I love the story line. Wonderful action and acting.

Headed by strong performances from Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikandor, "Ex Machina" delves past its facade of metal and wires delving into a deeper tale of growth and vulnerability. While EM may rely heavily on exploring ideas and the limitations of the human condition, its special effects (somewhat subdued by flasher sci-fi films) still shine through and benefit from the Blu-ray transfer. And while this may sound like a criticism, the visuals bring about a refined style, helping to focus not only on the mechanics of directors Alex Garland's female lead but works to push past the superficial and into the heart of this surprisingly exploratory work. A must see for Sci-fi fans, EM will not only impress fans of the genre but others (who may not consider themselves Sci-fi fans) will find depth and substance in EM's universal and resonant themes.

Great product for the price; delivery was very fast

"Ex Machina" is a terminology that essentially implies when what was a machine may now be sentient. Just because it does not breath, eat, or bleed in the same manner as biological life, does not necessarily mean it does not have the fundamental right to survive. Very simple film, minus the effects given Ava. Only 4 characters really appear in the film, minus the chopper pilot and the co-workers at the beginning of the film. Only two settings in the film. The rest of the film is left to the concept. At an early fetus' life, is abortion essentially killing a human? Similarly, if a machine in it's early rendition can think for itself, no matter how primitive it may be, is dismantling it essentially mechanical abortion? Guage your decisions and justify the outcome of the character in the spectacular ending. Someday, someone may have to face these similar questions.

This is movie that is developed on dialog. It will make us think about IA and some of the implications of unbridled egos mixed with technology. If your taste in movies is the mind numbing blowing up as many cars and shooting up everything in sight, this movie is not for you. Some movies are so shallow you can figured out how the movie ends in the first 20 minutes, this is not one of those movies. Never would have guessed how it ends. The visual efforts are superb Academy awards winner. The 4K UHD and ATMOS are excellent. Have watched it several times like it better each time.

My wife and I are super geeks and when faced with the decision of watching the latest popular tv or trying to find a B flick, we will go for the movie 9/10 times. We didn't see this movie in the theatre and actually bought it sight unseen. Just the vibe of the trailer seemed right up our alley. This movie knocked it out of the park. The blu ray transfer is gorgeous and even though most of the movie is set indoors at a lab facility, the visuals are stunning. This especially holds true for the tasteful imagery of Ava, who has some CGI integrated into a masterful body suit. The intellectual side of this film leaves you pondering everything you've learned about the characters by the time you get to the end. A MUST SEE for sci fi lovers, tech geeks and those that just imagine a day when the robots will destroy us all.

WHAT I LIKED Movies like this are deep thinking, put the phone down don't text anyone because the dialogue is just as important as the main attraction. We have a situation of who am I, am I in control or is the robot in control, or is the A.I in control? Who is testing who and who is the smarter one? Who planned the final event? The movie is filled with questions that make it worthy of watching several times and still not know the answer. But who cares if you know the answer, it is not important. What is important is the interaction between the characters, and what is happening between them. This movie should be a classic like 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and A.I Artificial Intelligence 2001 and the 1973 classic West World., This was just a simply awesome movie taken from my blog tvmediajunkie.blogspot.com

Ex Machina is definitely one of the best science fiction films presented to audiences in recent years. For fans looking for relief from the deluge of superhero/comic book based movies, the film looks at the nature of artificial intelligence and the scientists who hope to harness it. Oscar Isaac (Inside LLewyn Davis) plays the brilliant recluse scientist who invites a programming prospect (Domhnall Gleason) to his house/lab to help assess his latest robotic work, a decidedly female synthetic named Ava, played by Alicia Vikander (assisted by a great FX dept). The plot poses some thought provoking questions about AI, but the script also keeps a high level of tension as human motives and emotions are called into play. Great acting and an oscar-nominated script. Very satisfying
