WOW this is compact, super powerful and a lot less noisy than my last AC unit. Plus it has a EER rating of 11.2 which means it should save me a lot of $ and it has all the bells and whistles you could ever want. I have it in my bedroom and I leave the door open and it cools the rest of the apartment down with ease ( 900sq) On the high position you can feel the draft 25 feet away. I had to put my last AC unit ( which was also 12.000 BTU) on 60 degrees just to cool the bedroom and hall way...this unit is set at 70 degrees and the whole apartment is cool. I live south Florida and this unit is a game changer for sure. This is my 10th AC unit so I know what I am talking about.

This 12,000 BTU FRIGIDAIRE model has kept a 650 sq. ft. area perfectly cool and dry for the last month of very hot August summer temperatures. The average daily outdoor temperature has been 90 with high humidity for weeks on end and this unit has kept the indoor temperature in the low to mid 70's in an old house with 80-year old insulation (low R-value). When away - and now most of the time when present - the unit has been in the "econ" mode, which keeps the indoor temp within 6 degrees of the "Set" temperature, never going below that set point. It's been a pleasure to return after being away in high heat for 12 hours and have four large rooms feel comfortable and dry. When I first installed it, the normal "cool" mode took the hot and humid space from 88 degrees down to 74 degrees in two hours. (In the "econ" mode, the unit keeps the indoor temp between 72-77.) After one month of perfect performance in high heat, I can highly recommend the unit. As far as noise, it's quieter than the 5-year old 9,000 BTU model it replaced.

I purchased this air conditioner for my living room because my 6,000 BTU older A/C stopped working and I'm so happy I purchased this unit. My living room is over 600 square feet and in under 5-10 minutes the entire living room is extremely cold! Even my kitchen cools down and I'm so happy that I was able to get this for $310.00. It's a great price for a very powerful air conditioner. I just wish that the A/C could connect it to Wi-Fi.

We are returning this product. It does not cool a room very well even at the coolest temperature.

My downstairs area is actually about 900 square ft, but I close off a couple of rooms when they aren't in use. We found this AC on sale for a great price, along with a mail-in rebate. This isn't nearly as loud as the portable AC it replaces, and it cools quickly. I don't really like having a window unit on the 1st floor, but it comes with brackets and screws to help secure it. I also secure the windows with wood blocks and such, so I'm not too worried. I almost went with a bigger unit, but the sale on this was so good I decided to gamble. My house is well insulated anyway. I'm glad I took the chance.

I ordered this air conditioner to replace the 6000 btu unit that was installed on the main level of my home by the previous owner. Needless to say that old unit was useless for a main level, which is 755sf. I ordered this unit on a Friday evening and it arrived on Tuesday afternoon. My handyman installed it today -- having to do a bit of gymnastics to get it into the small window of my 85 year old DC townhome. Today was not a terribly hot day ( about 82 degrees out), but it was incredibly humid and these old brick homes hold an insane amount of heat in the summer . I blasted the unit on the coldest and highest settings to get the humidity out as soon as possible. Within just under two hours of installation the entire floor from the front door to the kitchen was ice cold. The dining room, where the unit was installed, was unbearable. I then turned the setting to 68 degrees and the lowest setting. After an hour it was still incredibly cold, even in the usually baking hot living room and the kitchen where I was -in fact- baking chicken. I again increased the temp to 70 and left it in the lowest setting (which is relatively quiet). It's just about comfortable now. I have no doubt this thing will stand up well to the DC summer. Awesome purchase!

We are happy with the purchase. It keeps my entire master suite cool, but does run a little loud.

Cooling works quickly and as promised. However, you cannot have a conversation or watch TV when it's on. It's like having a Mack truck in your living room. I'm returning it.

Efficient, can turn on and will cool my 3 room area in about an Hr.

I purchased this 12,000 BTU unit to replace a 12 year old Samsung 12,500 BTU air conditioner. It does a decent job of keeping the place cool. The noise is not much of an issue for me because I prefer to have the fan and condenser power as a trade off. I like the energy saving features. A couple of quality issues, however. One of the directional louvers was off the auger wheel when we unpackaged the product. And the thermometer calibration seems to be off about 8 degrees F. To maintain the room temp at 72 F as displayed on the thermostat, the sir conditioner is set at 64 F. With the Samsung it was set at 72 F to maintain a 72 F room temp. I will work with service to see if they can fix the louver and recalibrate the thermometer. If not, I'll return this unit for a replacement. I could recommend if they fix these issues or if the replacement does not have the same or similar quality issues. For now, sadly no since the jury is out.

Air conditioner works good. I've had A/c that blew harder and colder but this will do the job. I got the delivery on the A/C unit 19 hours later. WOW right? But the mounting bracket that was purchased on the same order still hasn't arrived a week later.. Ugh

This airconditioner is extremely too loud. It definately cools any good size large room down that is reccommended for this unit, however, I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone simply based on the loudness of it.

this AC kept a small home cool and served its purpose will likely throw it in the upstairs hallway next summer to keep it cool again...water does build up in the AC and the draining could be better.

Purchased for my living room. Not disappointed ...works great...blows cold, easy install (thru the wall install for me) . So grateful it's cooler in my home now...Florida July weather is so hot and humid....

We were looking for something that would cool an open floor plan that spans 4 - rooms. This unit is wonderful and exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this for anyone.

It worked well and was fairly quiet. We used it for one season. When we went to turn it on the next season, it made a loud whining noise and didn't work. I will no longer buy Frigidaire products.

Hazards of buying online is that air conditioner arrived dented and front piece was cracked -Price was low so you get what you pay for -Cools great the important thing but sounds like an old 747 -so wear ear plugs !

This doesn't even cool my 252sq ft room. Air flow really only comes out of the left side for this and my 6,000btu frigidare. You can't feel any air flow from the right vent, until your hand gets 15" from that vent. High sounds like low. It's sad and ridiculous that they say this is energy efficient. I know why...because it doesn't cool your room. And the vents can only move right and left, not up and down like the old ones. Piece of junk, both of them. I have a very old, 5,000btu frigidare that freezes us out of the 12 x 14 living room. It has great air flow, very cold and it's still kicking. Also, it doesn't have any mold like these newer air conditioners get in no time. The newer stuff is garbage, doesn't work well, dies quickly and just fills up landfills. Half of the remotes don't work right and they should just be ashamed. Except for my living room, the rest of the house is 75°, with 3 newer frigidares set on 66, curtains closed, on a sunny, 88° day, with a real feel of 91°. I wouldn't give these things to my worst enemy. Waste of money and junk.

We recently bought this AC in the 12K BTU model and it is not very effective and the compressor is very noisy. We have the same AC in our bedroom in an 8K or 10K BTU size (probably 10K) and I'm much happier with that performance than with the 12K BTU model. Our space might be a tad on the large end of coverage for 12,000 BTU's, but our last AC was 12K and worked just fine. The compressor here is noisy, though when just the fan runs, it's ok. Overall, I am not thrilled with this appliance.
