires such high definition, that not even the RTX 3090 can run these games at high frame rates. I suggest that you use a program called MSI Afterburner to Undervolt your 3080 so that it will run at a lower temperature which will increase the lifespan of this card, possibly increase boost clocks and duration and is totally safe unlike overclocking. Who knows if this pattern of GPU shortages will last into the future so you want your gear to last. Your results will vary, but I get a stable undervolt at 875mV testing on the GPU destroying Virt-a-Mate simulator in VR and it actually runs smoother so that's great. So in summary, it's a fast card. If you don't use VR or a 4k screen, it's unnecessary. Don't abuse your card by overclocking it... Just undervolt it. And you will hopefully have this Expensive card for a long time... If you can find it in the first place.

Decent, runs a bit hot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Temps run a bit hot. I had to adjust the fan curve pretty aggressively to get it to run at an acceptable temp, but the obvious trade off is noise. I also underclocked slightly. Before fan curve, it would frequently hit 83-84C in Cyberpunk. Maybe not super hot all things considered, but it caused my m.2 with heat sink to hit temps higher than manufacturer recommendation. Idle temps around 55-60C. Performance is solid, though. With almost all settings on max (motion blur off, RTX set to medium) my FPS generally hovers around 100 with the range generally being 80-110. Compared to my 2070 Super when I had settings at the Digital Foundry recommendations, I've gotten an increase of 30-40 FPS.

I love this card
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This card will make your dog love you more everyone at school will think you are the bees knees! In all seriousness this card is the best in the series of EVGA's graphic card line up and when you are able to purchase or experience one you'll see what this thing is capable of. The thermals run a little warm so you can add some extra fans to introduce cold air into the system some more and you'll have an easy time overclocking for gaming and producing.
