I think you should either lower the cost or design filters that require annual replacement.

Recommended Air Filter for some LG Refrigerators

So decided to go with the manufacturer's recommendation. It gives peace of mind knowing that the product is not a substitute or possibly compatible when it comes to your food and health. You save a little more if use the subscription.

Reliably fresh fridge air

As long as you replace it within the general time frame allotted, you won’t either. It is great when you can rely on a product to do what it claims.
