This was my first Stallone movie. Lots of action and suspense but lots of blood too. Very action packed! May watch the second movie to see more action.

Movie wasn't that good story was boring would not have bought it

The movie is awesome, one of my all time favs. But im not going to review the movie. I'm reviewing the 4k aspect. 4k on this old movie made absolutely zero difference in quality of picture, and im watching on a LG OLED. This 4k was no better than the bluray version, which was scant if any better than the dvd version. Not worth paying more than $5 for 4k. The 2 stars is just for the movie/Rambo ... that's it

Before Rambo became an absurd fixture among 80's action heroes, First Blood showcased the character in a more intelligent manner. Those expecting M60 machine guns, explosions and a body count equivalent to the population of an island nation will be disappointed. Instead First Blood is tale of a national hero who is demeaned and disrespected upon returning home from Vietnam. This 4k release is great and its budget price makes upgrading an old dvd or blu ray a no brainer.

This looks fantastic in 4K. One of the best restorations on the format. I haven't seen this movie in 20+ years, maybe longer, so the dialogue heavy portions of 3/4 of the movie were a surprise remembrance to me, but welcome. The action in the last 1/4 doesn't come close to some of the bananas stuff we see in the sequels, but it's still very good.

This action movie is what I like to call "realistic". Stallone does a good job of portraying a realistic character without saying much, and the movie looks very crisp considering it's from 1982. The action in this movie is very believable, and none of the characters do anything that wouldn't be possible in real life, which is why it's my favorite action movie. There are no lame video game shootouts or obvious stuntman CGI special effects you see in every single action movie today. This thing is the real deal. There are a few moments in the movie with some cheesy acting, like the scene where the general is talking inside the radio tent, or the National Guard guys when they're pinned down in the trench by Stallone, but other than that, everything is good, especially considering this was a low budget movie, I definitely believe it stands the test of time and is worth seeing by anyone who's fed up with computer animated green screen movies filled with braindead actors who read every line off the script page, or is looking for a good old school action movie that's not one to make fun of.

THIS MOVIE IS THE START OF A SERIES THAT IS AN ALL AMERICAN LEGENDARY EPIC THAT STARTS WITH A BANG AND ENDS WITH A BANG. THIS MOVIE STARS THE ALL TIME BEST ROCK HARD ,COLD STARE, TOUGH MAN IN MOVIE HISTORY. SYLVESTER STALLONE BLOWS IT AWAY IN THIS ONE. (LITERALLY) HAHA! THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR THE RAMBO SERIES TO MAKE SENSE. IF YOU LOVE GREAT ACTION AND WATCHING THE ULTIMATE FORCE TO BE RECOND WITH JOHN RAMBO THEN THIS FILM WILL LEAVE YOU COMPLETELY ENTERTAINED. IF YOU WERE NOT A STALLONE FAN BEFORE THIS FILM, YOU WILL BE AFTER WATCHING THIS MASTERPIECE!

I did not see this film until recently. I was surprised by it because it was not what I expected. The first Rambo I saw was the forth one. It was a very bloody movie. I figured that Rambo would just go off killing a ton of people but when I was the movie that was not the case. This was a story about a man who came back from Vietnam and people were against him because they did not like the war. It is about a soldier who made a sacrifice to surve his country and now he was paying the price for it. Check this out cause it is more then you may think.

This movie is easily of of the best films ever and is in my opinion Sylvester Stallone's best work. Just see the movie because it's amazing! It's great action entertainment and you'll love the sequels. 2 was awesome, 3 was... well, 3 and the new "Rambo" was a great movie! Pick it up!

Ok.. once you load the disc and see this floating knife in a forest you may think the movie is going to suck, but it doesnt. The transfer to blu ray is quite good. I was very pleased. The opening credits appear very crisp and vibrant and the film is greatly improved from previous dvd releases. The blu ray has a great commentary with Stallone. This blu ray sells at a budget price. I highly recommend getting it if you are a fan on Rambo!

The first Rambo may actually be a surprise to many, it's more then just a bunch of mindless killing. It's still an action movie to be sure, but the story has a little more depth to it then you might expect. Worth checking out.

This is a classic Stallone action movie that has, fortunately, received a terrific transfer to blu-ray. This steelbook edition is a neat collector's item.

I just wish they leave the first film alone instead of doing sequels cause it ruins what makes First Blood great in the first place

Explosive action movie. Very powerful war hero. Excellent film viewing.

Great film, poor dvd...This 'First Blood: Ultimate Edition' is everything but ultimate. It drops all the special edition bonus features of the 2002 release, the DTS audio, and gives us a somewhat 'overdone' high-def transfer of the film. It adds a mediocre Sylvester Stallone commentary in lieu of the much better David Morrell (the writer) commentary on the original dvd release, plus a couple of lame deleted scenes. If you're going to buy this film, get the 2002 special edition version.

Almost a carbon copy of the most recent standard definition dvd incarnation, The mildly improved image here, which by the way will only be noticeable on a large widescreen hi-def tv, hardly makes this one worth the price of rebuying. Skip it.
