I bought this for my wife as an anniversary present. She wears it all the time now and loves that it records all her steps, in particular while she plays tennis (which she does three times per week). At about 10,000 steps it gives her a short vibration and display celebration "parade" which she loves to get. In fact, if she is somewhat short of 10,000 steps she will walk around the house to get there.

Been fitbit user for couple of years, after switching from Garmon. Had charge 3 and now upgraded to charge 4. Main reason for upgrade was to get brighter screen. While brighter, still not great in sunlight. Otherwise, it’s one of the best tracking devices. Several fitness geeks rated fitbit infrastructure as the best system and charge 4 as great fitness device.

1 month review, received June 10, 2020. Overall I'm happy with this purchase. A variety of watch faces to pick from depending on your needs, including some of the largest time digits available in a watch. The auto activity tracker works well, but does not record distance for the activity like it does in manual. The update I received today (1.96.29) made several improvements. Smart Wake, which will wake you up some time in the half hour before your alarm depending on your sleep rhythm. Selectable Screen Timeout, ~3 5? or 8 seconds. Dynamic GPS, which helps extend battery life. GLONASS on/off, Russian version of GPS for better location in urban settings or near the poles. Some things not so great: O2 sensor seems a bit useless. It reports oxygen variation during sleep, but does not record absolute oxygen levels nor waking oxygen info. Pairing with the phone requires bluetooth and GPS to be on. This duel requirement is lost on me. Pairing with a laptop does not require GPS..Obviously not an actual requirement. Some functionally is hard to find in the app. Such as checking for updates inside of Account > Discover/Help > Check for Charge 4 update. Reminders to move is either on or off. It does not seem adjustable outside of which days and hours it should run. It is also based on steps. Getting up and stretching it doesn't care about. Manually tracking food, water, and weight seems to be a large part of what fitbit wants you to do with their app, but this seems unhelpful for most of the functionality of the device. I wish they had made some of the device-collected data more easier to explore in the app instead of focusing on begging for user input.

Liking this product … size is great. Charger is proprietary. Wish it had wireless charging. Another charger to carry. Simple device with GPS to help track steps. Does this well. The sleep tracking is great. Auto exercise seems to think I’m riding my bike when I’m mowing the lawn. Had an Apple Watch series 2 that stopped working and died everyday. This is far superior.

Does what I want which is track steps & my heart rate, but especially the reminder to move each hour. I wish there was a clock face option that made the symbols & words larger . The watch face itself is small, which I like so it’s a compromise. Lightweight. Not flashy. Good basic , simple tracker.

I've been wearing my Charge 4 for about four months now and it's great. I like the info it gives me on my sleep patterns and heart rate. I noticed I didn't always swing my arms when I walked so I started wearing the tracker on my ankle for accurate step counts. I have an iPhone but I picked this over the apple watch because of its battery life and also how much cheaper it was.

    Better Hardware than Charge 3

Overall, this Fitbit Charge 4 unit that I've had for the past 6 months is more reliable (in regards to hardware) than my Charge 3 that I had before it. Background: My Charge 3 had to be replaced once under warranty because there were black lines (dead pixels) going through the screen. That replacement had a similar screen defect after about 8 months, this time it got white lines going through the screen. So far, there have been no screen issues with this Charge 4 unit that I've had. Battery life is good, pretty much the same as Charge 3. I haven't used the standalone GPS that much, but if you use it for about an hour or less then battery life isn't impacted that much. My main issue has to do with the software and the Charge 4's connection with the Fitbit app. My phone says it is connected with the Charge 4 but the Fitbit app sometimes doesn't sync for days. This makes features like weather and notifications not work very well. To get my sleep and exercise data to sync, I have to tap 'sync now' in the app 3-8 times.

I was excited about GPS in this small package, tried it twice since yesterday and it is definitely not accurate - Fitbit shows ~ 0.15 miles higher for each mile, rounds off the route (see image) and drains battery much faster. I would much rather use the phone's GPS and charge one device every day instead of charging 2 devices. I still have to carry my phone for music so might as well either save $20 and buy Charge 3, or just keep using apps on phone. I was also extremely disappointment by the touch interface, either it was my unit that's defective, but when I have to swipe two or three times to finish the action it feels like it's a device that was designed 10 years ago. This is my first fitbit, and I am definitely not impressed considering how popular the tracker is. I do like the heart rate and sleep trackers.

Bought this on sale (along with 2 others) to motivated my mom and partner to exercise more. It’s fun challenging each other on the app and I like that it tracks my sleep. It’s definitely not as fancy as the Apple Watch or pricier Fitbit models, but I’m liking it so far! It’s also a great reminder to move more often now that I’m working from home everyday!

Great for the price. I love the GPS tracking although it can be somewhat finicky. It can take between 30 second - 3 minutes to pick up the GPS signal. In severe overcast weather, it has cut out on me. Half way through the run, it will drop GPS and just say it is turning off. I'm assuming that is due to the rain clouds affecting the signal reception. Don't leave GPS on or it will kill your battery. I turn GPS on right before my run, and then turn it off right after. I can go on 3-4 hour long runs with GPS on (and turning it off right after that) before the battery runs out. Otherwise, it is tough and gives me all the information I need. I like the sleep metrics too. Very easy to sync up to your phone. I owned the Charge 3 before this, and although they are similar, the GPS upgrade on this is well worth it.

I love the extra battery life - very noticeable difference from my HR3. The additional sensors provide a new depth of understanding into sleep/exercise outcomes (body temp, O2, and GPS) particularly when paired with the premium features of the FitBit app. The pulse-rate sensor is very accurate during rest and exercise.

I've been using this Fitbit tracker for several months. It does a great job of tracking steps, stairs, heart rate, sleep cycles, and activity. The battery lasts for days between charges (nearly a week), and the email reminders and notices are very encouraging. It's also great that it connects and communicates with my Samsung phone.

I had a Charge 3 but it was starting to give out so I decided to go for the 4. I’ve particularly enjoyed the ability to track my heart rate and sleep, and like all the data and graphics available on the app. I don’t use all of the features I’m sure, but I like this tracker a lot. Comfortable on the wrist, easy to charge. Even like the Rosewood color!

PLUS side is gps, heart rate, activity and alarm - very useful! NEGATIVE is no customized real face (like with fitbit ionic or apple watch) just plain ones. need add option to make better customized front face. need add more apps for that. Worth buy for those who want simple tracker with gps.

My only issue is I continually have issues syncing with my iPhone 7. I know I am probably ready for a new phone but have also heard of this same issue with the iPhone 11. Also, I didn’t like the band that came with it so I bought a metal loop band to dressed it up. Looks much better now.

I purchased the Charge 4 watch because my other Fitbit, a HR Charge 2, had a broken crystal and wasn't holding a charge very well. The user interface on the Charge 4 is significantly different. No introduction manual with the watch. It was very frustrating trying to figure things out. I had to go view the video on how to use the watch! ;-) After viewing the videos, things are easier. I have an elderly gentleman who will be in need of a watch on the near future. He currently has an Charge 2 HR Fitbit. The UI on the Charge 4 would drive him crazy and the dexterity required to use the watch would surpass his fine motor skills. Recommending this watch is a qualified yes. The watch also lacks a spin exercise option which I used extensively before COVID-19. It does a great job regarding battery life. I like the built in GPS and having a one band for all is a nice feature. Overall, a nice watch with a significant learning curve.

I love my FitBit Charge 4. I tracks my heart rate, keeps accurate time, tracks my sleep, and can do other 'extra' things that I don't even use. The ONLY problem with FitBit is that if the band or the device malfunction.....it is VERY tedious to get a warranty replacement. For people like me who get 20,000 steps a day and earn a bunch of points for their health insurance incentive programs (mine is Humana GO365).....it is a mess....as you have to call FitBit, they send you a mailing label. You ship it back to them (Anaheim, CA)....which takes forever to get there. THEN they have to ship a new warranty replacement one back to you. So you are WITHOUT your 'point generating machine' in the interim. Best Buy no longer offers the good old 'Geek Squad' extra 2-year warranty on FitBit devices....which is a shame, as if that was the case, you could just go to the Best Buy and swap them out and be on your way. A good product....but replacing them is a pain. I just now have two of them....as they eventually break. Good luck!!
