This film brought the witches and wizards of New York into a movie, all those fans of the Harry Potter series will love this picture, also certain key sayings from the Potter films are explained in this movie which helps to understand the whole franchise of films. I can't wait until the next one is released.

Admittedly, we love the Harry Potter movies in this house, but this stands on it's own. The viewer doesn't need to know anything about Harry Potter. It stays pretty light hearted, and there's not a lot of violence or language. Some of the beasts might scare a younger child, so keep that in mind.

If you are hoping for another Harry Potter, you will be let down. This is nowhere close to that level of entertainment.

Fantastic Beasts was action packed & featured lots of special effects & laughs. It reminded me of the first couple of Harry Potter movies, before the stories got too dark. Eddie Redmayne was perfect in his role. The whole cast was great. A perfect movie for the whole family. I hope a sequel will be made!

I would just say right up front that this is a great film. Like most fantasy films, this was somewhat slow to develop, but once I understood the gist of the story, I couldn't stop watching. Luckily, I had drinks and snacks prepared beforehand, because I couldn't stop watching until it was over. Good film.

I saw this movie in theater with my son and he has eagerly awaited the BD release. My two older kids grew up with the Harry Potter movies, and this movie created a new interest in my 10 year old son now. We like the new release movies that come bundled with digital copies that we can use on our iPads.

This move is just incredible! That's really all I have to say about this movie. If your a Harry Potter fan, you already know this. If you've never seen the movies or read the books, you don't need to know anything about Harry Potter to watch this (though It would be so much better if you did!)

It was an okay movie. I had a hard time understanding what the main character was saying. Speech wasn't very clear.

Lived up to J.K. Rowlings story line. The color and sound was excellent. The story line moved very nicely, did not drag had a great pace to it. Stayed true to the spirit of Harry Potter, also had a great surprise to the very end of it. You will have to see it because I am not telling. Highly recommended.

Wanted to see this because Harry Potter fan & heard it was good. Definitely wanted to see it before 2nd beast movie.

The disc itself is well-mastered and looks great in 3D. The movie is not as engaging and lore-immersive as the HP series, but Rowling's brilliance shines through in a few deeply affecting moments and characters. It is undeniably a popcorn film, but one that benefits from more heart by far than most.

Overall, I felt this was a good movie. Definitely one the whole family can watch. My only negative comment would be that the main character Newt seems to mumble his lines at times, and quickly at that, making his dialogue hard to understand. I personally hate subtitles, but felt compelled to use them so I didn't miss what was being said. Again, the movie was entertaining and in the "Harry Potter" theme. Loved the new creatures.

I was a little skeptical about this movie before I saw it, but once I did, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It fits right in with the Harry Potter universe and doesn't feel out of place. I love the era it takes place in as well as the casting . I'm looking forward to future installments.

I was pleasantly surprised about the wonderful story and characters in this film. This story continued the battle between good and evil in the magical world. There is sadness, love, humor, fright and spectacular illusions. I marveled at the unique animals! I am looking forward to the next episode....

I was skeptical about this movie at first. I didn’t think anything without the original trio of wizards would be any good. However, this movie actually surprised me. It was a good story and it captured the atmosphere of the other 7 films. Now I can’t wait for the Crimes of Grendalwald.

I bought this movie for my kids to see. I watched the movie with them and enjoyed the movie. The video and audio on the blue ray was outstanding, reference quality. I watched it in 3D and would have to rate it as the best 3D presentation I have ever seen. I highly recommend the blue ray and 3D version.

I thought the movie was entertaining especially for any Potter fans looking to explore the origins of several characters mentioned and shown in prior movies and books. Hoping the next film which this setup well is even better and gets deeper into the Dumbledore and Grindelwald story origins.

This was one of my favorite theatrical releases in the last couple months of 2016. It doesn't come loaded with the baggage of a beloved character of storyline, so JK Rowling was free to write a story that was intended originally and primarily for the big screen--that helped a lot--and a cast of stellar actors brought it to life. I went expecting a good movie, and ended up seeing a favorite, so the decision to buy was easy.

As the magical world kicks off it's new franchise, it makes you wonder a little where they are going with it. This movie is a lot of fun, but the lead actor can be difficult to understand at times. The movie tells a good story but does seem to jump around a bit. The sisters add a lot to the story with each of their very different personalities. I'll be looking forward to the next installment and see where they take us next.
