Great to see the unaired episodes of this underrated show. Gone too soon

Being a fan of both sci-fi and comedy, many friends recommended this to me.

The show gets such great reviews, but the acting was not good. And that made the whole thing seem very hokey.

Think Star Trek meets John Wayne. Or something like that. I didn't realize we carried the BD version of this or I would have bought it the day it came out. This show was by FAR the best that I have ever seen on TV and the network which will remain nameless was out of their gorram minds to cancel it. The cast is the absolute best group I have ever seen in a show together, the chemistry is perfect. The season, if you can call 13 episodes a season, leaves you wanting more. As remarkable as the show was, even more remarkable is the fact that AFTER it was cancelled, fan support was such that a movie was actually made to finish up a lot of the loose ends that were created by the short sightedness of cancelling the show. How many shows do you know of that happening for? Not too many I imagine. 5 million stars.

This is a very entertaining show that can be watched very casually, pretty much every episode has its own unique story. There are some major plot points, but they are not overdone, they tend to move along very well from episode to episode. The thing that amazes me the most is that I can like this as much as I can with the fact that it mixes Sci-Fi with Western. I know, it sounds very corny, but they actually make it work very well. I like the part of the intro where you see a herd of horses running and the spaceship comes not far behind making it seem like it is the spaceship herding the horses.

It's been a long time since we've had a new western on TV. Although set in the future Firefly is a throughback to the time Westerns ruled the airways. While there exists a continuing storyline from episode to episode, each episode is a complete story in itself. The guns are phasers, but the stories are classic western situations. Good guys battling the bad guys, riding off into the sunset at the end of each episode. I highly recommend you check out this DVD. Then you'll be ready when Firefly returns to TV.

Joss Whedon did a great job of creating a show that would, despite being cancelled way too soon, remain excellent a decade after it aired. The characters are fun to watch, the episodes are suspenseful, and the dialogue is clever and full of humor. The cult following that the series has gained over time goes to show that it deserved to run for longer than it did. Having the complete series on Blu-ray is great because it allows you to watch every episode in the order that was intended, and it comes with some awesome behind-the-scenes bonus features that give some insight into the making of the show. I would definitely recommend this to others, and it is a must-have for Whedon fans.

this is a fantastic sifi tv series. its very captivating and will leave you begging for more. this space/western is action packed with all sorts of plot twists making it impossible to guess whats going to happen next. all the characters are very unique; from thier attitudes down to their comic styles you find no where else. a series like this is worth every penny you spend. i would also reccommend picking up the movie along with this series. the movie is called Serenity.

I am so happy that they finally put the series and the movie serenity on Bluray. I have been waiting so long. One of the best tv shows ever made. Its another great show that Fox had to cancel. When will Fox learn not to cancel good shows like Firefly, John Doe, Dark Angel, etc. We don't care about american idol or some stupid reality show. Sorry about my rambling, buy the series you wont regret it
