the unit is a little bit noisy when turned on high, but it has very good cooling power for a 14'x18' room.

A good unit for the price. Will cool a 17X20 room fairly quickly as long as the heat load isn't too bad. Window vent installation (slider) kit can be cut down to fit in a window opening as small as (about) 8" by 8"; or used as-is to fit a window opening up to 8" by 48". The unit can also be vented through an outside wall using a 6" vent hood (type used to vent dryers/kitchen or bathroom fans). The louvers on the front of the unit are pretty much useless, The air will blow straight out no matter whether the louvers are pointed up, down, left or right. A somewhat annoying design feature is that the green indicator light on the unit will light for the 'COOL' mode when the unit is in either COOL or AUTO mode, so there is no way to tell if the unit is in COOL or AUTO mode. The remote display, however, will show COOL or AUTO; but that does not necessarily mean that unit is in the same mode. This is important to know, only because the fan speed is adjustable in COOL mode, but is not adjustable in AUTO mode. So if you think you are in COOL mode, but the remote will not adjust the fan speed: press the MODE button on the remote to cycle the unit through the modes: COOL>DRY>FAN>AUTO>COOL. This will insure that the unit is in COOL mode and fan speed can be adjusted.

As the review title states, I only had a cool about 150 square-foot room. This little guy does pretty darn good. Now please keep in mind I live in Colorado it's very dry so I do not have to do with humidity factor. However on these hundred degree days it does work. Also it was much quieter than my window air conditioner. It's not whisper silent, but again it's an air conditioner and it's not expected to be that quiet especially for the price.

I bought a small (800 sq ft) house this spring and when the weather turned hot this summer - I really missed the AC from my old house! This AC was in stock near by and was flexible enough to move between living room and bedroom as needed! It works great for cooling down a smaller house and easy to install and move when needed!

This item works very well, the weather in the high dessert is extremely hot this summer so when I went to look for a fan I saw this item on the floor in one of the bulk stacks, so I decided to buy it based on reviews and I must say I do not regret it, it's kinda loud but the sound is very worth it, bought for our bedroom.

Good product for a smaller space area. Some what noise but works for those very hot days in valley.

The ac definitely works good, does not make weird sound and it cool your space very quickly.

Cools really fast room about 300sq, it's kind of noisy but not that much as other A/C

It's a good product and a good price.. a few changes need to be made though .. only the top part which is the a/c is has a filter on the back but the bottom part is the dehumidifier doesn't and it get dirty and there's no way to clean it except to take a Q-tip and lightly go in between the slots and get the dust bunny's out.. the other thing that I didn't like is that you can only control the speed of the fan from the controller which doesn't work half the time.. you have to be directly in front of the A/C unit and point it directly at it from above from a few feet away.. they need to fix that and make it so you can sit anywhere from any angle for it to work.. fix those 3 things and then it's a perfect a/c unit and an affordable price .. it occasionally leaks from the condensation so don't be alarmed

This AC does a great job of keeping smaller rooms cool. I've had mine for about a month, and I can honestly say it was money very well spent. Make sure you know how big the room you intend to use it in is, since this is a small unit for a small room.

I love this small air conditioning unit, it gets the job done at my small apartment.

I am so satisfied with this ac. I bought 2 and am considering buying another for a back room. love the cooling power and the fact I can set it in the corner and forget it. well not really forget it because when its 90 outside, I'm chillin

I use it in a 12x15 room, it works perfectly but the noise stays in the room too.

This AC unit is compact and can be placed by a window and forgotten. It can fit nearly anywhere near a window. Setup was simple and is easy if you have a basic understanding of how portable AC units work. My only complaint about this unit is that it runs kinda loud. Had I known this I would have gotten another unit. It's not a deal breaker but there was another unit at a similar price.
