Bad reviews true but......
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: looks good, cheap. Cons: 1) bad drawers and yes they really do squeak very badly - solution is to apply food grade silicon to slides - now they are perfect. 2) does have high pitched compressor which seems to be common on new models - I am going to mount sound absorbing material at the back of the compartment holding the fridge to see if this helps.

Great looks, horrible whine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My fridge gives up a high pitched whine. At first, it went off and on, now it is almost constant. It sounds like an alarm going off in another room. The manual says it's the high speed, high tech compressor. I thought it was a fluke, exchanged the fridge for another, same whine, with a bit of a rattle this time. I'm sensitive to sound so it fills the kitchen and living room. The water dispenser is set up to accommodate a large jug so be prepared to spill or tilt it awkwardly if using the average glass. The ice maker is small, so it gives you more freezer space, but hopefully you don't need a lot of ice... The drawers all stick, and the glass is cut smaller than the top of the bins. The can storage on the fridge door is just, weird. It looked better than my old full size fridge in my tiny kitchen, and Best Buy did a good job handling my exchange (hopefully the final return goes smoothly). I just wish they had models of this in every store so people would know to stay away from it.

Nice Refrigerator
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We read all the reviews on this refrigerator before we purchased it. There were a couple of things we were concerned about after reading the reviews. One was the plastic draws that seamed cheap and had made a scraping noise when being used, that we noticed in the store. We rubbed some cooking Pam spray on a paper towel on the parts that rubbed together to help make the draws slide easier and it worked. Also we were surprised that the water in the thru the door wasn't chilled the unit has no provision for that. The interior lights takes a second to come when you open the refrigerator. It came with no container that holds eggs. The unit looks nice and isn't loud but you can hear it running. Everything else works fine. The outside Smudge proof is really great that's the main reason we purchased it. I would say for the money its a good deal. This replaced a more expensive brand name with all the bells and whistles that was nothing but problems.

Ice Dispenser is a Headache
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model looked like it was a good buy given it's compact size and features. However, the ice dispenser makes me wish i had bought a different model. I bought the unit about 6 months ago, so I've had time to form an opinion. The ice maker is fine, but ice gets stuck in the door as it's being dispensed which leads to large amounts (more than can fit in a cup) being dispensed all at one time. My work around is to just open the freezer door and manually dispense my own ice, but could have paid less for a model without an ice dispenser. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with this model.

Good fridge but ice dispenser is quirky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fridge was a good buy. Has been reliable for over a year. Only thing I don't like is the ice cube dispenser. Sometimes ice continues to discharge after the lever is released, and occasionally it hangs without dispensing.

has discoloration on 2/3 of front
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my post for this FGHC2331PF got posted to my bosch diswasher but this complaint still pertains. best buy has THE best prices in town overall- the best. however customer service needs improving. i saved money having my unit installed by a plumber and now because (after i removed the protective plastic film) the front is 2/3 discolored darker than the rest, Best Buy is making me pay for ANOTHER installation if i replace the unit AND the de-installation of the discolored unit. if i had used BB to install the unit originally, they say they might have been able to defray some of the install/deinstall costs. so the thing is stained from the warehouse and i have to pay installation costs TWICE!!! and de-installation once (hopefully). not happy. no logic in play here.

Cheaply made fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The exterior looks amazing, however, when you open it up, the fridge is cheaply made. Shelves screech when you open them, the shelving is a bit crooked, and they include these extremely skinny shelves on the fridge door. I have no idea what would fit in there. Also, they have these soda can holders on the door that cannot be removed. We never drink soda cans, so these go wasted. In addition, the ice maker spits out ice at warp speed. Everyone who came over our house was shocked when they tried to get ice. We returned this product because of its cheap and annoying features.

Noisy but Spacious; Ice forming in fridge drawers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With all new High Efficiancy refrigerators this one is noisy. In the month since we've owned it I've grown used to the hum, buzz, and clicks - put the high-pitched squeal is rather annoying. That said, it's a nice looking fridge and it is very roomy and well designed inside. The fruit & veggie doors seem of poor quality and do not glide in and out with ease. You also need to have the fridge door completely open to be able to open the drawers without rubbing again the door. The most concerning issue I've noticed is that within two weeks of owning this product, ice began to form inside the crisper drawer which I find very problematic. I've lowered the "chill" setting to see if that helps, but has anyone else experienced this issue? What does it mean for the long term dependability of this model?

This fridge icemaker is like a slot machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to train to play the slots at Vegas and win, this is the fridge for you. We needed a fridge fast and we needed something not too expensive. We also wanted a counter depth fridge. We went to the store and this fridge seemed fine. The reviews were not bad, so we bought it. Pretty big mistake! The refrigerator looks fine and works. The ice maker on the other hand is another story. It builds up ice and spouts it out when you get your ice in your glass. You can't stop it; it just keeps on going until it gets stuck, and then you unstuck it and it starts throwing out the ice again. This happens at least 2-3 times a week and it is annoying. This is why my husband and I jokingly call this fridge our slot machine. If only it could give us cash instead of ice cubes.

Disappointed with durability, scratches on day one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First day and there are visible scratches on the doors. If you want to put anything in your frig don't buy. This was a large purchase for family and less than a day looking new is horrible.

Nice looking refrigerator for the money BUT beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks nice, and a great buy for the money, but man is workmanship poor! I purchased all Frigidaire Gallery appliances for my new home, and they were all fine except the refrigerator. The first unit I had, the shelves in the freezer kept falling, and I had to have A&E factory service out 5 times. After the 5th time, I had to get the BBB involved. I filed a complaint, and Frigidaire agreed to replace the unit. This replacement is better constructred, but it is noisy as heck. The ice dropping is very loud, and it sounds like there is a cricket in the refrigerator. If I had to do over, I would of went with Samsung or LG. Frigidaire seems to make junk.

So far, so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fridge was just installed and so far so good. There were no installation issues, the fridge very quickly cooled down to 0 for the freezer and 37 for the refer. It isn't noisy at all, as others have claimed. It's actually really quiet. I haven't had it long enough to experience any ice dispenser issues. I haven't used the bins a lot yet and they are indeed plastic on plastic. Yet that hasn't been a problem, although they do squeak a bit. For me, up to this point (just a week after installation) the fridge works perfectly. I'm giving it four stars instead of 5 because I haven't had it long enough to see if any other issues arise. I'm happy at this point. It's really nice and the price was right.

Poor quality all around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really regret this purchase and wish I could return this fridge for something from a different brand. There are spots along the wall inside the fridge where thing freezes: The top shelf and the fresh drawer. I have found ice cubes in my mayonnaise and frozen carrots. Frigidaire sent out someone to fix it; they changed a part, but this is still happening on and off. Additionally, there is no alarm or indicator on the freezer door, so if you have not been careful to shut it well and good (although it looks shut), the whole freezer ices down. Even then, the temperature display on the door doesn't change, so that is no indicator either. All the plastic parts are flimsy and rickety and feel really cheap. It makes some really odd noises. The ice gushes out of the dispenser at breakneck speed. The water spout is in a bad spot, so it is hard to avoid spills. The list of grievances goes on and on. This fridge looks really nice, but that is just about the only good thing I can say about it. Avoid.

Perfect refrigerator for counter depth space.

Constant noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recieved this fridge today and was a little worried after reading reviews of how its always running. So far the noise is a nuisance and does not stop. Since alot of kitchens are tied to the living room (like mine) it hums monotonously in the background while I watch tv. Frigidaire claims this constant running is so the fridge can run efficiently. My take is Frigidaire doesnt design appliances with the customer in mind. How do other companies design theirs not to do this? Seems like a poor excuse for a design flaw. Also, this fridge has no brakes on the wheels so if you have sleek floors its gonna move alot. Again, they seemed to have taken a shortcut and left the customer out of the equation. I gave it 2 stars because the exterior appearance and quality otherwise seems worthy of recognition.

Posted .Hey mbishop1978, thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us regarding your new refrigerator. Our new refrigerators are designed to be more efficient in that they use newer components and run at a consistent speed/temperature for a longer period of time using less energy. Typically, our new compressors operate at a higher pressure when first starting and the noise should disappear as the refrigerator continues to run and balance pressures. Modern, high-efficiency compressors operate much faster than older models. Hope this helps! Best Wishes, Jennifer

Constant high-pitched noise will drive you insane
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just moved into an apartment featuring this new fridge, and it makes a constant high-pitch whining noise that I personally find absolutely unbearable. I've never been in the presence of a refrigerator that is this loud. Dentist drill, crickets, nails on chalkboard, the other reviews are right; the only difference is *what* grating and shrill noise you'd like to compare it to. You will get no peace with this fridge. And it's not just once in a while. It's constant: it never ends. It never stops. You'll be looking for any reason to leave the house to find respite. If you value quiet, value tranquility, value your sanity, stay way way way way away from this monstrosity. I have to close the door in rooms I'm in to try to silence it. When I have to spend extended periods of time in the kitchen/living room, I wear noise-cancelling headphones. I can't fathom how an appliance like this could pass quality control. Whatever team designed this must have a severe case of communal tinnitus, because how anyone, let alone a company as large as Frigidaire, could willingly attach their name to so laughable a cacophony as this, is a mystery that will perplex me until my final hour.

Repaired 5 times in less than 3 years/warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this fridge at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and paid $250- for there extended warranty. The ice maker has broken 2 times. The compressor has broken 2 times with the code 5y EF. And one other thing broke that I can not remember. Every single time it has taken a minimum of two weeks for them to come repair my refrigerator. Two of those times my fridge is not working at all. Luckily I have a spare smaller fridge in the garage that I can store a few groceries in but going to the store every 2 days is not convenient. Now they are going to lemon my fridge out but they state I do not get a choice of the fridge they give me just a comparable model and they will try to match the color, All my kitchen appliances are stainless. I find this unacceptable.

Sounds like a bad percussion band
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned, it's ridiculously loud making a plethora of very loud noises constantly that can be heard two rooms away. The drawers are plastic on plastic and sound like fingernails on a chalkboard when opened and closed. I can't believe Fridgidaire stays in business making products like this. As soon as I can afford to I'll replace this Piece of junk with another brand. I'll never own another Fridgidaire product.

LEmON
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this with an additional 5 year warranty. Have had the ice maker replaced and a repair man came 5 times to fix the water as it would not come out of the door. The last time he said it was my filter. Purchased a new filter. Still didn't work. They also had to repair whatever monitors the temperature as it was not working. The company I purchased it from finally did a buy out.
