It’s okay if you like games. I’m not a huge game person so it didn’t mean much to me.

I did not receive the iPad. I have called and chatted with customer service which did not resolve the problem. The picture below is the address it should have been sent to. I have even filed a police report to no avail, I expect more from Best Buy. At this time I am requesting an iPad be sent to me, scheduled for store pick up or a refund.

Don’t ever use this, not sure why it’s included for free

I’ve been using Apple Arcade for a while now, and honestly, it’s become one of my favorite ways to unwind. It feels refreshing to play games that are actually games, not storefronts disguised as entertainment. The library is surprisingly diverse. On days when I want something relaxing, I’ll pick up cozy titles like Wylde Flowers or Hello Kitty Island Adventure. When I’m in the mood for something more intense, I switch to action-heavy ones like Fantasian or Oceanhorn 2. The best part is that everything syncs across my devices, so I can start a game on my phone and continue it on my iPad or Mac without any hassle. Performance has been smooth for me.. fast loading times, great visuals, and no battery-draining nonsense in the background. It really feels like Apple curates the games instead of just dumping anything into the store.

Apple Arcade is… fine. Good, not great. If you’re already in the Apple world and want an easy, ad-free way to play a bunch of games with the family, it gets the job done. The catalog is big, the apps look nice, and “no ads, no in‑app purchases” is a breath of fresh air. But after the first couple weeks of trying stuff, it settles into “nice to have” more than “can’t live without it.” Getting started is dead simple: subscribe, browse, download, play. The Arcade tab looks slick, trailers pop right up, and parental controls/age ratings make it safe to hand off an iPad without worrying about mystery charges. Offline play is handy for flights or road trips, and iCloud saves usually keep progress synced across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Most games that need a controller support one, and pairing a gamepad is easy. The good news: there are plenty of genuinely fun games. You’ll find clever puzzlers, cozy builders, quick arcade-y stuff, some charming indies, and a few “wow, that’s better than I expected” originals. For families, it’s friendly. Kids can jump into a lot of titles without reading a manual, and there are tons of options that work for short sessions. If you want a simple couch rotation where everyone takes a turn, you can get there pretty fast. The not‑as‑good news: the library is a mixed bag. Lots of good, fewer great, and only a handful that feel essential. Discovery is hit-or-miss—recommendations feel generic, and it’s easy to scroll right past the gems. You’ll see plenty of “Arcade Edition” versions of known games without microtransactions, which is nice, but it also makes parts of the catalog feel familiar instead of fresh. Genres bunch up too; sometimes it’s wall‑to‑wall puzzlers or idle-ish builders with slight twists. Momentum fades a bit. It’s fun at first, then usage drops unless you make a point of trying the new releases. Some drops are solid, others are easy to skip. A few games feel great on iPad but cramped on iPhone; some play best on Apple TV with a controller but lose their magic on touch. Love that you can play anywhere; don’t love that some titles only feel “right” on one screen. Performance-wise, most games run smooth and load fast enough. On Apple TV it’s perfect for a quick 20-minute break. Just don’t expect console‑level epics—this is more bite‑size fun than big, deep adventures. Is it worth it? If you’re on Apple One or you’ve got multiple people in the house who’ll try different games, sure. If it’s just you and you’re picky, you might churn—play the hits, then forget about it for a while. The real perk is the frictionless “try anything” vibe and the super clean, kid-safe experience. Bottom line: Apple Arcade is a solid, family-friendly buffet with a few standouts and a lot of decent options. Polished, safe, convenient… and usually forgettable. If you want easy, ad‑free variety and you’ll actually explore the library, it earns a spot. If you’re chasing must‑play hits or deep, long‑form games, it’s background entertainment—not your main platform.
