Customers are saying
Customers value the cooling capacity of the 350 Sq. Ft Portable Air Conditioner, with many stating that it does a great job of cooling. They also appreciate its portability, ease of installation, and reasonable price. However, some customers have concerns about the noise it produces when cooling, the inflexibility of the exhaust hose, and occasional issues with the remote control.

works well, some major flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this AC unit to cool down my baby's room during a Southern California heat wave, using Best Buy's store pick up. Store pick up service was seamless and fuss free. The AC works well in that the room was sufficiently cooled down to be comfortable for him to sleep. On low, the AC runs pretty loudly (although this is totally subjective) even on low, but its sort of like a white noise, so its tolerable. The installation into our casement window was not as bad as I expected although it was frustrating to deal with the unwieldy hose and window kit, no less. The major flaw in this unit is that the LED control on the unit itself is severely lacking. There is no way to set the timer and fan speed from the unit; you must rely on the remote control. In addition, in order to to adjust any settings using the remote, I found that I had to aim it directly at a specific spot and wait for the beep to know that the unit registered any presses from the remote. Little things like that frustrate me and those nuisances are enough for me to consider swapping this unit for similar one by a different manufacturer, which appears to have all the settings available on the unit itself. Lastly, the manual could be better. Other than that, I performs well for us and is aesthetically pleasing...as far as an air conditioner can be anyway.

What Can I Say, but!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I would like to say, I love the look and size of the Frigidaire, It looks good and fits well in my room. But, I would have to say your instructions book could be a little more precise, sequence of instructions were difficult to follow. Hose isn't the best or the easiest to connect. It is flimsy at the ends, which prevent an easy hook-up and it keep coming loose at the window panel when I put the setting on "COOL". Personally, I don't believe I should have to buy something to fix an item that I just bought, dealing with the hose has been frustrating! But, I must say, so far in seems to cool my room.

Nicer for Small spaces
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to help with the incoming heat of summer in Southern California (San Diego Area). My studio apartment is just over 300 square feet, so I thought I would try this model. While it did blow out cold air, it just wasn't fast enough to cool down my apartment. I'd have it on high, running for hours and it would only make a slight dent. I know part of it is because my apartments layout is in an L shape, but even in the area it was in, it still wasn't powerful enough to keep it cool during the peak heat times. This unit would be best suited for a 10x10 room. As for installation, it took me a few minutes to figure out, but once I had it figured out, it was easy to transport to different windows in the apartment, so I could cool down areas. I drained it about once a week, but even then it wasn't necessary how often I did it. I was only running it a couple of hours a day, five hours at most and I could have drained it every other week. This was on the cool setting only though; I did not use the dehumidifier mode. This timer feature is nice too, so when I go to work, I have it running a couple of hours after I leave so my animals stay cool. I didn't really see it affect my power bill either (though it did trip my breaker a couple of times). Noise level was average. I've had louder window units before. I find it to be great white noise. I didn't have to turn up the TV much louder. In the end, I ended up returning it because it wasn't doing what I needed it to do. The 'Up To 350' square feet is definitely a high estimation. I would go closer to 100 to 150 square feet. I opted for 14,000 Frigidaire unit (which is a huge increase from this 8,000 unit), which boast an up to 750 square feet. I'll see how that unit is with my studio apartment.

Great unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is such a great little AC unit! Well not really little bc it does take up a bit of space. It was easy to set up but I would recommend two people. It cooled my room within 5 mins and I was cold and turned it off so I can say it definitely works great for one room and I imagine it will be cooling down my hall and the rooms off the hall too. I'm very happy with it so far!

good, but flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to tide me over while central AC was out of service. Unit cooled bedroom nicely --- no problems with that. BUT : poorly-designed connections for the exhaust tubing at BOTH ends ; needs re-engineering of the method used to connect the tubing to the two adaptors.

Works but having problem with how to use timer etc
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought this 2 days ago. Still observing. Cools the room well after you install everything correctly. Make sure to check the exhaust hose if air is not coming out on the sides otherwise it wont work if it leaks air. Please let me know if my observation is normal or if there's something wrong with the unit i got. 1. On Cooling mode, AC doesnt fully turn off after it reach the programmed temperature. Instead it goes to fan then go back to cooling when temp goes higher than desired. 2. Using the remote, needs to be in a certain angle to make it work and you need to hear a "beep sound" to make sure it programmed whatever you did or else it wont actually work. 3. Timer, You need to put a timer on the "ON" and "OFF" separately. I dont really get this. 4. How exactly does the sleep mode work??? This AC unit works fine with cooling the room if you dont care about the timer and are not concerned about the electricity bill and a frustrating remote function. Or a clear instruction manual.

Nice portable a/c
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great unit not too loud (specially in low setting) got this for my rec studio room and works great, installation was easy, if your handy than its a breeze, only con is that the hose that goes attached to the back of unit can become loose if you move it around but if you leave it alone it stays in place, rather than that it's excellent specially for the price, can't go wrong.

Terrible Unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is extremely heavy (50lb), and very loud. It cools a small room pretty quickly, but is ineffective because of the poor workmanship and low quality parts. The one I purchased leaked out the water valve, effectively making the unit useless.

Great for a small room or even a studio apartment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wall AC in my apartment had gone out last week and I've been sitting in a room that's 100°F or hotter for the past couple days. Just picked this AC unit up from my local Best Buy this morning and my apartment in already about 15-20° cooler. Can't wait to sleep nice and chilly tonight :)

Hot, humid, and nearly impossible to clean.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the previous reviewer, I'm merely trying to cool one room. The room is 182 square feet. Above 80 degrees F or above 60% humidity, the unit is basically a fan. Also, while there is a filter covering the upper coil, there is a fixed grill covering the lower coil. In less than 90 days, the lower coil accumulated a thick blanket of dust, only visible using a flashlight. I contacted Tatania at Frigidaire who could not tell me how to clean the lower coil. Tatania recommended that I search 3rd party websites for a solution, or schedule an appointment with a repair tech. After much digging, I found a parts diagram on an Electrolux site. As is turns out, several parts must be removed and the unit's case must be split in half to access the lower coil. Totally unacceptable design and performance. Buyer beware of the 15 day return period. I plan to buy another brand at another retailer and put this thing in permanent storage.

Posted .Hello, I understand that you are unhappy with your a/c. When selecting an air conditioner, larger is
not always better. For your 182 square foot room, you should be using a 5,000 BTU. We welcome you to view page 11 "Care and Cleaning" in your Use and Care Manual regarding cleaning concerns. Please feel free to connect with us directly should you have any remaining questions or concerns. -Kindly, Jennifer

Leaking from the bottom
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Swapped my previous Frigidaire portable unit out for this one. My other one worked perfect except the venting moving flaps broke. Which I want another Frigidaire to replace it. This is nothing like the other one. It doesn't seem to cool as fast. Plus, it leaks all the time from the bottom (which I do have a hose hooked up too). Yes, I had it on 100% auto. Which my old one I had that way, but never had issues like this. I did put it on cool only. It still leaks. Also, you really can't control the unit unless you have the remote. You set it how you want it on the remote display then you must point it at the unit to set it. It seems a bit cheap and lacking. Mostly likely will return the unit for something else.
