I hadn't seen Field of Dreams in very many years and the new 4k UHD bluray gave me a great excuse to get around to watching it again. Although I found the 4K image to be plagued by a high degree of film grain (par for the course with many movies made in it's era, I guess), the color, brightness, texture were all quite good. And the movie was as wonderful and moving as I remembered it. Time has not diminished it's power to touch people. I watched it with a few friends (one of which had, amazingly, never seen it before!) and we all loved it. This film, along with Dances with Wolves, are without a doubt Kevin Costner's two very finest films in my book. Nobody in the room was without a case of watery while eyes watching the incredibly beautiful and emotionally moving ending to this film. I've seen movies that make people cry from grief and sadness, but this is one of the rare few examples of cinema that make people cry from a happy feeling that life is beautiful beyond compare. If you want to see a movie that makes you feel for a time that all is very right with the world, I couldn't recommend a better example than the classic Field of Dreams.

Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his corn field tell him, "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue, Ray seeks out a reclusive author to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field. This is one of Cosner's best work to date after No Way Out (1987) and features James Earl Jones as the man with the answers.

The new 4k steelbook of this 1989 classic is GORGEOUS! Hits a home run over the original artwork. The new 4K remaster breathes new life into the film but still maintains aspects of the original. The grain is still there, so film is not razor sharp. The HDR unfortunately tends to darken the image a bit but its not too terrible. The audio from the original blu ray (DTS-HD) is replaced with two upgraded mixes, DTS X and DTS- X Master Audio 7.0. The film has aged very well and deserves a space in anyone's collection

It’s an 80’s movie that allows fantasy to exist without trying to explain it. I miss that. I love the optimism of the film and the energy of the cast. Beautifully shot , the colors are vibrant and the images hold strong detail . Not sure if you have to double dip but if you don’t own it, go the 4k route. The sound didn’t leave much of an impression.

The Blu-ray had a special feature on how the cornfield where this was filmed is now a place where families can come (for free) to play catch or an actual game - the result is just like the movie: family relationships are restored, healed, and grow deeper. The documentary made watching the film even better.

Such a good movie and the picture quality was surprisingly good on the digital copy that came with the movie. Pretty awesome we watched it just before it was announced the White Sox are actually playing there next season!

A great movie with a great message. I love sports movies that aren’t the typical “come from behind to win.” This one is entertaining & thought provoking. They sure could have improved the sound quality however.

Great movie for a great price. And so happy that it is the steelbook edition. One of Kevin Costner's best films. I love James Earl Jones in this movie!! I would definitely recommend.

It took me way to long to upgrade this movie but it was well worth it. The steelbook packaging is amazing, The art is a little plain but hey Field of Dreams in 4K, Woo Hoo!!

The movie has grain since it used film and I love it! The highlight here is the packaging, very nostalgic and classic feel! Like a collector’s item, recommend it!

The picture was good not spactacular. The audio was good. I was reading some of the reviews before I bought it and the reviews were excellent buy. I disagree

This is the best this movie has ever looked in 4k. The bluray was barely ok. Dolby vision would of made it better. Great looking steelbook

This 4k upgrade is a good improvement over the regular blu-ray. I have always liked this movie and the steelbook looks great.

A great job on this 30th anniversary movie. Nice film grain throughout with tons of detail. The movie itself is a classic.

This is a classic movie that I always enjoyed. The 4K version is crisp and worth the buy if you love this movie.

Really like having it in Steelcase, but really not much of a difference between 4K and regular blu-ray

Most people should be familiar with the film. The picture/audio quality of the transfer is excellent.

I like the 4k transfer and the movie does look great, but they could've added new special features....
