Incredible Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for something that is simple, the Charge 4 is perfect. The tracking of heart rate, calories, steps, sleep, active minutes are all awesome and from what I can tell very accurate! I consider myself a very active person and have not once regretted choosing this product over something like an Apple Watch.

My first activity tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had any problems with setup since downloading the manual. The biggest problem so far is it logging every hand movement as steps. I work outdoors and every shovel movement counts as a step. For example the fitbit showed 20000 steps one day while my iPhone showed 7000. The zone minutes seem to track ok but is somewhat useless to me at the moment as I am being treated for high blood pressure. Digging a hole will result in cardio zone minutes while I am really just trying not to have a heartattck. All of the notifications seem to work correctly. I have enjoyed the sleep tracker.

Do NOT buy.........
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace not one - but two - defective Fitbit Inspire HR activity trackers I purchased in the previous month. Thought I would be getting something a little bit more - seeing how it was brand new to the market. The Inspires were pure trash - neither of them worked at all. The Charge 4 - brand new to the activity tracker market - well......it also was pure garbage. First, the display wouldn't work - even when charged up for an hour. Then, the app wouldn't work on my iPhone. Then, the pairing between the two wouldn't work. 6 hours later - I got everything working. GREAT - or so I thought. On Day 4 - with the phone at a 50% charge - everything stopped working. The display froze, the app on the phone no longer worked with the Charge - the online app and website couldn't recognize it. I restarted everything - rebooted - even deleted the app, then added it again - and deleted the tracker on the app...then tried to add it again. No go - nothing worked - the app wouldn't recognize the watch/tracker....and the tracker itself would no longer work. Here's my theory - since Google bid for Fitbit last year, Fitbit has nothing to lose. So.....their quality control and customer service(they were ZERO help) has gone down the drain. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - purchase something worth getting - where the company is still a going concern. Fitbit has turned to trash, the CEO is cashing out from the Google deal - and nobody there cares at this point. I own a Fitbit from years ago that still works today. But the new stuff - don't bother. Go for something else - Apple, Garmin, anything - tons of companies in this space now. Don't waste your hard-earned cash - and time - on this trash.

Broken band attachment.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Be careful when purchasing this product. The band attachment broke twice, in the original and the replaced watch. I purchased it in May and the attachment broke right after 45 days used, I had it replaced and had exactly the same issue. Keep in mind that the watch was used by a person that walks and not any used for any type of extreme sports for it to brake so easily after a short period of time. Waiting on the third replacement.

Great upgrade!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it!! Had a Fitbit flex and upgraded. I am amazed at all the extras. Especially like the clear view of time, even in the sun. I’ve used the exercise modes. Some say better than Apple Watch.

Great tracker, questionable longtime durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned 5 Fitbits. I wore one everyday for nearly 4 years. I tracked my runs, my workouts and my sleep. While in the grand scheme of things, they are unnecessary, I enjoyed having one because they did help motivate me to be more active. Of the Fitbits I've owned, I've broken several (general wear and tear). My first Fitbit Charge was damaged by water. Others the bands broke. Each and every time, Fitbit worked with me to get me a replacement device. After Google bought Fitbit, however, their warranty services are very strict. I bought the Charge 4 in June 2020, the brackets that attach to the bands (which connect to the device) broke in July 2021. While I admit that it's outside of the warranty period by 2 weeks, I was disappointed that Fitbit couldn't offer me help in fixing or repairing my device. I wouldn't tell anyone not to buy one, I used one for years, but I question their durability. When you wear one everyday, you're likely to bang it against something at some point. I miss the Fitbit of old, before it was consumed by Google. The old Fitbit would have helped out a longstanding customer who was invested in their premium services.

Great tracker, ineffectual wrist band.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the Charge 4 works very, very well, if I can’t keep it on my wrist, then it doesn’t matter how well it works. I have purchased two Charge 4’s from Best Buy because of the functionality of the device. However, in both cases, after about 10 months of normal wear, the wrist band broke, rendering the device useless. In both cases, the wrist band broke at the attachment point to the device and in both cases, the failure of the attachment was irreparable. I am not going to buy a third Charge 4 as I cannot afford to replace it on a yearly a basis. Consequently, I cannot recommend this activity tracker to anyone.

Not for people serious about tracking exercise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is not for people serious about tracking fitness activities. If you're simply looking for a small watch that counts your steps and monitors your heart rate with a almost satisfactory degree of accuracy, this product may work for you; however, if you're an active person serious about tracking your runs/rides/swims/hikes, etc., buyer beware. GPS is shoddy at best. Takes FOREVER to connect (if it connects at all) and, even when it does, be ready for the notification mid-run that your device has lost GPS signal and is no longer tracking. You (might) get your miles but you won't get your elevation and other metrics will be affected too. When this happens, you'll also no longer be able to sync the activity with other fitness apps like Strava. Mine is not an isolated problem, either, as my girlfriend has the same watch and we experience the same issues. I'd say the watch loses GPS on 30%-40% of my runs. I've contacted FitBit customer service about the issue on several occasions but, short of advising to unsync/resync the watch to your phone, you will receive no assistance to resolve the problem. Additionally, the accuracy of the data is suspect. My girlfriend and I will run the exact same route together and get significantly different mileage totals. I've been provided no satisfactory explanation for this and customer service has been no help in resolving the problem. The battery life seems strong at the beginning but give it 2-3 months of regular exercise and it will become an issue on extended outings. Took off on a run with 40% battery life last weekend and just over an hour later the watch was dying. Had to cut the run short to make it back to the charger w/ 2% battery life. If the GPS doesn't fail you (and that's a big IF), anything over 2 hours and the battery is likely going to be an issue even on a full charge (on a 50 mile ride GPS failed 15 miles in - then the battery died before the end of the ride). And the charger is flimsy. Just a few weeks after purchase, one of the prongs on the charging port broke off. You can certainly still track your exercise...in 5-7 business days when the new charger arrives. Lastly, I contacted FitBit customer service to simply try to exchange the watch for one of their higher end products. Figured, considering most of the money they're making on us is likely from the data they collect 24/7, they would be receptive to retaining a customer by replacing their defective product with something better and I could pay the difference. NOPE! You can send your watch in to FitBit for an indefinite period for inspection before they'll commit to anything. This is not a viable option. Again, if you're serious about tracking your fitness activities, avoid the headache and frustration and just buy another product.

Latest update breaks connection with iPhone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this Fitbit and really liked the features. It has all of the features that charge 3 had plus it has gps. However, Fitbit updated their app about a week ago, and the unit will not connect to my phone. I cannot see caller ID, messages, and I cannot synch to my account. That means no fitness tracking, sleep recording, or Strava interfacing. After several hours with customer support and many troubleshooting tips from their forum, it has become obvious that many Apple users have lost functionality, and there is no time frame for when the company will fix the iOS app. I took my Charge 4 back to the store for a refund today.

Too dim, not responsive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display is way too dim outside and it times out too quickly (edit: I had no idea that I could adjust that in settings! Just discovered this by accident) However, I look like an idiot pawing at the face of the watch repeatedly trying to get it to the screen or setting that I want. When I take a walk with my husband, our Fitbits vary greatly in the amount of steps we’ve taken. Additionally, several of the pixels are messed up in the display where the time of day is shown. Not a big deal, but it shouldn’t be like that on a new watch. This is my 3rd Charge Fitbit as the others died within the 2 year extended warranty period. Best Buy no longer offers an extended warranty plan which tells me that my $150 watch will probably crap out in 20 months or sooner and I’ll be forced to buy another.

Frequently defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device a few months ago now and it came with what I found out online was a fairly common manufacturers defect (a gap between the device and the band). I reached out to the warranty team and was told they would fix or replace it. It took a full month before I received a replacement device which also was defective when I received it (the screen wouldn’t light). When I reached out to Fitbit their warranty team has been impossible to contact and a nightmare to work with. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this unless you’ve got 3 months to go back and forth with them trying to get a fully functional device.

Screen to dim to read
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Charge 4 has the same dim screen problems that its predecessors the Charge 2 and 3 have had over the last 3 to 4 years and it is obvious Fitbit has no concerns for their product quality or customers as they had not resolved this issue in several years. If interested in one just go to the Fitbit community forum sight and you will see for your self. Would have added photo but all it looks like is a Fitbit Charge with a blank screen due to it is so dim.
