Totally worth the effort of replacing gas cooktop

I would give it 5 stars except the controls are not so easy to manuever to the setting you want. Might just be me, I seem to have issues with touch screens. I have cooked all kinds of things from fried tacos which came out perfect to simmering a pot of chili, sauteeing vegetables, searing meat - all good. We had to hire someone to make the cooktop cutout bigger and have an electrician install an electrical connection. Totally worth it to no longer worry about gas fumes or accidently leaving it on.

Poor user controls - useless cook timer

Minimalism over functionality, The controls are tiny. But one of the reasons I bought this was so I could set a timer on the cooktop and walk away, I didn't have to worry about getting distracted; it would turn off the burner and I would have my hot water. Instead, it goes tweet-tweet- tweet and performs no other function. I have half a dozen timers in my kitchen and a timer on my phone so who needs a little one that makes a quiet ringing sound? My oven has the courtesy to turn it off when it's finished baking. Had I realized that this timer is useless, I would have returned it.

Another hassle is having to replace a lot of our cookware - especially the non-stick (aluminum) pans to induction compatible (magnetic) cookware. However, the heating speed and accurate temperature control makes it a very worthwhile upgrade.

Beeps too much and too often. It's irritating.

I also can't find a way to turn off this incessant beeping. Put a pan on the cooktop, starts beeping. Take something out of the oven and set it on the cooktop, starts beeping. Need to clean the cooktop? Yep that makes it beep too. Also, the lack of physical controls makes it a pain if the cooktop gets wet. Very difficult to change the settings if some water drips on the cooktop. That also makes the thing start beeping too.
