Caved and got this for my daughters room. She seems happy.

Electronic controls are great. Being able to set a temperature for the unit to cycle on and off saves money.

It was a much needed item for my daughter. I knew I would get a good deal at Best Buy.

I originally bought a portable air conditioner for my daughter's room to supplement our central A/C. Her room is upstairs and in extremely hot weather the central A/C does not cool her room enough. The portable unit was horrible so I ran out and bought this window unit. It is really terrific. I am a single Mom and it was easy for my daughter and I to install this on our own. Her windows are small but the unit is pretty compact and fit fine. It cooled the room quickly. The remote is handy because she has a loft bed so she can easily adjust the temperature with the remote. The unit I actually received is different than the picture. It has a digital temperature readout. I am very happy with this product!

It really cools off a room fast and have no problems with it so far.

It is a good air conditioner for the price. I like the timer feature. it doesn't cool very quickly but it works in a small room.

The cost and power of this air conditioner are wonderful. However, three times in the past week I've been awakened in the middle of the night because of its sound. It's not noisy, but when it goes on and off (in the energy saver mode) it makes a formidable "woosh!" sound, strong enough to awaken me three times. I'd return it if I could.

it is cheap. you get what you pay for. but its still ok for small room.

This ac is too loud. I brought it back after one night. There are other, more quiet models for the same price.

I needed to get a unit for my room and I am glad I went with this unit. The selling point for me was that this was a energy star unit. Yeah you can get a cheaper unit for about $100 but its is going to use more electricity. At $129 its a steal. This was the best deal I was able to find with most retailers it was priced around $160. I would recommend this unit for a small room. The remote is also nice to have. I also invested in the three year warranty through Frigidaire for $30. It will even cover a replacement unit. They also will renew your warranty throughout the life of the product use. I am very pleased with the unit and have had zero problems. Installation was a breeze. The unit it not loud and I can sleep just fine with it on full blast. I however would not recommend this unit for a large room. Anything under 160 square feet is the ideal setting.

There apparently aren't many A/C models available for very small rooms, and unfortunately, there's no way to know how it's going to sound until you get it in your window. I got this unit to cool a small bedroom (9X15ft) and it does that, fast and well. So far, so good. But it's a bedroom. The unit is VERY noisy, and instead of vents to direct the air flow, there are these weird spiral things (WHY???) that do not work well, so that no matter how I position them, the air still blows directly onto the bed, which is uncomfortable for sleeping. Even if you use the Energy Saver mode, which activates the machine only when it's cooling instead of running the fan constantly, you get periods of quiet constantly broken up by the machine roaring to a start and running for a few minutes until the room is cool, then shutting down. If you're a light sleeper, you end up laying there wondering when the next roar is going to jolt you out of your doze. All of which ends up making this not a very good choice for a bedroom unit, where you want something a little quieter and more adjustable as far as air flow goes. Also, the side panels are very flimsy and do not form a good seal; if you get a good strong Chicago rainstorm, you're going to have a flood in your room, no matter how much duct tape you use (which, by the way, looks lovely and really improves the condition of your woodwork). I don't know why smaller has to mean poorer quality, but apparently it does. I'd say the unit is great to cool a small room, but not if you want to sleep there. And don't put it in a window that faces wide open space (as opposed to a window between two buildings), where driving rain can penetrate it's flimsy barriers.

After returning two Haier model air conditioners of similar style I was about fed up with A/C's for the summer. I believe I paid 130 for this A/C and loved it. The remote is very handy and I love the energy efficient button because it allowed for me to keep it on at night without freezing or wasting electricity. I also love the timer! When I get home from work, my room is already cooled off. It is quiet for a window A/C. After running for awhile I do occasionally hear a water sound. It is completely normal and I am not bothered by the sound. I HIGHLY recommend this model!!

This A.C. is a winner. My old one broke so I bought this online and went to pick it up at my local store. (smooth transaction) This a.c. is quiet for a window unit and it blows ice cold air. I wish everyone still made good products like this. The only thing I don't like is that the filter slides out the side. You can't get to the coils if you ever need to clean them. Other than that I recommend this ac unit.

Overall we are satisfied with the a/c unit. It's a little noisier than we expected - especially since it's located in our bedroom. But it's not so loud that it keeps us awake. The energy saver feature is a little irritating - it turns the unit on and off several times an hour. That makes it a little more irritating when you're trying to sleep. So we just leave it on "cool" and "Auto-fan" and that makes it a good "white noise" unit that cancels out the traffic noise. Cools our little bedroom (about 150 sq. ft) well. Really like the remote. This was mounted in a sliding sash window with some inventive wood working. Don't go by the width dimension - that includes the accessory window filler if it's mounted on the unit. It's actually around 16" in width - unit only. We didn't need to use the window filler.
