This is good product with amazing construction! Don't let the USB-C scare you. It will work with the older USB standards as well. It comes pre-formatted for the Mac so it can be used for Time Machine backups with minimal setup.

This is my second disc drive of this model because they work so well. I’ve been working them hard, reading and writing huge amounts of data, and they are reliable.

This is my fifth G-Tech Drive. The others are still in operation also. I had trouble once with a 2TB G-Tech drive and the company sent me a brand new drive when I contacted them. Great company. Good product.

I own another desktop model of the G Drive and it works great. So I decided to get the smaller version here and it has been equally great. Using it as a HDD on an Intel NUC PLEX Server that I'm running in my house. Thumbs up so far!

I bought this and a SSD external drive to back up my iMac, MB Pro, and Mac Mini. Great bargain for a reliable high capacity hard drive. I used this hard drive to back up my Macs and used the SSD to back up my photos while traveling.

This is my only backup and it works flawless with time machine for my Mac! It does run a little warm so be careful not to place anything on top of the unit. Also keep the back of the unit clear for proper air flow.

yes it works and yes it was able to back up all my drives with no issues. its always important to have your information backed up and this was a plug and play device for all my needs. no issues thus far.

Needed a new hard drive and this is such a great item. It was on sale and it looks really sharp and is very stable and has lots of memory. I would hesitate getting another.

I like g-drives. This is sleek and seems like it will last a long time. As a photographer I need multiple reliable backup systems.

G Technology products are simply the best. They last much longer than WD or Seagate drives. Just keep them turned off when not in use. They'll last years.

I bought this in a hurry to back up a short film and it works like a charm! I've always had good luck with G-drives and so far it's been pretty stellar

The product itself is great so far, however, the BEST BUY PACKAGING WAS AWFUL. The box was oversized from Best Buy without any filler so the hard drives moved around freely in the shipping box, which can easily damage the product.

Another great G-Drive for backups.. we use these all the time on Mac's, because they have great chipsets in the enclosures.. meant to be on all the time, and are great for backups especially!!

This is not a plastic device. This is a professional metallic device with a bonus. Has a built in battery to recharge your devices in case of emergency. Great device .

Works very well in our home to back up both mine and my wife's computers using Apple TimeMachine.
