They're bulky and need to be emptied like a dehumidifier. Possibly a good choice some place where you cannot have a window unit. I would have returned if I had saved box.

It says it's portable but if you have to drill holes into your window frame to place a necessary piece that allows the proper venting to the outside for the machine, you can't move it from room to room without your drill and about 20 minutes of time. We bought this to cool off 2 bedrooms - but those bedrooms had different window sizes. It may have wheels to make it moveable but it's not portable. There is no way you can move it from room to room without a big production. Had to return it as there is no way we could have cooled down 2 rooms per night by simply moving it.

Returned for a window style

We thought it would be good because we could secure our house when we were away & move it to other rooms if necessary.... Not as portable as you would think... we returned it and went back to being old fashioned with the window model!! Sometimes tradition is better... besides the reviews we previously read were not positive either and in unboxing it, I think they were accurate! I only trusted the Frigidaire name behind it!

The window sealer / exhaust is way too big to be practical. It comes with 2 pieces and the second piece is way too long and covers the exhaust which means I have a 3" gap. I am returning it. I don't know how it works because I couldn't get it installed due to the cheap parts needed to fit in my window, thus I became frustrated and I am returning it. Very poorly made. The parts included should easily snap together, but Frigidaire cut corners and went with cheap parts. :(

Posted .Goodness! I am dismayed to hear of your disappointment in your new air conditioner, Chelupe. Your unit is rated to cool up to 350 square feet, is the area you need it to cool larger that this? If the room temperature is very high, the air exiting the unit may not feel cold. Air exiting the unit is usually between 17°-20°F lower than the intake air, and may not feel cold to the touch until the room temperature is reduced. If the air conditioner was recently turned on in a hot room, please allow additional time for to remove “stored heat” from walls, ceiling, floor and furniture. If this doesn’t apply, please do not hesitate to connect with us directly for assistance. ~Ruth

Didn't work. Not that hard to install but didn't keep my bedroom cool. The only place it was cold , was if you stood directly in front of it. I kept it for week thinking it needed time to cool my hot upstairs bedroom, No, not even at night. I followed all the steps, and even called the company hotline for troubleshooting, Nope. Room gets very hot so an AC unit needs to get very cold. This unit just would not blow cold air out. It was slightly cool but not enough to bring the room temp down much. Fan was very loud but not that strong. Returned for another window unit. I think the tech in these style units just doesn't allow them to get very cold. The exhaust tube also gets kind of hot.

Posted .Oh no, Jayburdfl! I hate to hear that your new a/c is not keeping your garage nice and cool. This model is designed to cool an area of up to 350 insulated square feet. You would need to add 10% capacity for uninsulated rooms. For best performance, make sure it is on cool mode, instead of fan or eco mode, and you have it vented outside with the air louvers open. ~ Brandi

It will also suck air from under a door due to the exhaust having to be pulled from the room. Purchase a window unit if possible. The two are night and day. Google portable ac unit cons and educate yourself prior to purchasing.

Posted .We appreciate your feedback, Grant. It shouldn't be adding humidity to the room, as it is taking the warm air from the room and cooling it just as any air conditioner would. You do, however, need to vent this outdoors as you would a window unit. If you aren't, you are simply recirculating the warm air back into your room. ~ Brandi
