Bought this fridge as an open-box special despite online reviews saying it was loud -- I figured maybe they were exaggerating. In all honesty, some of them certainly are; however, this fridge turned out to be loud enough that I opted to return it and pay an extra $75 (after a $75 EnergyStar rebate; if you're shopping for a refrigerator in this budget range, I highly suggest seeing if your local power company offers incentives for EnergyStar appliances) to exchange for an Insignia refrigerator of the same size. As of now I do not have that refrigerator yet -- as I write this, I can hear the current Frigidiare one humming away in the kitchen a wall away. This refrigerator seemed to work fine otherwise -- and by loud, I do not mean 'jet turbine' loud or anything, it is just a tad louder than I want in a refrigerator, especially since the bedroom in my apartment shares a wall with the kitchen which is right where the back of the refrigerator sits, and so when it's on, there is enough of an ambient 'brown noise' that it's fairly grating, and not worth the savings for me. This fridge would likely be great for a basement, or maybe a garage in a mild enough climate, or a household where some mild noisiness doesn't matter much -- a smaller space, like an apartment, is not where you'd want this fridge, as the noise is, while not defeaning by any means, kind of irritating. It also must be said that the ergonomics of the thing are not impressive. The handles are big and unwieldy and do not feel particularly sturdy, I do not care for the overall shape of the doors, the wire shelving inside the fridge is rather dull, and the cheap plastic shelving on the doors is (in my opinion) not very well designed and, alas, does not seem as if it'd be very durable either. Obviously, if you're on a budget and looking for a refrigerator, you're willing to make some sacrifices in form factor and features to foot the bill. For me, the noise was just a bit too much of a sacrifice, and so I'm opting for something quieter (based on reviews).

I made the mistake of purchasing based on the price. This Frigidaire unit is unbearably noisy. It makes an unacceptable high pitched whine and runs constantly. Had to exchange and finally found Whirlpool to be so much more quiet when running. Don't buy this model, way too noisy when running!

That pretty much sums it up: it's a good, no frills fridge. It keeps my food cold. Ultimatey, that's all you really need. Although, the Geek Squad didn't level the fridge when they installed it so now the motor makes a hellacious noise intermittently. When I finally figured out what the issue (and fix) was, the Geek Squad wanted nothing to do with me. Where's the love, Geek Squad? Why the cold shoulder. You don't return my calls anymore! Was it something I did?! Why hast thou forsaken me???!!! Seriously though, it's a good fridge. Buy it. Just make sure it's leveled correctly.

We've owned this fridge for only a couple of years now, and although it works okay, the electrical for the interior light bulb has since shorted, and the handle on the fridge broke in half a few days ago as I was opening the door--right where it screws into the top of the door. I've owned other refrigerators for a lot longer that never did anything like this.

The refrigerator seems to work fine and so does the freezer. It's been 2 months now and there is a gear-grinding type noise when the compressor first kicks on. It lasts for 15 or 20 seconds and then stops. It has progressively gotten slightly longer. I noticed a refrigerator made by Frigidaire in my office does something similar occasionally. Can Courtney from Frigidaire comment on this as I see she writes to comments often? Thank you in advance. Just want to know if I should expect a repair visit before the warrantee is up?

I bought this refrigerator for my office and I'm glad I did. Very nice for the right price.

We are using this for our company breakroom. It's perfect for what we needed.

We needed an inexpensive overflow fridge for our garage and settled on this model. Unfortunately the same thing keeps happening over and over again. The freezer freezes over and thus the pass through to the fridge freezes over and no longer cools the lower fridge and food goes bad. Professional repairs have been attempted with no improvement. This will be the last time I purchase a Frigidaire product.

Single guy, plenty of room for whatever I need. I'd suggest it.

Bought this fridge for use in the garage. Has worked great and has a good enough size to not occupy much space while holding lots of food and drinjs

My wife and I had to replace our Frigidaire refrigerator that we had had for around 14yrs. I saw this Frigidaire 18 Cu fridge listed on the Best Buy site and thought it seemed to be a great deal, Big MISTAKE!! We got the 1st fridge and noticed that within 3 days that the ice trays were barely frozen, I contacted Best Buy and they offered to replace it with a 2nd fridge of the same style. Well after 3 more days I noticed that it was doing the same exact thing as the 1st one not freezing my ice trays as well as other freezer items thawing down in the freezer. Now I am having to return this Frigidaire to Best Buy as well, And I am having to purchase a different brand that cost more! Never Again!!!!

I purchased this back in September and I'm already having so many issue, from door gasket coming off, water dripping inside the fridge, and a top all this it started making a loud noise every time it is cooling. Don't waste your money.

I'm giving one (1# star because the product was delivered in a timely manner. Upon arrival, the delivery guy noticed damaged to the fridge and the seal on the freezer was detached so they offer to replaced it #two (2# weeks later). After three #3) days, the loaner stopped getting cold and my veggies began to spoil. Of course, Best buy was unable to expedite the replacement so we've been using a cooler for the lst week and a half. Way to go Frigidaire and Best buy on being junk. I can only hope the replacement functions properly.

Best price for a stainless steel fridge. Looks great, but you can tell from some small things upon close inspection that it's not of high quality. Also, the blue shrink wrap they put on it is a pain to remove, and usually leaves some small streaks that I can't even get off by cleaning. 1 star off, still a good buy.

This is a noisy machine. Yesterday, on it's 6 month anniversary, the handle broke off the door. I would only recommend this unit to the clowns that built it.
