    Amazing Movie!

This movie turned out amazing! Perfect for Harry Potter fans or anyone just wanting to watch a good movie! For those who don't know, this movie has to do with Harry Potter's "world" but it does not directly relate to him. Fantastic beasts by newt scamander was a book Harry was required to get for his first year at hogwarts. However the movie expands on that by mentioning albus dumbledore and grindewald, giving the impression that during the time Newt wrote this book was a historical event in Harry potters world. Hope that helps! :)

I was not sure where "Beasts" was headed at the start of the movie. I had heard very little about the movie. I knew about the "Harry Potter" lineage but little else. A little Harry Potter background will prove useful but is not required to enjoy this movie. "Beasts" is a little slow at the beginning as various story lines develop but after the story is set the movie builds at a nice pace. To see "Beasts" in 4K HDR is a treat for the eyes. This is a wonderful, enjoyable film. Great character development! I hope the make a sequel.

II did not have the opportunity to watch the movie in 3D at the cinema but found the movie to be magical and as fantastic as the The Harry Potter series was at the beginning - the wonder and excitement of a new adventure! Considering the magical and dark under tones of the story, the movie had an element of inosence that completely engrossed the inner child in me (not appropriate for children under 7 - in my opinion). Cinematography is spectacular in its 2d version. I hope to add more to this as soon as I watch the 3D version.

Being a huge fan of the Harry Potter movies it was great to go back and visit the magical world of J.K. Rowling!! The actors are top notch! Eddy Redmayne is perfect as Newt and my personal favorite Alison Sudol as Queenie. The special effects are top notch and the creatures are front and center. I'm really glad I went with the 3D bluray version as it adds so much depth and some of the fun creatures pop right out of the screen. I can't wait to see the next installment in the series and see where Joe Rowling takes us next.

We wanted to see this movie at the theatre, but due to our schedules, somehow never got around to it. We ended up getting the 3D blu-ray at Best buy, and it has some of the Best 3D effects Ever!!! Not just of the eye-popping "Coming at You" sort, either, but throughout the film, subtly enhancing the appearance of the entire story. On top of it, the story, acting, and casting is great too. Production values are very high. This is a more-than-ample prequel introducing the world that will eventually contain Harry Potter.

From beginning to end the music carried the meter of the mood. One felt part of 1926, as if Magic were the Steampunk of today. Unknown by most of the Muggles but the rare few endured a very special privilege of seeing the rest of the world. Good and Bad. Don't miss this movie as you will see it again and again, each time finding new bits and pieces to mull over. The characters are wonderful together. Intelligently written, with humor and the goal of saving rare, magical creatures. This movie has heart! RY

Saw it in theaters in IMAX 3D and it looks great at home... wish they would bundle the 3D disc with the 4K disc for those that have the option (very few movies are bundling 3D (when available) into the 4K sets, despite often including a BR and sometimes DVD copy). Good start to a "new" franchise, although I hope it doesn't become bloated like the Hobbit did, which tried to stretch out a single book into 3 movies with varying degrees of success (whereas the original LOTR movies were one movie per book).

From the writer of Harry Potter comes an amazing new storyline dealing with the mystical. This is a more adult version that touches upon aspects not encountered with Harry Potter till the end. NY is the setting, pre-great depression, and with it a new array of characters. All aspects of this production excel. NY is amazingly detailed. The score sets the tone with a reverence to the genre, with heart and emotion. I can only hope that the film has done well enough to expect a sequel. Highly recommended.

I am glad that J.K. Rowling has decided to expand the world of Harry Potter and done it in a way that connects but doesn't interfere with the established story or timeline. This movie is a fun ride and gives insight into not only the past of the Potter World but also into how other cultures (The Americans) deal with Witches vs. Muggles. It also starts to flesh out stories that were hinted at in the books but never actually spoken about such as the war a century before Voldemort emerged.

Unfortunately, I never found the time to see the movie in the theatre. However, I'm was determined to see it once it was released on blu-ray. I purchased the 3D version of the movie and glad I did. In 3D the story explodes onto the screen and some of the screens are incredible. My old 3D HD TV failed a few weeks ago and I was determined to purchase another 3D TV but this time in 4K. I only hope some day they offer 4K blu-rays in 3D. I can only imagine the effect. I highly recommend this movie.

This is the first movie in the Harry Potter universe that is centered in a country other than England. The setting is New York a bit before Harry gets his invitation to Hogwarts. I found the characters interesting and the contrast between the Ministry in the U.S. and the U.K. well done with enough differences to highlight the different approaches to integrating (or not) with non-magical folks. Overall good character development and an interesting story line made this a very enjoyable movie.

This movie is such a fun continuation of the Harry Potter movies! I liked that it had a brand new story line and new characters, while still mixing in familiar themes from the other movies. The movie does have a few darker themes in it, but overall I'd say it is more kid-friendly than the last few Harry Potter movies. I think most kids would love all of the fun creatures scattered throughout the movie! I would recommend this to anyone who isn't ready to give up the wizarding world just yet!

Fantastic Beasts had a tough job. It had to expand on the Harry Potter universe while also standing on its own. And it does a great job of doing it. Performances are great and the story is magical. I haven't felt this amazed since I watched the first Harry Potter movie. You don't even have to be a fan of the series to get into it. However if you are a fan, then there are many winks and nods that you'll pick up on. Overall it's definitely a great film and I can't wait for the sequels.

Great addition to the Harry Potter Universe. I was somewhat apprehensive about this Wizarding World prequel story; but was hooked after only a few minutes. Seeing this side of the Wizarding World is a refreshing new addition to the growing WW realm. Beautiful cinematography, solid story and wonderful acting. Even if you're not a die-hard fan of the Wizarding World you will be able to appreciate this movie. Looking forward to see where JK Rowling is going to take this story next!

The outer box said I was getting the Bu-Ray 3D and the regular Blu-Ray. Got home and slid the case out of the outer box/sleeve and it was the Blu-Ray and DVD combo instead. Looked at my receipt and it said that I had bought the Blu-Ray/DVD combo. Very strange, so pay attention as this wasn't Best Buy's fault. This was a manufacturing mistake. I don't have a 3D TV, so I didn't return it. Only bought this one because it was on sale for the same price as the Blu-Ray / DVD combo.

JK Rowling did it again! After Harry Potter's success, she wrote this prequel to the Harry Potter series, hopefully turning into another Wizardry Wonder! This time set in the US, a suitcase of magical creatures escaping is the beginning of this visusally stunning imaginary tale in appealing 3D. Lighter in tone, with some comical characters, it is suitable for a wide range of audience and clearly sets up for a next episode. I am already looking forward to the next installment.

I had not heard much about this movie before I bought it, but I am a fan of the Harry Potter series. This film builds on the background of the story of the Harry Potter universe that is presented in the books that takes place when Dumbeldor was younger. The film itself looks amazing and there are some strong performances presented here. The only issue I have is the pacing of the film is too fast, but that might be do to the company not knowing if they were going to make more films in this story line. It is a good movie, and if you are a Harry Potter fan, then it is a no brainer to get it, other than that, I would recommend it is a rent or wait for it on Netflix.

I was uncertain how I'd like this movie after having read some reviews and hearing what some friends thought, but I went in watching this movie knowing it wasn't going to be another Harry Potter and actually really enjoyed it (some people apparently couldn't let the Harry Potter series go and enjoy a new story taking place in a different time period). The creatures were spectacular and I thought the story was good. It's left open ended for at least one more sequel too!

Didnt see it in theatres and so bought it just cause I own all the other Harry Potters. Strange thing about this entire series is you can be a mediocre entry in the series (arguably the weakest?) and still be a completely respectable film with a rather high Rotten Tomatoes score as this one does. This film is very wise to fill out the wizarding world that Harry Potter didn't even bother with (do wizards exist outside of like France, Britain and wherever Durmstrang is?) Oh good wizarding exists in America! Good to see proper adults go at it too and not kids. The period setting is quite a nice change. Decent special features. A good A/V mix. Good buy.

This is a pre-Harry Potter movie connected to the magical world of Harry Potter. It is set a number of years before the Harry Potter movies in New York City. The star is on a mission to return a Fantastic Beast to it's home in Arizona, but runs into a problem when some of his Fantastic Beasts escape from his suitcase. He has to deal with a bad wizard as it is gathering up his loose Fantastic Beasts. If you liked the Harry Potter movies, you should like this one.
