    IMO Best Cost for a Counter Depth Fridge

    Great size for two or three people that don't really entertain much. I didn't want a large regular sized fridge. The counter depth was perfect, just costed more to get so it took me out of my original budget by not too much. It was worth it, as the profile of the fridge doesn't stick out by 6". Has most of my basic must haves: Energy Efficiency, deli tray, and an indoor water dispenser with ice (bonus IMO). Note, the water doesn't come out cold, but I wasn't too concerned with that. Ice maker is in the fridge so the door with the dispenser is lighter when opening. It didn't have one of my must haves, which was an adjustable half shelf, you know the ones that slide back to make more room for taller items. Instead, I had to take out a whole shelf. Makes some noise - a low hum with the occasional sound of ice being released into the internal bin.

    The vegetable draw broke after 1 year and needed an entire new shelf to fix for $100. The service rep at Frigidaire said they see it all the time and know exactly what part is needed because it happens so often. Light bulb in the water dispensers went out after 2 years along with the other fruit drawer. Constant upkeep…

    I’ve had the refrigerator for one year and the handles keep coming loose, the center door seal continues to come loose and lowering allowing the cold air out and essentially locking the right side door, the drawer for the freezer only shuts all the way once you open and close it several times, and the caster on the vegetable drawer has already broken off.

    Broke after one month

    4 weeks after being delivered this refrigerator broke. I believe it is the compressor, though I do not know for sure as it’s been 5 days and still no one has been out to look at it. Best Buy/geek squad apparently have no refrigerator techs in the area so they can’t help me, and Frigidaire does not have anyone available until a week and a half since it broke. I will not be purchasing from Best Buy or Frigidaire again.

    I've had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. I've had the geek squad try and repair it over 10 times and they cant fix the condensation build up and it likes water onto the floor. I would not recommend this product.

    Disappointing, but I was stuck with this model

    I've had this fridge about 5 months. We were replacing a full-depth french door fridge and apparently, the size of refrigerators is just 1/2" or so larger than they were 10 years ago because this was just about the ONLY model that was going to fit into our spot but also fit through our 100-year old house's back doors. Soooo, we didn't have much choice. I kind of curse this fridge every day. I admit, up front, these are champagne problems. I have a box in my kitchen that preserves my food, using electricity, so I'm thankful for that. But compared to my old fridge, this one is a big loser. Pros -It looks pretty -It felt a little roomier than the other counter depth fridges we looked at...in how it was laid out. -Nice, bright lighting -I don't find it to be too noisy, as some others have complained. -So far, ice maker has worked -I think the pizza spot in the freezer is nifty. -The price was pretty good when it was on sale (which is maybe permanent sale, I don't know). Cons -The water in the door is room temp, not cold. Big bummer. -The ice does fly out all over the floor if you're not very careful...but maybe that's normal. We've never had a fridge with ice in the door and I wish I didn't have to have it this time around. I liked having it in the freezer drawer better. -The interior of the dispenser door is pretty tiny and useless. It would be ok for a few things, but the rail is so short on it, that unless you wedge lots of things together in there tight, when you open the door, a bottle will fall over onto your feet...or, as we discovered, onto the freezer drawer below, denting it within the first 6 weeks of ownership. Not sure why the railing isn't higher on the door shelves. -One of the most annoying things about this fridge is that, from the get-go, with it set at the proper 38 degree temp, it was FREEZING everything - especially if it's near the core in the center back. Like a gallon of milk nearly frozen solid, salad greens and frozen carrots in the crisper drawer. Super annoying. So we tried turning up the temp to 39 and it improved some, but you have to know not to put anything that you don't want freezing too close to the center rear. In an already small fridge, this is frustrating to lose precious storage space. -Another bothersome feature of this fridge is that the digital readouts are simply the SET temp, not the ACTUAL temp...so you have no way of knowing where it's at. In my old fridge, you could see when you opened the door...so you'd see, instantly, if there was a problem. We have put our own thermometers in this one...which brings me to my next issue and current biggest concern... -Overnight, it seems like the freezer is going up to well above zero (like up to 12 degrees) for some time and then coming back down. I don't know if this is some sort of defrost cycle, but I don't feel comfortable with the safety of my food going up and down like that. And, maybe from that action, things in the freezer always seem to have a ton of frost on them. I keep frozen banana chunks in there for smoothies and they sometimes look like they're sitting in the Arctic tundra. This is something that I'm close to contacting the company about. We're working on tweaking the set temp and seeing if it helps at all. -Speaking of freezer, the top drawer basket is too low so if you pile up a few things in it, they are very likely to get pushed over the back and then they slide down under the bottom freezer drawer. Just a little annoyance. -Another sort of minor thing is that what I think were supposed to be "self-closing doors" are the complete opposite. They're quite heavy/clunky so they actually seem to want to stay open...do not close with a little push like my old fridge. Like I said, we had pretty much NO choice in what fridge would fit in our kitchen this time around or I would have probably tried to return this fridge, right off the bat, due to the freezing food issue. If you're not like us and you have a choice, I wouldn't recommend picking this one.

      Are your doors closing properly? Is the door gaskets sealed tight? Do you see any tears or rips on the gaskets? Is your appliance on a leveled surface?

      Your refrigerator needs to be level to function properly. If your fridge is not leveled this may cause your doors to be misaligned and not close or seal properly, which could lead your unit to have cooling, frost, or moisture problems.

      The water from your water/ice dispenser that comes out will not always be cold. Your model does not have a water tank like older models because it is an energy efficiency appliance. The water is coming directly from your water line, through the filter and then the dispenser; will not be cold.

    Expensive Junk

    We've now owned for 3 years. It's a piece of garbage. I'll start with the most egregious issues first. 1. Drawer slides break constantly after only a few months of use and are unusable when broken. I have purchased 3 broken drawer replacement and 4 broken slide replacement in 3 years. New parts range from $85 to $120 depending on what piece breaks. I've wasted a small fortune on this. 2. Water leaks from the door dispenser intermittently so you never know when it's going to to make a mess and possibly ruin your floors. Have had to have this repaired once already, and it's failing again a year later. Right now we just leave towels piled up around it because you never know when it will start leaking. It hasn't cost us our floor yet, but who knows, maybe it will get us soon. 3. Loud! So very loud. Runs all the time at full volume. Sometimes the upper ice maker sounds like a poorly put together 747 and vibrates the cabinets next to it. 4. Replacement water filters are expensive. That's pretty standard. The main problem is that the market is flooded with counterfeit filters. They cost just as much, look identical in both their manufacture and packaging, and flood your refrigerator with water when they don't fit right. It's a mess and gamble to try and find a working one. Last time I spent $180 on them. Bought a pack of 3 for $100 that were all counterfeit even though everything said Frigidaire, then had to go to a local parts supplier who sold me one for $80. $80 for a replacement water filter.

    Nice fridge over all. However, if you like to entertain people at your home.... count of getting a bag of ice as a backup for drinks. This fridge can't ever keep up with making and producing enough ice when we have dinner parties or family over for the holidays.

    You need 38", not 36" for this. Doors are flush hinges. Our old 36" wide side by side fit and opened perfectly. These new style fridges have different hinges and need MORE clearance. Sadly, had to refuse delivery.
