However, I purchased this specific model because it had a place on the back to attach a hose for continuous draining. This feature does not work! I have been in contact with my local Best Buy who directed my to the company. After contacting the company (cannot speak to a representative; must send an e-mail), I was sent a duplicate of the part on the back which you unscrew to hook up the hose. I have informed them that I need some way to direct the water out of the bucket and into the hose. They insist there is nothing else needed. Due to the time limit, I cannot return the item. My only choice is to physically empty the bucket twice a day. While I am capable of completing the task, it will become a major problem when I travel. It would be nice if things worked the way they were intended.

Posted .Hello, Teacher! Thank you for your feedback! For continuous drainage operation, you will need a garden hose and a drain nearby to discharge the water into. Unscrew the drain cap on the back side of the unit. Insert the female threaded end of the hose onto the drain connector of the unit. Screw the garden hose onto the threaded portion of the drain connector. Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks. Direct the hose toward the drain, making sure that there are no kinks that will stop the water flowing. Place the end of the hose into the drain. Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit for continuous draining to start. After about 3 uses the mildew smell started to go away. Unfortunately we live by the beach so there is a lot of humidity in my home and items in our closet began to grown mold. This will definitely help reduce that! The only reason i don’t give this 5 stars is the water reservoir drawer is a little clunky to take on and off.

We stripped the basement down to the concrete and wanted to get rid of the musty smell. We could not believe the amount of water that was in the air. We emptied it nonstop for about 3 weeks before it finally reached a humidity level of 45%. Now it cycles on and off as needed and the basement has no smell at all.
