I went to a BB store to ask about a projector and screen for watching movies outside. I drew him a map of my backyard and the setup I wanted, including specifically the necessary throw distance for the projector. The rep recommended I pay $99 for an in-home geek squad consultation. So the GS rep comes out, I tell her what I want, and some time later I get a proposal that says BB doesn't sell the equipment I need -- specifically, they don't sell projectors that throw that far. The proposal didn't offer an alternative (like moving the projector closer) and didn't explain what I specs I DO need in a projector, which is what I wanted, so I can't even go find it elsewhere. to top it off, BB quoted me $2300 for in-home speakers and other equipment I did not ask for. It was worse than useless because I had to pay $99 for it, and I'm no closer to figuring out what setup I need than when I started. I'm not the type to complain but BB keeps sending me emails pestering me for a review, so here you go.

Matt was able to put together a home entertainment system that met our needs and that suited our new home. Installation by Geek Squad was quick and clean, but follow up visits to address issues with remote components were difficult to obtain. We were told by at least three different associates that they would have avoided setting the system up that way. We are working to resolve the issue and Matt stepped in to suggest an alternative that should work better for us.

The Magnolia installers are awesome. When I had my 55" curved Samsung (mod. #UN55KS9500) LED 4K Super-Ultr with only the Samsung curved sound bar and subwoofer installed, I was blown away. Clarity and sharpness can't be beat. My theater room is only 8' x 9' and this is the perfect size. Two leather recliners, a few lamps, cup holders, sit back, relax and enjoy the action/game with snacks and "cold one". Worth every cent. Oh yes, also enjoying our new 75" Samsung (UN75KU6300) 2160P Smart UHD in the family room when company comes over and additional seating is needed. Getting ready to have surround installed in the family room. Can't wait.

Overall, service was just ok. Tech did not set up wireless router properly so had to call out U-verse Rep to fix problem.

Service seemed to be excellent until we realized that the job was not complete as the components of the job were synced as promised. Also we were sold another router when apparently we needed something else. The people from Geek Squad gave us their number and email and promised to help if things were problematic, but didn't return either the call or the email. Better to get a professional from the start.

My tv install also included a new Pioneer SC85 receiver, sony Blu-ray player, apple tv, BDI tv stand, and Bowers and Wilkins Speakers and center speaker, with a Harmony universal remote. They also set up my outside speakers with the B setting on the Pioneer for my 25 CD changer.The entire system works great and I'm very impressed with John Terry from Magnolia and the Geek Squad set up crews were all very accommodating and informative. Would definitely recommend their services. John kept me informed with all the steps thru the process allowing me to decide unpressured with answers to all my questions. He had suggestions and recommendations that I found to be very good.

The agent tried to infome about connections and speeds and sounds and quality. Just went over my head

Dave Herbison was absolutely wonderful on the consultation. We know exactly what we need. No hard sale, answered our many questions and has continued to answer questions. We only bought part of recommendation at this time and will continue to add as we can. We ended up getting apple TV and remote that combines all 5 of our other remotes. How wonderful is that!! Aaron and Alicha from the geek squad installed and spent time showing us how to use everything. We did not feel rushed. They were very patient with our questions and showing BOTH of us how to use it. After this wonderful experience we will continue to be Best Buy customers and use the Geek squad and Magnolia consultants.

The Geek Squad guys are super nice and friendly. We have had issues with some things and are still working on them. They are always available.

The consultation by the BestBuy consultant was excellent. He was on time and called ahead to make sure we knew when to expect him. He was very personable and listened to what we wanted and was very patient to spend the almost two hours going over every detail of the set up we wanted and how it would work. He took the time he needed and was never rushing to finish. He always let us know that it was our choice of product and never was pushy or trying to sell any product. We always felt he had our best interest and even suggested we did not need a TV too large for our room. He then met us at BestBuy and helped us to select all of the items we needed for our system. It was a great experience.

I had a previously installed $20k home theater system from a custom home audio/visual company. Seven years later, it needed to be updated to the latest technology. Initially I was looking to use the same boutique company for the purchase and installation of the equipment but went to my local Best Buy/Magnolia store to check out my options. The initial home consultation was great, and I decided to use Best Buy for the purchase and installation. I truly appreciated the unbiased evaluation with the goal being to meet and exceed my needs and not some inflated audiphile ego standard. It was seamless and I should have done so earlier. Great price, great equipment and great service!

The consultant was knowledgeable, but felt the focus was on selling us higher dollar products than what we need or want to spend.

Installed Sanus mount and routed coax and connections through wall, hung television. Only demerit being some of the allen screws and bolts were a bit loose and caused television to list when pulled out and to the side. A quick call remedied the situation but they should have nailed such a detail while at the house. Would, however, heartily recommend the geek squad up here in northern michigan.

I highly recommed having an in-home consultation when dealing with AV equipment. These guys really know their stuff, unlike other companies we have dealt with in the past, and they look for ways to improve upon your set-up according to your actual needs (not nickel and dime you to death for things you don't!). Trey (our rep) was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about every aspect of AV work and we ended up feeling better off because we had the consultation first and he coordinated everything for us. Super simple and the money was credited back on what we purchased for the install! This was seriously a no brainer!

I wouldn't necessarily pay for this service but as a free addition it is a nice add on to make sure you are doing things right

We had a consultant come to our home to look at our set up. He was very thorough in looking through everything, and very nice. Would have received five stars, but did not leave any of the information he went over with us because he didn't want us to price match. Totally understandable, but I like to read reviews of items before making a large purchase, and this has made it so I am unable to.

I found out that the store clerk scheduled a Geek who was "blacked", when Best Buy called the day before. Instead of talking to her supervisor, she cancelled my consult. I went to the store to re-schedule, but found out the next day that the store manager scheduled a Geek who did installs of home theater systems, but claimed he knew about home camera systems. We will see...

Phil left before all our questions were answered. When we called as he suggested in case we had questions, he didn't respond directly. His phone message referred us to the 800 number and told us to schedule a tv diagnostic to determine the problems with our brand new TV and receiver. In too much of a hurry. We paid for two installations and the second was so simple he required little time to finish.

I was provided with an estimate for installation and use of a projection theater system in my basement. It turned out that the cost outweighed the benefit when compared to utilizing a LCD TV. It was suggested that I continue with the purchase of the LCD TV based on the length of the room the projector would be placed in and the lighting the location had to offer. I decided to go with the technicians suggestion and purchased a 60" LCD TV. I would recommend having someone come out to take the measurements, look at the lighting and provide you with options before purchasing a projector and screen for home theater arrangement.

I stopped by the Mansfield Mass store and scheduled a consultation for the following Wednesday. The consultant, do not have his name, was very good and recommended the Sonos sound bar and two external speakers for the TV room Speakers can also be moved to different rooms for radio and music. Installer (Dave Martins)was great, he worked efficiently bringing a floor mat with him to sort out the equipment not allowing anything on the hardwood floors. He removed all leftover cardboard and debris leaving only the two boxes I had asked him to. He programmed the remote to handle all activities. Very Happy with whole experience.
