This unit is keeping the 1500 sq foot basement comfortably dry on "low" fan setting, runs quietly and requires no attention other than to clean its filter. Setup was unpack, plug in, and turn it on. You will need a hose for draining if you don't use the built-in bucket. I used the hose off of the 2-year old unit being replaced (offshore brand). I wish the new dehumidifiers processed air horizontally like the old-time units did (just my preference).

I like this dehumidifier a lot. It had been recommended to me by 2 different friends. I didn’t have a drain hose connected to it at first so I was emptying the collection bucket every 3-4 hours as another owner had suggested that the “bucket” is easier to empty if not full. I would agree with this. Now I have a drain hose connected so I can forget about it. My basement is 100% better.

This dehumidifier is pretty noisy, but quickly removes moisture from the air. If you set it at a specific humidity level, like 45%, it will cycle on and off quickly. A better programming design might be to give the machine a couple more percentage points between turning on and turning off. The bucket is a little awkward to reinstall, but not terrible. It also seems smallish. It was easy to set up and came out of the packaging in very good condition. All-in-all, I'm pleased with it's performance.

I have this unit in my basement with a hose emptying it directly down a drain. It's been running continuously for a couple of years, and I've never had a problem with it. I can't really speak for the noise level as it's in the basement and it does't bother me, but when I'm down there I don't really notice it being loud.

Works great and does what it is suppose to and not loud when I am upstairs.
