Fair Warning About The Digital Copy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not reviewing the movie itself. If you're here, you've likely already seen it. I enjoy it a lot, it looks great, fun continuation of the story with all of the faces you knew and loved from FFVII, yadda yadda. The reason I'm writing this is because, while I already had a copy of the movie (the complete version, even), I bought this one to get the digital copy, as it was cheaper than buying just the digital version on Vudu. I rarely watch actual blu-rays anymore, as I usually watch stuff on my laptop at work. That said, anyone considering buying this primarily for the digital copy - it's ONLY IN JAPANESE. Some won't mind, and it does have English subtitles. The blu-ray itself is also in English. But I checked Amazon, Google Play, Movies Anywhere, and Vudu - all of them only have the Japanese version available. I don't regret buying it for that by any means as it doesn't bother me, but I figured everyone should know before buying.

Square's CGI Masterpiece
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether you are a Final Fantasy VII fan or not, Advent Children will certainly not dissapoint. Between the fluid animation, the excellent imagination of Nojima and Nomura, and the musical genius of Uematsu, this is one movie for anyone's collection. Taking place after the events of the 1990's story of Final Fantasy VII, the orginal characters find themselves facing a new menace; 3 Sephiroth clones in search of their "mother", the calamity of the sky, Jenova. The hero, Cloud Strife, must face his toughest opponent, his regret and fears, as he continues the struggle to save those dear to him and prevent chaos from threatening the planet again. Although rather short to cram in so much story, the movie still manages to captivate its audience, and leaves the viewer wanting more. This movie is recommended for teens and adults, as it contains some themes not easily understood by children. Definitely recommended for the Final Fantasy Fan. This movie deserves 5 stars.

Great buy for FF7 fans and newcomers alike
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put, this HD version of FF7: ACC is superior to the original in every way. The picture and sound quality is pristine, and watching it on my big HD TV was a delight through and through. The 26 minutes of additional footage in the Complete edition clears up some holes and loose ends that were found in the original cut of the film. There are still some awkward dialogue moments, but the makers did go back and rewrite some of the scenes to reduce the amount. Overall, it was a great buy and well worth the money.

Fan or not, the story and visuals are amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Final Fantasy 7 fan for years, so this was the sparkling cherry on an epic sundae. CGI effects are stunning and the improvements are obvious from the earlier version of Advent Children. The added material to the film helps non-fans get a general idea of the preceding story [Crisis Core, which is a video game] and how it's important to the current plot. Of course, you don't have to be a fan of the other parts to enjoy and understand Advent Children. I was even surprised when my father wanted to rewatch this movie - because the graphics were just that good! The bonus material surprised even me. It includes a rewind of the entire story [meanin FF7 in general] for the non-fan. All in all, this was one of the best things I ever bought for myself - and those watching it with me usually end up loving with this movie.

Excellent Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In addition to the 26 minutes of extra film footage, you get an anime short that tells about the life of Denzel, one of the children Cloud an Tifa are taking care of. You also get a miniature movie that does a plot run through of The Final Fantasy VII Compilation which is really awesome of you missed out on one of the games.

Good but not great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first time I watched this movie I was extremely impressed with the cgi. From the very beginning you can tell that a lot of work was put into the detail of the environments and characters. What equally impressed me as a FF7 fan is that they were able to appropriately incorporate all of the main characters from the game, some more than others, but thats a given. The plot of the movie is a little confusing at first but eventually comes together towards the middle of the movie. The fact that they based it upon the afteryears of the games storyline can leave those who never actually played the game lost a little longer than those that have. The only real issue I had with the movie was the voice acting. I can understand the need to change certain words or lines when translating from one language to another, but I find it lazy when you through unnecessary slang into the mix like "that's whack" into a movie like this.

Pretty good tribute to FFVII
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a huge fan of the original Final Fantasy VII, I found this movie to be very satisfying. It truly is a beautiful film; it has by far some of the best CGI I've ever seen. That CGI is put to its best use in the action scenes, which are fast, frenzied, and full of great fighting "choreography." Any fan of FFVII will love this movie. But, that is also it's biggest drawback. For those who have never played the original game, they'll have no idea what's going on. Granted there is a short synopsis at the beginning of the film, but it's not much. The story line isn't very clear in the movie anyway, so the lack of background information won't help. Also, the voice acting could use some work in specific areas of the movie. It's not bad overall, but some parts are better than others. All in all though, this is a fun, short and sweet movie that any fan of action flicks should check out. If nothing else, just watch it for the CGI; it'll be the best you've ever seen.

Two Thumbs Up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie was eagerly anticipated for a very long time, and for good reason. The game Final Fantasy 7 was amazing and deserved an equaly amazing sequel, and this CG film completely fufilled that daunting task. With a very deep storyline that every person who played the game would appreciate (because the game's story was deep) and graphics that completely blew my mind so much so that I had to pick up the pieces later, this film will expand your mind. I can see that the story might be slightly confusing to someone who knows not the world of final fantasy 7, but this minor set-back will be swept away by amazing fighting sequences, thrilling voice-overs, and dazzeling visuals.

Absolutely Gorgeous Movie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit, that the first time I saw this, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Even to my friends who actually played FFVII, the storyline didn't make a lot of sense. But that doesn't really matter because the whole movie is so absolutely beautiful. and because it was done in 3-d there are angles that you couldn't do with real people, and things that real people couldn't have done. And if you watch this movie enough, it makes more and more sense every time. I love it. My favorite part of the movie are the fight scenes, and Cloud's sword(s) in them. On service, It arrived pretty fast and in great condition. What more could you want?

final fantasy 7
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this movie for my son based on the trailer we watched together. I knew he would like it, but I also enjoyed it very much. I never played the game nor I've seen the episodes but I must say that this movie would leave you wanting more. You'll forget you're watching an animated movie, the action, the music, and the story line work well together, most of all no singing just action.

Exceeded Expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about a FF7 DVD, being a huge fan of the game and all. I'm really glad I decided to buy it and give it a chance. This DVD can be summed up in one word: Amazing. The storyline starts where the game left off and does a great job of tying in with everything that happened in the game. To add to it's greatness, it has a FF7 recap so those who have not played the game in awhile can easily remember what happened. The graphics are breath-taking and the sound is a exceptional. This is a must for ANY Final Fantasy VII fan.

VII
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely one of the toppers on my list of movies to see and own. One of the best animated movies of all time in my opinion; with the quality of graphics, there are times you'll forget that it is in fact animated! I am a huge fan of Final Fantasy and the fact that it doesn't go off FFVII's actual story isn't that big of a deal to me. The creators made an equally interesting feature that I really enjoyed watching. If you aren't a Final Fantasy fanatic, you can also purchase just the movie by itself without all the collectables.

Its a good movie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first saw this movie when I borrowed it from a friend, I have never seen anything regarding final fantasy before, nor have I played the game, but the movie was great on its own you dont need to know the game series to get into the movie since they do a fine job of conveying the back story in the begining to the new comers of the story. The action sequences take your breath away and leave you on the edge, it keeps your attention from start to finish with its sheer intensity

final fantasy VII, the best.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always buy online, because I dont have the time to go to the store to find the item. So I always choose (picked up at store) but OMG the customer service is not good at all, for someone to show up at the pick up section, takes always forever, and even when others employees are aware that you are waiting for service, they just keep talking to each other, sucks. Anyways love best buy for the prices, but the service sucks

FF fans MUST see this version
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Final Fantasy franchise comes to life in Advent Children for the first time! This Bluray release includes more footage than the DVD versions, so get ready for about 25 minutes of exclusive footage! Also includes the bonus anime tale, "On The Way To A Smile" featuring the Denzel character. If you have the DVD, UPGRADE! If you haven't seen it yet, any FF fan already would have, buy it now!

Amazing Movie!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and for good reason! Amazing graphical art, brilliantly designed, and an in-depth storyline... what's not to love?! As a HUGE fan of the FF7 game, I absolutely loved seeing the old favorites in action. Having the original Japanese audio available was also a plus, and the extras were great as well. I encourage anyone, a fan of the FF series or not, to pick up this DVD!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's the feature film any FF series fanatic has been drooling to see since 1997 and the days of the PS1. if you liked the game you have to see this movie. the only annoying thing about this movie is one scene with a little bad dialogue that sometimes crops up in dubbed movies, but all the rest was worth the price of admission. even if you haven't played FF7 it isn't a prerequisite
