Bought it as a gift but ended up watching it anyhow. Not really a guys movie at all but has some cool cars and living arrangements are nice as well. Gotta have the money to get things like that

The movie surpasses the book in a hundred different ways. It shows a vulnerable woman in control, and sheds a positive light on female sexuality. Plus Jamie Dornan is pretty easy on the eyes...

Having not read the book I went into this with open eyes. I enjoyed the movie and thought it was really enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one in the series. Maybe read the book as well.

Enjoyed Jamie Dornan's portrayal of Mr. Grey. But Dakota Johnson really shines in the film. Both do a lot with the little they had from the book. Worth a watch! And it's a beautiful steelbook!

The movie was nice and I actually enjoyed it. It had a lot of funny parts and yet the movie stays close to what the book is about. I would recommend this movie for you and your honey. Enjoy!!

Originally saw the movie at the theater with my wife. Can't say how close to the book as I never read it. If you're curious it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. Just remember he never does anything to her without her agreeing to it. Watched it on Blu-ray did notice some extra at the end. Enjoy.

I had mixed feelings in purchasing this movie, but because I had read all 3 books I went for it. Not sure if it's because my expectations were so low, but I was pleasantly surprised. Bonus ending is ok, really just an extra 5-10 seconds of movie re-cap. Scenes from Movie #2 were extremely disappointing...

oh my my my... that pretty much sums it up. if you haven't read the books, I think you'll enjoy it that much more. not having read the books I had a completely open mind when I saw it and I love it. I wasn't watching with such a critical eye looking for any possible flaws. to me there were NONE.

Great assistance in the store. Great movie, I watched the unrated & the theatrical versions. I could not really tell much difference but the movie is very good. I will definitely buy the next two movies. I wish they would be done sooner. I have read all three books three times & can't get enough of them.

since i read all the books, i had low expectations of the movie; however, i was pleasantly surprised. enjoyed it quite a bit and was over before i knew it and left me expecting more....

I really liked this movie. The Bluray has the unrated version as well as tons of cast interviews & fun bonus features. i didnt watch in theater but glad i have the 2 versions on my disc!

Love this steel book edition! This is not a classic movie and never claimed to be. I think the actors did a good job bringing these characters to life. You either like the books or you hate them, same with the movie. My hubby didn't read the books but really liked the movie. Can't wait for the second!

The movie was good it just was not totally what I expected, then you think of this you think of how graphic the book was and the movie didn't portray it like the book did.

The unrated version was way better than the movie version. While I enjoyed seeing it in the movies with friends, the alternate ending and added scenes were worth the wait for the DVD.

Loved this story line. The movie followed the books very well. This movie is only for those who do not mind nudity and explicit scenes.

Didn't know what to expect since I didn't read the book or view the trailers. So I was a bit shocked to see some of the scenes but enjoyed the romance side of the story.

This movie made me want to read the book. It dared to present the real deal of how one's upbringing can shape our relationship desires and sometimes serve as barriers to healthy ones.

Got this for my wife she loves the movie and the steel case is a step up. However I have other steel books this one by far is not as nice. I would not spring extra for the steel book.

The wife and I both were quite impressed with the quality of both the story line and the acting. The only negative was the quite abrupt ending.....leaving obvious room for sequelssss.
