When talking about audio there is a lot of reviews in the audiophile world that will lead you to think you need a super expensive DAC to hear all the detail. Let me tell you one thing. Unless you have very high end headphones you will need it, otherwise this will do the job. In general, this adapter (DAC) is small, the construction is nice, plastics are similar to apple products, the cable is also covered with nylon which gives a solid sensation, it uses the lightning port so it works with any iPad and iPhone with this port. It is plug and play and works with headsets. The audio quality is good. I tested it with a couple of sennheiser and AKG headphones and the frequency response is good, the volumen was not so high with the AKG but knowing these usually are hard to power I’ll blame them instead the adapter. Finally the only con is you can’t charge while hearing your headphones but for the price this is perfect.
