Fantastic Beasts leaves you wondering how a guy with such little attention to detail ever got a wand. Newt is not heroic or competent. He's a great improviser. It's what happens when you release academics into the field when they expect to get the same results as a controlled experiment and find out that the real world doesn't work like that. Intriguing characters and way more violent than your average PotterFare. An interesting experiment that escaped from the lab, with mixed results.

I think we all want more movies and stories with Harry and the gang, but this was a good compromise. Same world, but different characters and story. Enjoyed it.

The movie did not meet my expectations of a movie from JK Rowling. While being a quality film with above average 3D effects, the movie could have been more compelling.

This movie is a great start to a new series. I like seeing the back story of the older characters.
