Don't compare this to the Harry Potter series otherwise you will be disappointed. Plain and simple. If you take it as a stand alone move, which it should be, the movie is great. Its when you compare it to Harry Potter that you have problems because this movie simply sets up the world, it hasn't dove into the depths of the story it can and will tell. Give it a shot and you won't be sorry

If you enjoyed any of the Harry Potter series of films, then you will enjoy this one as well. The 3d effect is mostly depth with minimal pop out effects, however this suits the film nicely and adds a nice dimensionality to it. Audio is superb. With a nice home theater setup this bluray experience is top notch. Video is crisp and clean with only a minimal darkness due to 3d glasses.

If you like the Harry Potter movies then you will probably enjoy this movie. Fantastic Beasts takes place in the U.S.A. and you are introduced to the magical world in this country. The Blu-ray provides great video but occasionally I had trouble hearing what was being said. Most of that was probably due to accents. If you enjoy sorcery and strange creatures this movie is for you.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a fantasy adventure that turned out to be much better than I anticipated. The video is of pristine quality that is free of video related artifacts. I preferred the 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD sound over the 5.1 channel mix. This disk will make a perfect 4k disk to use as a reference disk to show off your 4k system to family and friends.

My daughter and I were pretty excited to see this film having been big fans of the Harry Potter series. We both enjoyed the movie but nowhere near as much as the original series. Hopefully as the films move forward and tie into the Potter movies they will get even better. It's worth checking out once as there are some pretty cool special effects and creatures in the film.

I'll start off by saying this, the movie itself was decent and had its moments. It can be quite enjoyable to fans of the Harry Potter franchise. The 4K blu-ray version of the movie really shines through however. I would say it is the definitive way to watch this and most other movies. The HDR and high resolution go hand-in-hand to produce a very cinematic experience.

The film itself is fine enough. The character Jacob steals the show. As for a 4k presentation, this is leaps and bounds better than any stream you will get and the Atmos mix is lovely with a lot of movement between the channels.

This was a good movie. It was a little confusing and disconnected, but the visuals were great. I recommend this if you were going to see the next movie in the sequence. You don't need to read any books or watch any of the Harry Potter movies to enjoy this new offering. Based on a book referenced in the Potter series and written by J.K. Rowling, this story takes place in NY decades before Potter was born. The Blu-ray provides a terrific transfer of the HD source material and loads of great behind the scenes extras.

Not quite as good as the original Potter series, but the mystical theory is always fun to entertain. Love the movie, but you MUST see it in 3D! I have always had to order my 3D movies from Amazon... until now! I had this and another movie requested, yet it never came available. Best Buy sold it to me for the same price (or less) and got it to me faster!

Fantastic Beasts steelbook has a package that rivals the best packaging there is. 4K, Blu Ray, Digital etc. this package has it all! The movie looks phenomenal on 4k and blu ray. The movie is a solid Potteresque effort-Eddie Redmayne knocks it out of the park-as always-the plot needs a shot of B12 now and then but apprises itself well for the most part.

I miss Harry Potter and i was hoping the fantastic beasts series would help with that and unfortunately it falls a bit short. It's a slow moving story with little action and a very annoying main character. I'm hanging in there in hopes the the next two movies are better. If you are a Harry potter can it's still a must see.

Only have it a week, easy setup, only problem I'm having is that it keeps saying I have no HDMI connection. not sure what that means yet. everything seems to be working fine. Need to do some research. Otherwise no other problems, video's are playing, music is playing, even put on an old harry potter game and it played great. So far great computer.

3D is excellent. Good and sometimes surprising performances from a fine group of character actors. This is true from top down (primaries to supporting and extra) My only complaint was with the packaging: Placement of adhesive price stickers ruins the appearance of the card stock sleeve. However, for some, this marketing flaw will not matter.

I liked this movie but am always disappointed with the digital copies that are not redeemable on iTunes. I try to get all my digital copies on iTunes and have even been know to purchase the iTunes copy even after purchasing the physical blu-ray media. I know, weird.... but with my Apple TV it is much more convenient . Still, the movie is great.

This was a much-anticipated movie for all fans of Harry Potter. There are some really interesting scenes, and indeed many fantastic beasts. It is a little slow in places, and the pace was a little uneven, but overall it is a very entertaining movie, although it doesn't grab you the way most of the Potter films did.

We missed getting to the movies to see this film and usually watch them in 3D. We watched the none 3d version because our glasses for our 3D TV wouldn't work. Later we found out the batteries were dead. Got new batteries and watched it again in 3D. It was like watching a new movie as the 3D effects made a great difference in picture viewing.

As a standalone movie, it still works pretty well, but it was definitely more enjoyable with some understanding of the Harry Potter movies. It sort of has the same sense of wonder and discovery that the first Potter movie had, where you don't quite know what's going to happen, even if you know the answer will ultimately be "magic".

I liked this movie a lot, I am not a huge fan of the Harry Potter movies (only seen2 or 3 of them) but I wanted to see this for all the special effects with the beast's. It did not dissapoint! Although it did start off a little slow, once going was an enjoyable movie :) Of course if you are a Harry Potter fan you're gonna love it!!

If you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll love all the Easter eggs mentioned throughout the movie. If you're new to the stories of Harry Potter, this would be a good way to start! The acting, visuals, and story of this movie are all enjoyable, but leave one wanting just a bit more... Which will come in the already anticipated sequels.
