Can't make ice on this freezer

Perhaps because of the one door design that have the freezing area included which when I open the freezer door, it lost the cooling inside. I try to make ice, 1 day past, 2 days past, 3 days past, a week past, my ice tray do not have ice, only very cold water. It must result from open and close the freezer too often. Well, I take cold drink from the freezer all the time, that is what its suppose to do isn't it? Cool my drink, kept my food cold to preserve. So I open and close the freezer quite often to get what I need. But doing so also make the freezing area not cold enough to make ice. I assume if I want to make ice, I must kept the freezer door close for at least 2 days. That would mean I have to buy another freezer to store food and drinks right? This is it's major design flaw. A big one. Now I am planning to buy a small ice maker to solve this ice making problem which mean I had to pay extra to buy ice maker. Sums it up, this product perform poorly in my case.
