When I shredded cheese, the shreds were so light that they melted quickly into the sauce. This replaced a huge hand cranked device that I had been using. Just love this!

Word of advice - if you're going to try cheese, it does gum up a bit unless the cheese is hard! Other than this, it's great.

Worth it

She loved it and it worked better then the off brand version we purchased else where. Only issue it that it is hard to clean the grater, but that's a problem on the old hand style As well.
