It struggled in the Minnesota summer. The unit generated so much heat that it made our once cool (albeit humid) basement unbearable to relax in. Maybe a bigger unit would have been better, but this was the max size that was in store.

I feel terrible to learn about the hurdles you’ve encountered with your dehumidifier. It does appear you have the right size unit for your room.
Please keep in mind there should be a minimum of 12 inches clearance around the dehumidifier. Also, make sure you place your dehumidifier in a location that does not restrict airflow through the front of the unit or out of the louvers on the left side of the cabinet.

But the water continues to fill up in the basket and I have to continuously go down in the basement daily to empty the water out into my kitchen sink. So disappointing and irritating.
