It was nicely packaged and just as easy to start up as any other apple watch. The larger face than the previous apple watches was a cool benefit. I will say (like most people have aaid and reviewed) if you dont plan on using the watch for physical axtivity related things, i just dont think its worth the price. Get the series 8 instead. The person i got it for goes to the gym daily, runs marathons, and hikes. The band was much more beautiful than i thought it would be from looking online.
