I am trying to help him to set it up but there is very little detail supplied. I suppose the manufacturer thinks everyone knows all about fitbits.... I do have it charged. I'll write more after I find a good "fitbit for dummies and old folks" youtube site.

Works well until it doesn't

However, after a few months of use, the side buttons stopped working and it eventually shut down and wouldn't charge. It came with a one year warranty so I was able to get it replaced for free. After a few months, the exact same thing happened again. It was still within warranty, so I got it replaced again. After another few months, unsurprisingly, the same thing happened yet again. This time, it was out of warranty so the best Fitbit could offer me was 30% off a new product. After going through 3 products in a year and a half, I don't think I will be trying my luck on another one.

Overpriced

Save yourself the money and buy a basic tracker for $25. This one is not waterproof and irritates the skin when wet. Does, track jogging, biking or walking separately.

Great deal & product

I love my purchase and seeing the notifications is good enough for me, I'm usually unable to answer at work anyway and keeps me on track with my fitness goals. Can't really provide feedback on the water lock since I don't use it.
