Died twice after 1 year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this refrigerator based in part on the reviews on Best Buy. It worked fine for close to a year, although it's very poorly designed as you can't see many items which were in the back of the fridge - much food spoiled and was thrown away. On the other hand, it IS one of the cheapest refrigerators out there. After barely a year, it started making strange sound. We paid for the repair - the fan was crumbling in the back of the fridge. Few days ago it stopped freezing. And now it doesn't refrigerate either. Probably the worst appliance we've ever bought.

At least it didn't blow up like the Samsung Note 7
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ah, reading all the one-star reviews makes me want to have a get-together for all of us to bash Fridgidare. All the problems reported I've had too. Refrigerator door came off in my hand at three months. Seal looked like like it was twenty years old at five months and was replaced. Bulb blew out about the same time and we thought well, kind of early, but we'll get another bulb. The new one worked sometimes and didn't work at other times. When the temperature in the fridge reached almost 60 degrees, the unit holding the bulb started a high pitched noise that came and went. Technician's diagnosis? Defective cooling unit. Replaced. As someone mentioned, we were told to keep half the fridge and the freeze free of food so nothing would freeze/not freeze. Might as well have a campus-size fridge. Then the seal came ENTIRELY off the bottom half of the door; you should have heard the WHOOOOSHing sound it made before we duct-taped it on. The freezer is dripping water at highest cool and at the same time, everything is covered with frost. I NEVER wanted this refrigerator, BB told me (despite my saying I have had a large refrigerator in the past) that it was all I could get into the house. Now we have figured out how to get around that, and I'm having this not-quite-seven-month-old piece of junk taken away on Saturday and a Whirlpool delivered. Stay away. Stay far away.

BEWARE - Freezer door pops open, when frigdoor shut
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a problem w/this frig! When you shut the frig door, the freezer pops open a crack just enough to thaw everything. You need to hold your hand on the freezer door when you shut the Frig door.... (not slam shut), which we finally figured out and now keep forgetting to do. But do you want to remember to do this on a NEW frig?? Its been 3 months and I've lost all the Costco meats in our freezer at least 4 times before uncovering the issue. Please NOTE --(as I depended on reviews too ... and investigated the reviews) --- You will likely see 4-5 star ratings right after I post this "1" star which will be done to outweigh it (they are product reviewers given the product for free for good reviews). --- I PAID FOR MY FRIG!

Posted .Zlake6000, I am happy to learn of your recent purchase and certainly apologize that you are experiencing some difficulties with the doors. If the freezer door pops open when the refrigerator door is closed we would recommend raising the front legs equally to create a half bubble tilt to the rear, put some product in the freezer door to add weight and of course don’t slam the Fresh Food door! Hope this helps you love your new appliance. Kindly, Jennifer

Loud humming/buzzing Fridge at your service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got the fridge today and it's got this annoying constant humming/buzzing sound. As I'm sitting here typing this review I can hear constant humming sound. Do not buy this fridge unless you are going to put it in a basement. It will DRIVE YOU CRAZY.

Broke twice in a couple of months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one we got stopped working altogether after a couple of weeks. Its replacement stopped cooling the refrigerator area (the freezer still works) after about a month. And yes, like other reviewers said, it is very loud.

Defective Seal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased our fridge one year ago and the seal on the freezer door is already defective. We replaced our old 18 year old fridge for the same reason. Now we are faced wtih either buying a new fridge or trying to install a new seal.

Posted .Hey PortlandGirl, thank you for sharing your review with us. We certainly apologize that the door seal is causing you problems. If the gasket is not torn you may want to try a few things; Try to massage the gasket to make sure it is seated into the channel. You can also heat the gasket with a hair dryer with the door closed. Please use caution and be careful not to damage the interior door panel or gasket by applying too much heat. You may find flipping the gasket to be the fix. In this case, remove the gasket from the door by pulling it out. Rotate the gasket half a turn (180 degrees). Reinstall the gasket by inserting the corners first then work towards the middle assuring that it is fully seated in the channel. Hope you find this helpful! Jennifer
