For its size this AC is a workhorse ... perfect for a decent-sized bedroom, single room (plus), or office. Very good installation instructions, sensible directions and parts, extensions actually fit an odd-sized window in my historic, well weathered home. Strong cooling capacity and efficient econ mode. Design is straightforward, which I like, and operations don't require an advanced engineering degree as some units seem to require! Highly recommend this AC ... for the sale price we paid, it's a superb value!

We live in Miami in an apartment that only has one large wall unit in the living room. During the summer it takes a lot for that unit to blow cool air into the master bedroom - We have side sliding windows and didn't think we could get a window unit. Instead we got a portable unit for about $350 - horrible! That portable unit was noisy and didn't really cool the area off very well. We called the management and they were able to actually install this type of unit - wish I knew that beforehand! Returned the portable and got this unit and couldn't be happier. Our room is pretty long - 20x13 - and the unit is pretty quiet but obviously not silent. We like white noise and my little oscilating fan makes more noise than this. I get hot flashes at night and this keeps me nice and comfortable. Funny, we can't put it at 71 degrees or it's too cold... so 72 each night is perfect for us. I can't praise this unit enough - it saved us from hot miserable nights.

It is a little over capacity for my 8X8 hobby room. Cools it down to any temp I want and does it fast. No windows so had to mount it through a wall. Not a big problem just needed to be sure and get it sloped right for drainage. Didn't think the remote was needed but it is very handy as the way I have it installed is a little high up and not real easy to reach. I can sit at a chair and set the AC any way I want. Only thing that could be better is one more speed. It has two speeds and I always use the lowest. Would be better if there was one more slower speed.

I have central air but the upstairs doesn't cool off so I purchased this smaller A/C to put in a small bedroom near the hall bathroom. Within an hour the bathroom had significantly cooled off as well as the hallway. I was quite impressed. I don't notice any noice as it's not in the main bedroom and since it had cooled off, I didn't run in it overnight. It was very easy to install and the side vents and the foam help to keep any bugs from coming in. I wish I had bought this years ago, as it made a significant difference with this high 80's heat we've been having. I have already recommended this unit to friends!

My bedroom is 100 square feet and this unit cools it in the amount of time to be expected and stays cool.Having push-button controls & a remote are a huge plus ! It sounds a bit on the noisy side,but not enough to disrupt my overall comfort.This is my third Frigidaire product (the other two being refrigerators),and I've not had any bad experiences in the past.I might purchase an identical unit for another room.I would recommend this produt.

I bought this air conditioner back in 2007 and after 2007,2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and now 2012 it is still going strong and blowing super cold air! I do not find the unit to be noisy and rarely have a mildew smell. Most of the time the mildew smell is from not running the unit for a day or so but it quickly goes away. There are drain holes on the bottom which fill up a 2 gallon bucket of water every day which I then use to water the flowers with. Even in this 100+ degree heat the unit is a champ and pulls through! The front filter easily slides out to be rinsed under the sink. Highly recommended and worth the money.

Unless I'm missing something in the directions I can't bring in outside air on cooler days. I wouldn't want it in my bedroom unless I had no choice. I could adapt to the fan if I had to I guess. It's a nice touch to have a remote and unit timer. A Frigidare model one step lower (Model: FRA052XT7) is ten bucks cheaper with just 2 knobs. I do like this unit because I bought it for an upstairs room that has no return vents and the room is occupied by my 2 parrots who can be quite noisy anyway. I'm going back to best buy to get the extended warranty for 4 years at 40.00. I also liked the customer service I received from Best Buy employees.

This A/C is fantastic for 160 sq ft room. Using a tower fan is advisable during first hour of cooling as it spreads the cool air quickly and uniformly. But even if its not there this unit is good. Window fittings are included and is easy. Timer and energy star rating is best thing we can get at this price. I thought of buying Haier same category as it is 15$ cheaper but this is worth the extra money. Noise level is ok and very much bearable.

This is not a big machine designed to cool a whole house or even several rooms but if you are looking for a great value on something for an average sized bedroom it might just be perfect. Got this to cool the bedroom at night so we don't have to chill the whole house. Since our bedroom is good sized we do need to start it about an hour before going to bed if we are going to rely just on it. The timer function helps with that. The unit we have is very quiet even when cycling on and off. I wonder if those that talk of noise issues have it installed in a way that makes it louder. In any case great value for our needs

we purchased two of these air conditioners and are quite happy with them. We use one in the bedroom and one in the office. The rooms are medium size and these units have kept them cool even in 90+ high humidity weather. The remote control is quite handy as well.

I purchased two of these for my second floor one bedroom apartment. I put one in the bedroom and one in the living room. I like that you can use the remote. The one in the bedroom works great. But because the one in the living room has to cool a much bigger space it takes a bit longer, but still a great product. I was hesitating at first because although this unti had great reviews a lot of people were complaining about the noise. The noise is not that bad at all, I actually enjoy it because it drains out the outdoor noise at night. . I waited for a good sale and best buy was prompt with their delivery and it qualified for free shipping! I would definitely reccommend this product

Due to the dog days of summer in Boston, I purchased this ac for my home office and bedroom to cool off my apartment. As a single person, it was very easy to install in the window and put together. My only hiccup was the vents on the side. They tend not to stay in place so had to put a little tape on it. From opening the box to installing it, it took twenty minutes. After turning it on for 15 minutes, it cooled off my entire office and bedroom. I am used to central air in my former apartments and with this compact ac unit, it feels like central air. I would highly recommend it for its value and size.

I bought this AC for my bedroom. What an amazing unit. It works really well. Its great that it has an energy saver mode for when I'm not in that room and want the room to stay cool without constanly running and wasting electricity. I love the little remote that comes with it. It's very convenient not having to get up to adjust the temperature. Also, the digital display is nice instead of the analog style. It was easy to put in and install in my window which was a plus. This is probably one of the best AC's I purchased to date.

My room is about 100 sq ft. and this AC really gets the place cool in a short amount of time. The installation process is easy. However, you will need a drill to secure the unit to the window. It comes with all the accessories including the side panels. The included remote with battery works great along with the timer feature.

alright so setup is super easy, however installation on my person window oh man was about to just give up and return it. so now the Good stuff, love that it has a remote control to control pretty much everything from Temp, speed, fan/ac. Filter is on the side which I don't mind really. Love the fact that you can set your perfect temperature.

Bought this unit for a small bedroom that only had one vent from the central cooling air conditioner, evening sun heated it up and our son's electronics also contributed to the rooms heat. This is an awesome unit with features found on more expensive and larger cooling units. This has a remote control, and the unit has a temperature control which will keep the room at whatever set point you program. For any of you that may have a very small window that you want to use, this unit was easy to modify. This unit is designed to fit a window opening of a minimum of 23", however I needed it to fit 21". I took the slider curtains from each side of the unit and cut the metal frames off 1 1/2" on each side with a hack saw. Now the unit fits perfectly with the slider curtains attached. Our son says if feels like Alaska in his room. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a small room air conditioner.

We got this small units for our bedroom 11x16 and works wonderfully, keeps room very cool and the timer is a great plus to the unit. Noise is very low and the 2 fan speed settings allows for a quiet nite of sleep. Once again for the price, I think is a nice unit.

I needed a new unit ASAP because my old one gave out and we had a 'major HEAT WAVE' coming. I love the fact that the unit wasn't very heavy and easy to set up. It cooled my room effectively and I love the timer feature.

The side louvers only goes to 36 inch window max but Frigidare could have engineered some inexpensive bracket inserts. Then it would fit the more common 37-38 inch window sizes. But this seems an issue with all the small units. They assume a small unit goes in a small window. But small rooms can have big windows too! The unit is very plain looking, which is good. (versus bizarre and sticking out) The install kit is the best one I have seen (versus Kenmore and Sharp - the two other brands I have installed recently). But that is not saying much as the kits are pretty imperfect overall. While it is a small unit, it should be a slide in style to make complex installs easier (and ALL installs are complex - especially vinyl windows!)

Unit is light and easy to install. Blows very cold air for a small unit. Has very nice features you would not normally find on a small unit.
