It’s been so awesome having this. It’s honestly helped me to get moving more and to understand the intensities of my workouts, especially when I strength train! I’m happy with all of the different metrics it tracks. And I am happy with the GPS. I typically had to guess what my lap mile was, but with the GPS there’s so much I can see now with my pacing, and no more guessing how many miles I’ve ran. I don’t have issues with this being on throughout the day. It only turns on when I specify that I’m jogging. The GPS does lower the battery life, but so far it hasn’t been enough to make a significant difference. I can still go more than a day before I need to charge it again after using it. I also like the notifications to move. It’s made me realize just how sedentary I am during the work day. I’ve really picked up my movement since purchasing this item. My only issues have been that a couple of times I had trouble syncing it to my phone. But that hasn’t been enough to frustrate me. And the only other thing I wish I could change is when I’m exercising and it notifies me that I’m moving from fat burn to cardio then to peak, I wish I could tap on it to go away so I can see the other details. Sometimes those notifications stay up for a bit too long, which I’m quickly trying to see details on my bpm or pace. Overall, it’s a great product and it’s really helped with improving my healthy lifestyle. There’s so many positives I can say about this Fitbit, so I highly recommend to anyone with an active lifestyle or someone trying to live an overall healthy lifestyle.

The Charge 5 is possibly the worst fitbit ever

This is the worst Fitbit device I have ever had. I have had a Flex, Charge 2, a Charge 3 and not this barely functional thing called a Charge 5. This Charge 5 will neither record my data, nor sync with any reliability. I have had this tracker for six days. It has not recorded my sleep (or any other sleep based metrics) for three of those nights. I have had to re-pair this with my phone four times over the last six days to get it to sync, but that doesn't always work. Also, get used to the phrase "Sync it taking a while. Sit tight." This thing takes forever to pair, if it pairs at all. I have not had issues to this extent with other Fitbit products. The Charge 5 sounds great on paper, but it is a poorly designed fitness tracker and should be avoided. I have come to expect Fitbit devices to last less than 18 months and have issues with their screens and wristbands, but this device is a technological tragedy.

Nice tracker but Missing the Relax Notification

I updated my Charge 2 tracker to the Charge 5 and noticed some differences. Not as easy as the Charge 2. With all the updates in the Fitbit line, you would think the Relax notification would be on the Charge 5, but not at all. You cannot get it! I miss the little button on the side to ensure the screen changes. Sometimes, you have to tap multiple times to allow the screen to change. At least the numbers are still easy to read.

This Fitbit is exactly how it is advertised, "Advanced". I bought this as a gift for my sister and she is totally happy with it. She's able to wear it where she works as opposed to the one she previously had, and she gets texts which she previously couldn't on her old Fitbit. I don't always get her the perfect birthday gift, but I know that I did this time, she's happy.

My wife has had two of these in the past. They last roughly 2 years before crapping out in some way. While that lifespan is not ideal, it is still worth it for the price. She far prefers the FitBit over the Apple Watch because she is petite (FitBit is smaller) and she wouldn’t use the Apple Watch for all of its features.
