Not happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consultation itself went fine but that is it. Took 2 weeks longer than was informed. When went to store for help was told to call GeekSquad. When called was put on hold approximately 6-8 times so "help" could verify something. Still no resolution. Had to call back again . Was then told they left message for consultant and they would contact me within 48 hours. If not go back to store to talk with manager. 5 days later I finally received my email with no contact or apology. Nothing. Used Best Buy many times over the years but this makes me re think the next purchase.

Waste of time and money.

The consultant should have known. The installers did not complete the install and even left 1 item boxed in the middle of the room when they exited further overall they were sloppy and reckless. I have a scratched wood floor that I am additionally left to deal with the repair.

Unnecessary expense, terms not disclosed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.On the morning of my appointment, I learned that because I could not buy the furniture I had planned on, I would no longer need (or want) my television to be installed over the fireplace. I called Best Buy and was told that a 24 hour prior notice was required to cancel an appointment. This was not disclosed to me beforehand. When the serviceman arrived and I explained the situation, he said if I had notified him prior to his arriving, he would have just cancelled the appointment and refunded my payment. So because of the misinformation I was given by the salesperson, I paid $90.00 for nothing. I have not shopped at Best Buy since this occurrence and will undoubtedly make future purchases elsewhere when possible.

I received two other estimates from competition that came for site visit days after Best Buy with 48 hours. Also the quote wasn't even accurate and included hardware that I have already purchased.

Still waiting for estimate. I am okay with the wait but I need estimate to make decision on store purchase of products, missing out on sales :(

Promised a report for a consultation. Never got it

My husband complained yesterday at the store and we will be having a second Best Buy visit this Wednesday. Stay tuned . . .

no proposal ever given
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I asked for a proposal for equipment and installation to upgrade our outdated equipment in our meeting room (local fire department). One guy came out to take pictures and see what our layout was like. He claimed he was going to send information to the "Business Geek Squad." I never received a proposal from them. I tried to contact them twice via email, and went to the local store 4 times. I guess they are not interested in the work. I would've liked to present more than one proposal, but only one Audio Video vendor presented a proposal out of 6. Over 2 months have gone by now.

Fell between the cracks

Because it was a complicated setup, I spent $100.00 to have a consultant come to my house to suggest my best options. He came, told me he would have a few different suggestions and would get back to me within a week. Never called. I spoke to the store twice on the phone. I still have not heard a word 1 month later. Guess I'm gonna spend my 4-5K somewhere else

Surround sound salesman

Now the guy i bought my surround sound from i payed to come in my house. That is a different story, i am about ready to take surround sound back. Universal remote i bought is still not linked to my xbox one he told me i should buy. I can not listen to pandora on the reciever he told me i should have. My wife has to drive 30 miles to store twice to try and get this taken care of. Very unproffesional. Not only i spend over 4k on surround sound i might just take my businees some where else.

Not anything like promised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sold on allowing an "expert" to come to my house, examine acoustics and room dimensions to determine type of home theater system best suited for my needs. I was attempting to discern between a sound bar or full-fledged system. However, when the "expert" appeared, he had no clue why he was even making the visit. When I advised of the reason, he made a quizzical look then provided generic information. ie- "umm, you want to put a few speakers behind your couch." While I will likely purchase a system from BB, I believe this process - and $99 charge - is a huge waste of time and money.

No follow up call

Consultant came and we discussed in length set up for wiring, equipment, etc. we asked for itemized quote. Few days later received one page summary with one number to drop cable only. Not itemized. Sent email for requesting additional costs. No further communication from consultant. At the time of appointment we discussed time frame since it is a new construction. We have since hired BloGlow in Fort Worth.

Horrible Service

I had a consultant come to my house for his opinion on the best ideas for a home theatre system. He didnt call until he was at my house, was supposed to call and give me a time frame. Then after he checked out everything, he never sent me a proposal. I went to the store and someone there helped me out but now i lost my $100 I paid for the service and never received, the so called experts, different options. This experience has changed my thoughts on using Best Buy for future purchases

Great idea in theory...

The installer was very knowledgeable on possibles as well as the current line of products at the store. He promised to email me with his specific recommendations. I never received an email even after 4+ weeks other than I will have your quote/ideas done by the start of next week... The in home consult is a great idea in theory. Just wish it could of been completed. Must say I cannot recommend the in home services.

Did not complete task

He promised to email me with his specific recommendations. I never received an email (i will check in my Junk Mail; perhaps it is hiding there). And, I called his cell twice since his visit without receiving a response. Please get him to get back to me or I will have to request a refund of the $99 I paid for this consultation. Thanks.

Poor response and follow up

However, he never followed up with recommendations or pricing. I called Best Buy customer services to request a follow up contact howver, to date, I have not received anything. Further to add insult, I just got my Best Buy bill for $100 for a servcie that was never provided. I am prepared to spend several thousands of dollars, however, I will look to another provider if Best Buy cannot not complete the transaction.

AT first it was GREAT...

You can see them, and there was never quotes to have other options. Then I was left with 4 remotes, at the ned of the process he said he forgot to mention a all in one controller. Then that he would only charge $50.oo more to come out again and program it. Like it was my fault he did not include this in the proposal, so insufficient, and annoying to have 4 controllers.
