Not as sleek as I thought it’d be.

Half of me loves this and half of me hates it. PROS: - Customizable screen - Bands can be switched out - Good battery life (depending on usage) - Notifications available if synced with cell phone - Built in alarms - Timers built in (stopwatch & countdown) - Weather forecast - Relaxation breathing exercises (2-5 minutes) CONS: - It is very bulky. Not just the width of the band but the main electronic piece is very thick. I hate wearing this piece when I’m going out and dressed formally. - Battery life really depends on how often you check your steps, if you’re using the features that were built in and how often you sync. My Fitbit went from 100% to 30% in less than 2 days. - I feel like the steps are inaccurate. I wore my best friend’s Fitbit Alta HR on one arm and this Fitbit Charge 3 on the other and the Alta claimed that I hit over 30,000 steps in a 3 hour hike period. The Charge 3 was hardly making it to 20,000 and I find that really odd. - I think the breathing app should remind people to use it before bed or if their HR is too high and they aren’t exercising. You have to select it yourself just to use it. So what’s the point? - I dislike the way you browse the device using the side button. - I list my hand to see the time and the dang screen doesn’t turn on automatically like it shows in videos. All in all, I’ve made use of this device but I still might consider switching it out for the good ol Alta HR. All I care about is the time, number of steps and HR. Don’t need to see anything else. And I feel the Alta HR just bad much better battery life. If you’re someone who feels the breathing exercises, weather, and larger screen is better then go for it. But I need something sleeker with easier usage.

Bought this only one year ago, already dead. Lines on the screen, will not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, will not even charge half the time. Tried resetting, all the usual troubleshooting, but it's clearly a hardware issue that can't be reset. Used it for running, gym, everyday fitness and sleep tracking, disc golf, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary, wore it every day, charged it regularly and kept up with the updates. Used a screen protector. I take care of my tech. Pretty disappointed that such an expensive device didn't last, particularly one that is designed for physically active people. Will not be buying a FitBit device again. Do not recommend to others. It was fine while it worked though. Sleep tracking was neat. The phone notifications and point of sale pay features were pretty bad though, I never used them. Bluetooth connectivity was a little spotty from time to time; sometimes wouldn't sync on demand.

So I purchased the Charge 3 after my Charge 2 screen got cracked and I couldn’t see the display anymore. Any way the Charge 3 has ALOT of new useful features. Including weather which I thought was stupid but I actually find myself using my watch rather than my phone. The text message read feature is more refined. The touch screen uses swipe motions as well. I also like that you can choose the type of exercises now. I can finally add kickboxing and hiking in. My wife likes my Charge 3 so much I have a feeling her Charge is going to have an “accident” soon.

Wearing this Fitbit keeps me motivated to keep moving. Its helpful to track my fitness, see my heart rate, calories burned and sleep patterns. I find that the mileage tracker is more accurate when I run than when I walk. Mileage is undercounted when I walk. Maybe this has to do with assumed stride length. Also, I like the watchband. Fabric dries quickly and its more comfortable than plastic. Overall, it works well and I recommend it to anyone interested in tracking their fitness.
