Arrow Video & Studio Canal's collaboration on the transfer of Flash Gordon is a stunning example of the 4K UHD format. If you're a diehard fan of the film, Arrow Video as well as Studio Canal (both released their own versions of the same transfer) have deluxe editions of this film opposed to this single-disc release. No matter which edition you get, know that the preservation of this film has never looked better.

Loved this movie since it came out in 1980. Nice to own a 4K copy so I can watch it whenever the mood strikes. Looks great and has enough extras to keep me entertained. Would recommend to any fans of the film.

For fans of Flash this is the way to go. Unlike a lot of older films restored in 4k, this looks amazing with minimal issues at the higher res. You still see a little of the shadowing around ships as they fly by, but no different than the blu ray version. I’d buy the bigger set which includes “Life After Flash” that follows the life of Sam Jones and the struggles he’s endured.

Wow! what a blu ray. Watching this 4K transfer was an absolute joy. The colors, the sound. I was giddy watching it again. This was a treat for me. This is the best looking transfer I have ever seen it. The audio, whoa!, the bass that was missing in the previous DVD's and Blu ray's is now there. Thank you Arrow. What ever you folks are doing, please keep on doing it. My hats off to you.

I purchased a 4K player and wanted a few movies to test the players functionality and viewing experience. I saw this movie and it hit me like a brick. I had to purchase it. A positive cult classic and available in 4k. It cannot get any better than this and I had to purchase it. Great 4k quality, great for the nostalgic ages and good story line. Awesome music-Queen.

It's Flash Gordon - what more needs to be said? Joking aside, this cheesy action movie has never looked or sounded better and I love it! Dolby Vision really makes the colors pop and stand out - they are incredibly vibrant. Perhaps it would have benefited from an Atmos track, but for an old 80's movie, the included track does not disappoint.

I pre ordered this was soon as I could... The problem being the BB website wasn't very specific and I thought I had ordered the 4k with Blu Ray combo edition... So I have Flash Gordon 4k with no 4k player so I can't say if it's any different from the old Blu Ray I own ... On the plus side the price was great for a new 4k disc ...... that I can't watch.

It's very cool that independent companies like Arrow Video are already producing 4K releases, like this Flash Gordon release. The single-disc edition is the cheapest, but you do lose out on a 2nd disc of bonus features. Noticeably missing is the "Life After Flash" documentary, but I still decided on the standard release simply for the lower price.

This movie, while not big on character development, is still a fun movie. The Queen soundtrack is unforgettable. One thing about older movies, special effects flaws can become much more noticeable in 4K UHD. In the beginning, with the capsule containing Flash, Dale and Zarkov. If you watch the Hawkmen, their wings become transparent. It was no different with similar special effects-laden movies like "The Empire Strikes Back", which had similar problems. Despite the issues, it's still a worthwhile addition to your 4K movie collection.

I was in sheer disbelief of this new 4K transfer. It looks like it could have been shot yesterday and mastered today. The color is rrally something to behold. Arrow is as good if not better at the restoration game than your heavy hitters like Criterion. And always major points for including the original stereo track.

I was very happy to hear that Flash Gordon would be released in 4K by Arrow and really appreciate the effort. The 4K visuals with Dolby Vision really bring out the color palette of this movie. I won't comment on the actual movie because you're going to get it if you've seen it and liked it. I only deducted one star since it missed the chance for upgraded Dolby Atmos or DTS-X audio which would have really taken it to the next level. The DTS-HD soundtrack is adequate but just could have been better.

This is a cult classic that gives you comedy with a comic book feel that brings you back to the days of yester year.you will love how clear the picture has been digitally enhanced . It has excellent special features and is fun for the whole family.

I can’t add anything about Flash Gordon than what’s been said over the years since it’s release. Campy, dopey, silly, harmless, clunky…and so much more. But this 4K version is the best looking & sounding I’ve ever experienced with this one. Some fun extras by Arrow Video.

Arrow has put together one of the best 4K transfers to date. The close up shots are so clear it looks like it was filmed yesterday. There is definitely a major upgrade to the detail but where this 4K transfer shines is the HDR. Holy molly, the color in this movie is top notch!

Like a good class of whine. It never gets old and improves with age. In a time where CGI was nonexistent, there was Flash Gordon and doesn’t hurt where a good sound track to add on by no other than Queen mixes perfectly with the movie and action scenes that go with it. Go Flash Go.

Great movie in blu-ray even better in 4K. 3 hours of of Bonus Features and deleted scenes on the included blu-ray disc. That's why I still buy discs. Hard to find that additional content through streaming.

I just bought this 4K Movie . It's the best movie of all time. The Soundtrack by Queen. Great camera work and actor and actress's in Flash Gordon a classic. Brings me back when my dad told me about Flash Gordon he saw at the movie theaters as cliff hangers when he was young.

An incredible deal on a fantastic cheesy but well done film from my youth, done right as a 4K home viewing treasure trove!! I will be watching this a few times to catch all this detail!!!

Arrow did a good job with the stereo and 5.1 remix of the audio. The picture is stellar as well. The packaging is great. It does not come with a digital code which is a bummer
