Avoid like the plague it is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gunplay is better than FO3, but the story itself is still weaker than FO2 or even FO1. Its also ruined by having a voice protagonist and forced introduction story meaning there is little to no way to roleplay a character. A lot of its problems are not going to be able to be fixed with mods, akin to Morrowind.

very boring game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game wasnt anything like it appeared on the cover it was much slower and way more boring then suggested and doesnt save often enough so you have very long periods of relapse if you happen to die while playing.

A Poor Follow-Up to Two Great Games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot wrong with Fallout 4. The main story is boring and generic, the open world is flat and fairly lifeless compared to New Vegas, the characters aren't unique or interesting, and while the visuals can be good at times, the old engine is really showing its age. Most of this doesn't matter too much, however. It's more about how the game plays and feels, and in comparison to its two predecessors in the Fallout franchise, it doesn't play or feel very good at all. It's just not much of a cohesive experience. Not really worth the time.

Good game? Who knows?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 6 month old affordably priced computer that has run everything else I've thrown at it, but it won't run Fall Out 4. My recommendation is buy the console version.

Starts slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it would be a great rpg game. It's my first fallout game so I can't really get into it like that. It starts out real slow and looking for things is a pain.

Same old same old
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you never played a fallout game, it will great for you. Fallout 4 is the same game as Fallout 3.

Fallout 4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game so I didn't have to spend hours downloading it from Steam. Surprise! The installation DVD was only 1 quarter of the install...so I had to go online to download the rest. Why even by the DVD if it's got to be downloaded anyway? Very disappointing. The game itself isn't the problem.

A huge step ahead in world building and immersion
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most amazing thing about Fallout 4 is that it still feels like Fallout 3, the fallout world in general, and yet is so much better than before. The intro story is fun and not the same vault dweller rehash, The immersion through rendering is meticulous. There is so much to see, and there are so many well stitched assets as your run through the world. Everything has been polished and brought to a next gen level. If you have a PC and a 970 or higher card this game gets even more amazing as well. I use two 970 strix cards in SLI and it runs flawlessly. The AI and ability to see and shoot in 3-4 stories in and out is great. The animations of things you can open and do, little icons that dance and die when things happen are awesome. The new abilities to mod and fix make more sense now as if there is finally enough ram and rendering power to bring a better, more realized fallout together. Have fun with it, just go out there and explore.

dont even try to run this on an underpowered CPU
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sure this game is great, but apparently my computer that runs just about any other game, online or otherwise, CANNOT run this game. Looks like I'm returning this and getting the PS4 version.

Graphics are disappointing; still worthwhile
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, to get it out of the way: Yeah, the graphics are yucky. I honestly sometimes have a hard time just looking at it. I'm running this on max settings on my PC and playing on a 34-in monitor, and it's just...ugh. I feel like there are PS3 games out there that look better than this. Super polygon-y with really ugly textures and a really obvious grunge filter laid on top of everything. That being said, I knew going into this that this isn't Metal Gear Solid V or The Witcher. Bethesda's open-world games have always focused more on the amazing scope of the world and less on graphics. And if you buy the PC version (HIGHLY recommended over the console versions) you'll probably be able to download some awesome graphics-upgrade mods in like, a couple weeks after it's released. Aaaanyways, this IS a great game. The story is fun. The dialog is not as well-written as something like Mass Effect, but there are some interesting characters. There are some nice improvements from the previous games, but nothing totally groundbreaking. If you can though, buy on PC. The mods are already improving the game tremendously, and it's going to take a year before mods are even opened up to Xbox, and even longer for PS4. Will you be playing Fallout 4 in a year? Probably not. So if you can, take advantage of the mods as soon as you can. They are going to improve the game tremendously, just like Skyrim.

Too much junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too many things have to happen to move on. Waste of time in single player. Too many gizmos, pick up everything, instruction pop up very briefly and no way to get them to come back for clarification. After 4 hours, I'm done. Did not enjoy it at all

Bought it, but don't have it, and can't play it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sure it's a great game, as was fallout 3. I bought this from Bestbuy, thinking I would have a CD with the game on it, instead I get a CD with Steam on it, and I have to download the game when I don't have internet. After I found a way to download it, it took 2 weeks to download, and I still haven't played it as it crashes to desktop when loading. I won't buy Bethesda games anymore.

Must Have!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I have spent about 5 or so hours in the game and it is amazing! From the interesting story to the ability to build up settlements I love it all. Yes the graphics aren't amazing, but they aren't bad either, bugs do pop up here and there but nothing major and it is to be expected from Bethesda and neither of these detract from the gameplay. Some people have complained about the shooting in the game and I actually enjoy it and enjoy the difficulty with no aim assist, it isn't bad, but definitely isn't like destiny. This game is great and I highly recommend it to any Bethesda or RPG fans in general since it is a great game and with the added settlements it can also be sort of a town simulator.

Worth more than the sum of its parts.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fallout 3 & New Vegas are better than this. There, I said it, real controversial, I know, I'm painting a target on myself here. Anyways, this is still a great game. Just don't expect it to blow you out of the water with varied dialogue choices or personal world building. I'm also just now realizing the irony of the latter, because you can literally build your own world with an albeit limited settlement system. If you're going to buy this game, do yourself a favor & at least get the PC version because the modding community has already addressed some of the vanilla release's issues, ranging from questionable game design to straight up crashes & bugs.
