A stanley Kubrick classic the boot camp drill instructor played by lee ermey is one of the best acting performances giving the viewer a very good idea of what it is like to be in a marine boot camp.

Despite a muted color palate and being soft at times the movie looks better than it has before. This could be attributed to the filming locations or maybe a creative decision to capture the mood and make it seem a little more gritty...no new Atoms track, which would have been nice

This is a great film from the 80s, looks great in 4K! This is must a must have for any fan of the film! The picture quality is great!

One of my favorite movies of all time. So many daily "quotes" came out of this movie. The peace sign on one of the characters helmets shows the insanity of war. Start to finish, hard to turn away!

I was surprised watching it that I enjoyed this movie even better than when I originally saw it many years ago. That is what a clssic movie should do - get better with time.

This movie has been a favorite classic of mine. You can never get tired of watching this movie at least once a year. The Blu-ray version is a nice addition to the old favorite giving it exceptional views.

FMJ is an excellent Kubrick film. The 4K loos great and the steelbook looks great. A Must Have for Kubrick Collectors and FMJ fans.

Nothing much more to say other than its a great movie that should be seem by you a hundred times. Now it is on blu ray and that makes it that much more better. Now "GET UP, GET ON YOUR FEET".

Classic, iconic movie remastered in 4K in a well done transfer. The steelbook looks great. A great addition to any collection.

One of my favorite war movies, really brought attention to the toll that boot camp can take on a man before the new regulations.

awesome pleasing helpful, needed it for work fast and bought it now works pretty good. essential for my job needed it soon and found it cheap and reliable. convenient film for history buffs.

Beautiful steelbook & amazing Kubrick movie. The transfer is pretty good, not mind blowing but it's worth it. Definitely buy.

If you haven't seen, it's definitely worth your time. The first 30 minutes is non-stop laughter, but the war scenes later on get serious.

I've owned this on VHS, DVD, and now Bluray. If I was stranded on a deserted island this would be the one movie I would pick. Hopefully the deserted island has power, HD TV, and a Bluray player!

this is a must own for me, when i seen they realized this in 4k i had to buy it. i own the dvd bluray and now the 4k version.

Nothing more so say than this is a classic movie at an unbeatable price. It has had a huge impact on pop culture over the years, and it's fun to see where it all came from. As a bonus, R Lee Ermy!

This 3-star review is not about the movie itself (which merits a 5-star rating and is one of my favorite Stanley Kubrick films), but rather refers to the Bluray presentation. The picture is rather grainy for 1080p HD! The colors are more vibrant than the DVD version but picture is also darker. The 1.85:1 aspect ratio is also a cropped version of the 4:3 picture on the DVD, so they've cut off the top and bottom to make the picture fill a 16:9 tv: therefore, the DVD actually gives you the full frame of what was shot by Kubrick. If you must have this for your Bluray collection then you might want to get it, but if you already have the DVD you might want to stick with that unless you want the picture to fill up your widescreen tv. The picture quality isn't much better than the DVD.
