Best Fitbit I've Owned

I've had a Charge HR and a Charge 2 (that wouldn't die, btw), but decided to finally upgrade. The 7 day battery life is accurate. Keep in mind I don't use any GPS features at all, and I know that is a huge factor into battery life. The display is great, and the step, HR and sleep tracking have always been consistent. All around great device!

I’ve been using Fitbit trackers since December 2014 and have racked up around 14,000 miles.
I went from the Fitbit Zip to Fitbit One to Fitbit ionic.
The Zip had the weak point of having to purchase batteries.
The One was an improvement with recharging and measuring flights of stairs.
While it lasted, the ionic did well, but had a fatal design flaw where it died just after going beyond warranty, so I went back to using Fitbit One.
So far, the Charge 4 is doing great. I like the zone minutes and heart rate monitoring. It is much more compact than the ionic. It holds charge better than the ionic.
I also got it in sale so it was only around $130 - much cheaper than an actual smart watch. I didn’t want to have an extension of my iPhone. That’s why I don’t want to spend $500 for an Apple Watch or even $300 for another Fitbit smart watch.

I like it, although I've had to replace it twice now in 18 months, once under FitBit warranty and once under the extend warranty I purchased. Housing broke the first time and unit just stopped functioning the second time. Under both warranty replacements you only get the housing, not the band or the charge cable.

The Fitbit Charge 4 Activity Tracker is easy to use, comfortable to wear, battery lasts several days, can get wet, shows incoming phone calls and text messages, tells you how you slept, has several clock faces to choose from, and of course tracks your exercise activity. It can sync with with your health insurance app to possibly save you money. Love it.

Usually i don't have time for reviews, but after purchasing Charge 4 and being skeptical at the beginning of what a small watch like this can do, in only 3 weeks i ended up loving it a lot. I'm a tech savvy and don't get easily impressed with a product, but this one does a great job on giving you most of the information you need about yourself. Sleep, O2 sat during sleep, heart rate, calories you burn, etc. I purchased also the galaxy watch 3 and if samsung is more like a smart watch with many faces, loud speaker, microphone, ability to answer calls and talk, the charge gives you a more comprehensive image of your wellbeing in a very smart, simple and intuitive way on the app on your phone, but also most of that info you get it on the watch itself. The charge 4 doesn't have to be connected with the telephone to do it's job, records and memorizes all the data and you have access to that all the time on the watch itself. When you connect it with the phone if you decide to do it, you will have a better image of your past activity, metabolism, sleep etc. I love the fitbit and did i mention it lasts with normal use 4- 5 days on one charge?

Built in GPS is what convinced me to go with this rather than the smart watch. You can leave your phone at home when you go on runs. It's so convenient. The sleep tracking is phenomenal and has helped me form better habits.
I only need to charge once a week and it charges pretty fast. I've been able to go swimming and shower with this one with no problem.

Battery can last close to a week. Tracks steps, flights of stairs, and heart rate. Water resistant and connects with phone to show calls/texts. Can set timers and alarms although alarm is hard distinguish which days it’s on versus off because the lettering (bold for on and not bold for off) is very similar.

Took a while to figure out all the tiny symbols and how to maneuver through them on arm watch. Easy to understand on smart phone Fitbit App.
While walking it doesn't show an active total steps changing as you walk but updates total after you stop.
I'm 85, bought it to encourage me to stay active, plus I need a small watch on my thin skinned wrists that wouldn't hang on clothes etc.
I can't compare it to other activity watches as this is my first.
I find it to be a motivation tool and an instant health watch tool when active.

Nice Update/Replacement for Blaze

Got this Charge 4 to replace my Blaze, which had gotten a cracked face. This new Charge 4 is smaller, but seems to have just about everything I had enjoyed with my Blaze. With the Charge 4, I no longer have to link to my smartphone to use its GPS/location feature...nice, and one less thing to have to fiddle with. The dial and display are adequate, though not in color. Seems to hold its battery charge, and easy to re-charge.
The only downer is that the initial start-up/installation is cumbersome/tedious, and there are virtually no printed instructions, like "getting started." Nothing to show you the steps to follow, just "plug and pray." As such, I found myself going in circles for quite awhile. Fitbit can do better here.

After wearing FB Zip since 2013 changing to the Charge 4 was a real upgrade for me and has taken some adjustment. Overall, I’m happy with the sleep and heart rate data it provides. Sleep time is reasonably accurate, though it starts clocking awake time before I’m even in bed. Actual sleep time seems accurate. The heart rate info and zone minutes have encouraged a little more “brisk” in my daily walk. I signed on for the three month trial of premium to get full value. It is essential to read the manual. One drawback is that the face isn’t visible outdoors and doesn’t automatically show when looking at it like a watch, (except in the morning). Nice displays on the FB App. I love the band on the special edition, looks nice and is easy to use.

My wife and I have been Fitbit users for many years and have had many models including the Surge and the Ionic. Due to multiple issues, we both wound up getting new Charge 4 devices during the last few months, and thanks to a great offer via a Credit card this one was a very good price after that offer took effect.
The device has everything you expect to have on a modern fitness tracker including running, various exercises as well as sleep tracking, and O2 level sensing. The device also had the ability to get different bands and watch faces. The battery life is excellent and after a little bit of use, you can easily navigate via the screen and the side "button".
Overall, I am really enjoying this Fitbit Charge 4 and find the size and capabilities and the price to be great - even without the credit card offer.

I have had the Fitbit Charge 4 for about a month now. It was easy to set up and interact with via the app. This is my first activity tracker and I haven't worn a watch in many years, but with the small size and light weight I hardly notice when I'm wearing it. There is some room for improvement with better fit and finish. I have a large wrist and ended up buying an aftermarket band which aligns better and mates more solidly to the module than the original band. Getting the charger installed and aligned properly is a little tricky. Overall I'm very pleased with the tracker and believe it has helped me to be more active and more cognoscente of my sleep patterns.

Screen fell out

Worked well for 3 years but then the screen fell out and based on community posts it is a VERY common problem for fitbit screens. I've contacted the company but I'm pretty sure I'll be outside of the warranty. Best Buy stopped offering thier warranty on fitbit before I bought this one. I am pretty sure I only got 3 years out of this one because I never got it wet, the average for most seems to be 11 to 15 months. Never got to try the music player features because it onlt works with PREMIUM spotify. Don't think I'll be going with another fitbit if I can help it.

This review is not for the fitness enthusiasts!
I primarily use my Charge 4 for health and activity monitoring - i.e. step counter, heart rate, sleep cycles, weight tracking, etc. - which it performs superbly. It is a reliable activity tracker companion and it works well w/o premium subscription.
It replaced my Charge 3 which died after 2 years. Since I am not using the GPS, my Charge 4 is the "same" as my Charge 3 was.
Main advantage, why I stayed with Fitbit, is the 7-day battery life (w/o using the built-in GPS!). I charge it once a week while I'm watching a movie and I can wear it for a week - not missing a beat! Also, my Charge 3 aftermarket wristbands work with the Charge 4.

This is the 3rd Fitbit I have purchased since they first came out. These were all for my wife and each one has been an upgrade. She wears it daily and loves the idea of keeping track of her daily steps calories and sleep pattern. As a bonus she receives $5 a month from our Medicare Supplement Insurance as they can track her activity. For us it pays for itself. I but the deluxe model this time and it looks more elegant than the basic model

I didn't need a smart watch (I own one and rarely use it) but I did want a fitness tracker to keep tabs on my workouts. I wanted something small/slim that could also check heart rate, etc. This has great battery life, a display that shows all the info you would need, and a great app/website to check the data.
Sure there's a subscription plan, but that's optional. You can still get a lot of data out of it including your sleep tracking.
An update is rolling out soon to get blood oxygenation stats on the device as well.
Interchangeable bands seal the deal so you can customize your look.

A very low cost device for fitbit users. I have been using fitbit devices for years and like this low cost version. GPS is awesome and it is not too big and heavy on the wrist. The only thing fitbit (google now) can improve on is the way you charge it. The connectors on back can wear out and make the device unusable. Fitbit should use a magsafe type charging unit to assure the connectors never wear out. It they do, this device is cheap unlike its predecessors.

The best OVERALL activity tracker

I admit, I'm stuck on Fitbit and have been for years. While many might say it's stupid to track steps (we can debate whether 10,000 steps leads to a healthier life) it's the catalyst to get me moving. As a once very active person settling into a professional life with 2 kids, it's tough to find the time (for me) to remain active. The Fitbit keeps me honest and motivated to get up.
This is the best tracker for the money now that it has built in GPS. I generally run with my phone anyway, but I find the build in GPS to be more accurate. The fact that it's waterproof is a lifesaver. Now I don't need to take it off in the pool (sometimes I just forgot when wearing my Charge 2). It's light and handsome. I don't mind wearing it with my suit (with the new granite band).
The battery life is pretty good, but what they don't tell you (they do, it's just not plain in the marketing) is that the GPS kills the battery. If you turn off GPS sure it will last 6 days. But if the GPS is on (which it is by default) it will drain quickly. The other issue is that you have to turn GPS off within each activity (so, walking, running, outdoor activity). And when you turn it on before a run, it can sometimes take 2-3 minutes to find your location.
But all in all, if you are invested in the Fitbit ecosystem and tracking steps like me this is the watch to get. It's not bulky, does everything you need it to do well, and it's got some extra bells and whistles if that fits your needs (like Fitbit pay)
