Good upgrade from the charge 3

Charge 5 vs Apple Watch was my consideration. The 5 will have pretty much same features once the ecg becomes available. I considered the longer lasting Apple Watch and it’s price to the expected lifetime of the 5 and it’s price and it still comes out to about the same annual cost. I opted for not so much money upfront. That was truly the only deciding factor for me.

It works great and really helps me track my activity throughout the day. Gives helpful reminder if you haven't had your 250 steps in an hour. Most usefully, it helps me track my heart zones so I get in my aerobic activity for heart health. This really helps me keep track of my health!

    Heart Rate Not Accurate!

I purchased the Charge 5 to replace my Alta HR. The main feature I use the device for is heart rate. The Charge 5 is very inaccurate, mainly when heart rate increases or decreases. There’s a long delay before it changes, but remains inaccurate. I’ve worn the Charge 5 and the Alta HR side-by-side and the Alta HR is always spot-on, when comparing to other devices, such as the heart rate feature on my blood pressure machine and oximeter. The Charge 5 isn’t even close most of the time. It’s been the same after multiple different firmware updates and resets. I highly regret purchasing the Charge 5 and do not recommend it whatsoever. I’ve cancelled my Fitbit Premium subscription and have gone back to wearing my old Alta HR. I will be looking into other brands, as Fitbit has really taken a turn for the worse under its new ownership.

Great product just wish the battery lasted longer. Lot's of bells and whistles that eat up battery life. Not saying that it's necessarily a bad thing, but just be aware.

    Charge 5 - Not all that good…

Charge 5 is not as good as the Fitbit Ionic that was recalled. Charge 5 GPS tracking is suspect as is heart rate. The fitness/training portion is too sensitive when going from activity to activity. The Fitbit Premium is a nice addition. I plan to return and try Fitbit Sense. Charge 5 is also difficult to synch. Overall my 3 rating could easily be a 2+. I really miss the dependable functionality of my Ionic.

Bought a new Fitbit charge 5 because old one was not holding its charge very good anymore. I traded it in and got credit towards purchase of new one! Great deal. They also improved the band.

It's excellent, I really like it. The only drawback I see is the charging system. Sometimes it doesn't make good contact.

I like the charge 5 because it is not too big or bulky, yet it gives me all the info I need and want. I also like that I am not constantly charging the battery,

Have been using Fitbit since Charge 3 and it has been helping me manage my daily calorie spending, lose weight and sleep time. Charge 5 update was a definite plus with its new colour display that gives clearer view especially in a direct sunlight

The Charge 5 is a really nice looking watch. I have had the Charge 2 and 4, but the 4 died after a year and 3 days! But the Charge 5 is a big step up. The display is good and you can choose watch faces that are very readable in sunlight. The lose of the altimeter is the only short coming but not a big one for me as it is pretty flat where I live. The watch band is a hugh improvement and is softer and more conformalble to your wrist. The lack of a buckle is great and now it doesn't get snagged as much as the old designs. All watches should use this type of strap. The software is good and easy. It seems a bit faster than my old C'4. Don't hesitate, just get one for your self.

My wife loves it and does not want to move to an Apple Watch because she loves it so much. Tracks her walking, shows text and other messages from her iPhone. Lots of bands out there to dress it up.

I got the Charge 5 to replace my Charge 3. The screen is much better so it was worth it right there. Outside of that, it does what is expected.I did notice my skin was a little dry under the band.
