I personally thought this movie was a lot of fun. I'm not the worlds biggest...or moderate Harry Potter fan but this is more Doctor Who does Harry Potter. I have been told there will be more movies after this one, so I am a bit excited about that. I enjoyed that this wasn't as depressingly dark as the HP movies, some nice light hearted movement, it wasn't a "just kill me or get to the point" slow type movie either. I do believe it definitely earns it's PG-13 rating as it has some subject matter that is not for small children, but some darker things that might not be age appropriate for kids who are younger.

Enjoyed the movie very much. High quality and nice packaging.

Wonderful 3D presentation. If you enjoyed the H. P. series you will love this one too! Much better 3D than the last two H.P. movies and although Warners didn't include the Atmos soundtrack on the 3D, the DTS 5.1 HD MA soundtrack captures all the action admirably. What the heck is the story with that Warners?

Love the way this part of the series starts. Would recommend.

We enjoyed watching this movie, very entertaining to watch

I'm a Harry Potter NERD and love everything about it. When I found out they were creating the Fantastic Beasts films, I wasn't quite sure if they would live up to the hype of the original books or films - but I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed the film so much and watch it over and over again. I finally caved and was able to snag a copy of the DVD on a great sale at Best Buy, which made it even better. I'd suggest any Harry Potter fanatic to be sure and catch these films.

I would normally catch a movie like this in theaters. Having missed it last November due to the high volume of Fantastic Oscar bait movies, I finally picked up this 3D copy of a very good and surprisingly funny story in the World where Harry Potter and lord Voldemort will one day fight to the death. I was surprised at how funny this movie is. The vfx are superb but in a year of very real looking/talking animals from the Jungle Book, the side story in the Star Wars universe, Rogue One, and a half dozen other magnificently and painstakingly crafted movies, this one felt short just slightly. Still, we'll see these characters again in no less than 3 more movies. Well done J.K. Rowling, director David Yates and a Warner Bros. for continuing to churn out stories in this fantastical and magical world in which we love spending a few hours every few years.

I recently purchased the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. This is a really great movie, serving as a prequel to the Harry Potter series of books and movies. Eddie Redmayne is terrific as Newt Scamander, and I really liked Katherine Waterston Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein. Alison Sudol was a scene stealer as Queen Goldstein in her feature film debut. Also, watch for a big time cameo reveal near the end of the movie. No spoilers here! The 3D is very good throughout the movie, and as a big fan of the increasingly hard-to-find format, I was very happy to buy this version of the combo pack. Don't make the mistake of waiting on this one. Too many 3D releases are becoming hard, if not impossible to find in the United States. I highly recommend Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on 3D Blu-ray.

I'll be honest... my expectations were not too high going into this. In fact, I actually missed this on the big screen. But I decided to give it a chance and purchase it to add to our Harry Potter collection. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised with how much fun this movie is. It really is a whole new story with very few references to the Harry Potter series. If you skipped if out of skepticism, just give it a chance. The casting, overall, was excellent and I think it will be fun to see where they take this series next. Although, I don't think we need 4 more films... maybe 1 or 2 more...

As a continuation from author JK Rowling into the magical, mystical world of Harry Potter, this volume brings magic to the U.S. Set in the 1920's, our young hero comes to America with a mission...one that is not revealed until much later in the movie. However, he gets caught up in a tangled mess with the local US magician magistrates, a factory worker, and a zealot that is trying to rid America of magic and magicians. Although the beginning may be a little slow, the movie wraps ups nicely and leaves the door open to more adventures from JK and her magical world! I highly recommend this movie.

Entertaining film that can stand alone as it's own story.

Okay, let me say, huge Harry Potter fan. Waited in line for books 4-7 finished each one in less than 24 hours. I don't mean any disrespect to the potter series, however. This is what a wizard movie should be. Harry Potter knows like 4 spells and they use them very sparingly through all 8 movies. This was a fantastic flip, spells flying, enchanted items left and right, great cast, is leery of tie in's without being a clone of the Harry series. People actually used magic in a fun and exciting way consistently through the movie and you get a fun look at the American wizarding world too.

Good origin story. Enjoyed the humor and fantasy aspects.

Many people were disappointed with this film because they were expecting another Harry Potter. This isn't Harry Potter, it is a prequel to the Harry Potter series and does have a link to the Harry Potter series. Unfortunately Star Wars has soiled the term prequel, but Fantastic Beasts did a far superior job than Lucas did in reinvigorating the Harry Potter franchise. After finishing the film, I started re-watching the series to see how it connects. It doesn't have quite the magic Harry Potter has, but it is wonderful getting more of the history to the Harry Potter universe.
