The Geek Squad gave ma an in home consultation for whole home audio and surround sound ideas in the new home we are building. They were extremely knowledgeable and had great ideas. And even better the price was fair and affordable. They were more knowledgeable and better priced than the home audio/home theater companies out there. Would recommend using the Geek Squad for whole home audio and surround sound/theater planning and installation.

Generally ok. A lot of questions couldn't be answered.

We set up a home TV consult at the local best buy. The sales people did not know if the Best Buy Employee coming to our home would bring a computer or how the consult was actually done. We were a little disappointed that the representative arrived with just a pad & pen to record our measurements & items to be purchased. We could not refer to anything visually so it was difficult to see & understand what we were going to purchase. No real follow up after the visit. In addition the estimate provided was ridiculously high- $2,000 itemized for the Geek Squad!!! Yikes that's more than the equipment was going to cost. We paid $100 for the visit which we were told if we had them do the install would be a credit to our purchases & installation. Don't feel this was worth the visit.

In truth, I don't really have a standard of comparison as I didn't use anyone else but I've used them twice over ten years (home theater, home theater upgrade) and I love these guys. My room is terribly designed for a home theater (open walls, angles, vaulted ceiling) and everything sounds great anyway. I also have several modern and legacy items all hooked up and they all work great.

Setting up appointment was a breeze, Technician was excellent, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable with great suggestions, etc (Troy Ringering)...I have used this service several times in the past and have not been disappointed. He returned with the equipment we chose, installed, set up, trained and followed up several times to be sure everything was satisfactory..

I could not be happier with the service I received from my Geek Squad Representative, Paul and the two installers who set up my new system. Paul has helped me several times with troubleshooting my system after the Directv install required some new settings to be coordinated via my WiFi. Wonderful people and so prompt and courteous. I have recommended Best Buy to several of my friends as a result.

It was great having the consultant come directly to our home prior to our purchase. This allowed us to have the consultant truly understand the unique problems that we faced with a television and speaker installation. The Geek Sqad Consultant was great and spent a great deal of time detailing suggestions based on his onsite observations. The free consultation was great

We recently moved into a newly constructed home. We had a lot of audio equipment from a much larger home with a number of audio zones. We wanted to use as much of our existing equipment as possible, realizing that our new home design wouldn't accommodate all of it. The agent was very helpful in advising us on design and additional equipment recommendations. He listened carefully and never did we feel pressure.

I am very happy that I did the in home consultation. I was planning on purchasing a new 65" television, and this helped me understand what I needed. We were able to discuss what equipment I had that would still work with the new television and what I would need to replace including receiver, HDMI cables, etc. I have already recommended this service to several friends.

When being sold, they made it sound like these guys would do everything. I left my iMac in the box so all warranties, etc, would be intact. They told me they would not take the computer out of the box and set-up. I had to do that quickly while they were there. I'm not a fan of "that's not my job" mentality. However, once I got the computer out they got everything running. They were courteous and quick. One used my bathroom. Maybe most people wouldn't care but I'd never do that myself. Sat on my new couch while testing the TV. Again, seemed unprofessional. Maybe I'm just old school and 90% of people don't care about that kind of stuff because they'd act the same way. If my company, they'd be trained differently.

The man who came out to review our home entertainment situation was on time, very responsive, and super easy to work with. He gladly educated me on the many options I had regarding products, and sent my estimate the same day. We were in the store looking into products and coincidentally ran into the same guy who came to the house and he gladly showed me all fo the things we had talked about.

Consultant was very helpful. Came to the house, looked carefully at the room for the theater, and then made very good recommendations. Recommendations took into account our wishes and budget. We changed a couple of things, but my online research supported what was recommended. When you take into account the fact that the fee is credited back to your purchase, it was a very worthwhile service.

My consultation was with a gentleman name Alejandro and was very nice and professional. He was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining the set up. Only thing I'm disappointed in was that he could not provide me with a print out of the consult, meaning the things he was suggesting/hardware went with him so could not have them for price matching ahead of time.

We purchased a 50 inch Samsung Smart TV and it is working well. We are learning how to access the internet and the other options for the TV. It was much easier to work than we thought. We were able to connect to the internet easily as the directions for this were easy to understand. We had a member of the Geek squad come out and consult us on the size we could get and his advice was good.

Brandon Shaw did not make the original appointment due to a busy schedule. He came the next day and we discussed the possible choices for my situation. He said he would email me the quote the next day with prices for all components and we could meet that Friday at the Kimball Junction Best Buy to finalize the transaction. I have never had a response from Brandon - his phone mail box is full and he did not answer his email. i spent about an hour on the phone (5 separate calls) to finally reschedule the consultation on January 21 with Zack.

Contractor carved out a specific space in the wall for the TV. Consultant had trouble locating specific dimensions that would fit the TV on website. Had to help her by going to various manufacturers’ websites to help locate the one that fits the space.

BB consultant analyzed existing home entertainment system on-site and developed options for purchase and installation of new components to upgrade system. Consultant called to confirm appointment and was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He listened carefully to our "wish list" and made recommendations accordingly. Follow-up proposals were sent as described in a timely manner.

Best Buy came to the house to give us the information we requested about a home entertainment system. We had suggest one system, but were UP GRADED to a system, that we purchased, were pushed to do several up grades, which rain the cost up. When the Geek Squad came to install they said it WOULD NOT work properly with our type of internet. So what he suggest was exactly what we started with when we went to the store in the first place. This was a very bad experience for us with you Store.

Person was very knowledgeable and helpful, but don't be mistaken, they are there to make a sale. Don't expect someone to come over, give you advice and then give you time to think about your options before pushing for a sale.

My husband and I received great service from Best Buy and the Geek Squad. All of the equipment works great and the installation was done perfectly. We will be repeat customers considering the level of service that's always provided by your staff. It's also very nice that the Geek Squad gave us their business cards, they said to call them personally if we ever have a question.
