We live in a very humid Tallahassee, FL and this appliance is exactly what we needed - we will never be without one in the future - I should have bought one many years ago. We can run the AC on a higher setting with the humidity under better control. On balance it doesn't seem to have affected the electric very much - less than I expected. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Not whole house but works for a medium size room.

Makes damp basement smell fresher
