    This things are not made to last. This is a replacement for the same model bought in 2015 which stopped working end of last year.

    Stay away from Frigidaire dehumidifiers

    Lots of complaints about Frigidaire humidifiers...add mine to the list. This unit lasted 10 calendar months before getting the dreaded "EC" display. Realistically, it was probably used for 2 months in 2020, and not at all in 2021. That's junk! It has a three year warranty, but Best Buy said it would have to be sent in to the manufacturer, no simple warrant claim like others are saying in their reviews. Luckily, I had a four year Best Buy extended Warranty, and with good Customer Service by the South Elgin team, I was given a store credit on the spot. (I did lose the value of the extended warranty though) I bought a much more expensive Honeywell unit this time, hopefully I have better luck. I've owned dehumidifiers for 30 years now. The first couple lasted about 10 years each, now I'm on my 4th unit in the last 10 years. Quality in Chinese manufacturing is non-existent.

    EC Error Code

    When the humidifier was operational it seemed to do an adequate job. However like many others, our unit fell victim to the "EC" error code that results in total loss of operation after two years of use. Even more concerning is that units with an EC error code may become a fire hazard for your house. I have contacted Frigidaire as this unit is still within its 5 year warranty however because this was an online purchase from 2015, the Best Buy online record does not include the model number and therefore a replacement or refund from Frigidaire was not offered. Stay away from Frigidaire dehumidifiers as they do not stand behind their products with a known defect (these models had a recall settlement).

    Hard to remove the drawer, and harder to get it back in again. Also, it starts to spew hot air and heat up the basement after it's been running for a while. I spent almost $300 on this model, I've only had it for a month, and it's just not that good.

      I'm very saddened to hear that you feel this way, SWOO. Please note when the unit is started, the fan begins to pull moisture-laden air across the dehumidifying coils. The coils condense or draw moisture from the air, and air flows through the top louvers into the room as dry, warm air. Moisture removed from the air is collected in a bucket on the front of the dehumidifier. The unit will not work

    Bad design for water bucket

    The design of the water bucket is bad. It is difficult to get out and extremely difficult to get back in. It is difficult to aline and requires a hard 'smack' to get it in place. There isn't a real spout to pour the water out of it. The humidifier is rated at 70 pints but the bucket probably only holds 1/2 of that requiring twice a day emptying in humid weather.

Some tips that can alleviate your concerns is to ensure the dehumidifier is set to a proper setting (low enough RH% so the unit turns on) and a garden hose is connected properly and tight enough. Your garden hose should be 11/16" (17.5 mm) or larger in diameter, must not be “kinked” and must allow water to flow “downhill” and free of debris, tears or holes.     I had this dehumidifier for about a year and it stopped working. It shuts off and the display has "EC" on it. If you unplug it for awhile and plug it back in, it will run for about 6 hours and shut off again. The bucket has almost no water in it. I am disappointed in this product as I thought Frigidaire was a good brand name. I am giving it a rating of one star since zero is not an option.

      Oh, no! We understand your concern, MarbletownGuy. We will be happy to assist you. An EC code may relate to a temperature or voltage issue. We would recommend ensuring the temperature in the room is between 41 and 96 degrees Fahrenheit and the power going to the dehumidifier is at 115 volts. If it is plugged into an extension cord, try plugging it in directly to get a better current.

    Reading reviews this sounds like a great humidifier to purchase. I have returned this humidifier before because it stopped working. I had purchased the extended warranty so once again the same humidifier was purchased. Directions were carefully followed on proper setup. After many days of running the factory continuous cycle it was reset to high. It ran at this speed for a couple days and stopped. I have tried over the past several weeks to see if it will reset to high but to no avail. It will only run on low speed. I am frustrated with the performance and will be contacting the manufacture this week.

    this should get 0 stars. i bought this and didnt use it until almost a year after i purchased it because at the time i ended up not needing it. i was going to return it then but figured i would eventually need it and when i finally took it out of the box to use it it was dead in two days. fan still runs i have a humidity reading of 65 but it pulls no water. and even the first day of use it pulled only a cup of of water. and nothing since. what a waste. dont buy it. its too expensive to only have the function of a 20 dollar box fan.
