Game of Thrones is a well-acted show with great sets, great costumes, great visual effects and interesting storylines with unexpected plot twists. Based upon George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of books, it's been nominated for and has won numerous awards and is, without a doubt, for mature audiences. I haven't read the books so I cannot say how strictly the show adheres to them. I have heard, however, that it is a near-faithful adaptation. Despite all of the accolades that the show has received, there are some issues which may make viewers who have never seen the show think twice before purchasing this season two set. First, there is a lot of graphic violence. While the setting of the show, a mythical land of kings and knights, dragons and dark forces, would seem to indicate that a certain level of violence is to be expected, some of it may be too intense for certain audiences. Second, there is an abundance of graphic interpersonal situations and full frontal nudity, both male and female, though more female. Third, there is a lot of vulgar language. For me, this is the biggest problem with the show. It's not that I have a problem with occasional foul language, it's that the words seem too contemporary for a show that is seemingly set in a certain era. Every time one is used, it pulls me out of that fantasy world. It breaks my "willing suspension of disbelief". Perhaps it's just me, but if they had created words, like Battlestar Galactica's FRAK or Farscape's FRELL, then I might not get that jarring feeling. Who knows. Finally, my biggest gripe is not with the show itself, but rather with the box set of the season. The season consists of 10 episodes and there are 5 discs in the set. There are only TWO episodes per disc which means that you have to get up and change the disc EVERY TWO EPISODES. This is NOT conducive to binge watching. Sure, there are extras on each disc. There are character profiles on disc 1 and behind the scenes documentaries on disc 5. Aside from the episode commentaries, however, the additional extras are the same on all discs. This could have easily been a three disc set (5 episodes on disc one, 5 episodes on disc two and all extras on disc three) but I feel that the 5 disc format is used so that more money can be charged for the box set. With that in mind, I advise waiting until it goes on sale for less than $10. All in all, I'd say that if you enjoy the fantasy genre and don't mind some adult situations, then Game of Thrones - Season Two might just be worth checking out.

I started watching this show the February before the second season aired and finished the whole first season in less than two days. Since then I have drawn in my whole family (4 people), my uncle, and 5 of my friends. The complexity of the series and the amazing actors truly make this show amazing and along with amazing special affects makes this the only TV show that actually seems like a real Hollywood movie. I myself have already seen the 2nd season but I plan on buying the season to increase the growing list of my family and friends who are now enthralled in this show. Along with the 1st season collectors edition I have a Targaryen sigil hoodie and a Baratheon sigil t-shirt. Yes this show is amazing, and yes you will be addicted if you aren't already! P.S. $35 is a bargain, when I pre-ordered mine it was $50

I really love this series. I don't normally watch tv shows or series other than sports. I began watching this show at one of my friend house. The story and acting captivated me to watch more and more until the point that it was addicting. I would stay up really late watching it even though I have work the next day. It is that good! I went ahead and bought a 65'' tv from best buy for the world cup. Then I was thinking of getting the series on blu ray to watch later on. I bought a blu ray player and ended up buying all 3 seasons from best buy. Season 4 isn't out yet. The blu ray quality of this series is exemplary. The video is outstanding. The audio is also dts-hd master so its pretty good. The only thing I can complain about is the bonus feature. You can't tell which feature is on which disc. I would have to pop in another disc at certain times if I want to see the special feature. I would give this a 2 thumbs up and recommend it to anyone who are thinking about purchasing this item.

Easily my favorite HBO series since Deadwood (which btw ended on a cliffhanger...BOO!) Anyways, what's not to like about Game of Thrones? The fantasy realm of Westeros is full of cool settings and intriguing characters and each episode manages to draw you into its world. You really get behind the characters fighting for the Iron Throne and I can't wait until Joffrey in particular gets whats coming to him! If you've watched Season 1 (and if you haven't remedy that right now) this is pretty much a no-brainer. I see that both Season 1 & Season 2 DVD Box Sets are on sale at Best Buy this week so don't hesitate!

Game of Thrones is one of my favorite TV series of all time. Season 2 is one of the best seasons. You get 7 blu-ray discs, two double sided DVD's, and one code that works with itunes and Amazon Instant, Vudu, or Flixster (Ultraviolet). The video and sound are amazing. This is a great TV show. It is entertaining, suspenseful, and brutal. It is about deceit, honor, love and betrayal. This is an entertaining series about politics and war. It has many brilliant scenes that cannot be depicted in the novels. This is a magnificent show that does justice to the books.

Like most other people, I saw the first season of GoT and was completely blown away. After watching it, I read through all the current books and eagerly awaited the release of Season 2. Luckily, it did not disappoint. Peter Dinklage is sensational as "Tyrion Lannister" and gives what should have been another Emmy winning performance. The build up to the Battle of Blackwater bay is interesting and the final battle is engrossing. I was unhappy with some of the changes in story but I do realize that some characters were cut to save time and money. Looking forward to Season 3.

I'm assuming at this point you're already familiar with the show, so my review is purely for the steelbook. It is gorgeous! Unfortunately the magnet is on the cheap side and wholly unnecessary (it would have been better if they'd embossed the case frankly) but still, if you love this show and want a nice case to show it off in this is the case for you. The only thing I don't like about it is that they haven't made one for each season yet (only the first two). A beautiful addition to any steelbook collection.

This show is amazing. I have not seen a show where I care about the characters as much as I do. The characters, locations, and dialogue is very well written. I think this is one of the (if not the) best shows on television. Once you start watching you will be hooked. Maybe not for the faint of heart (violence, fornication) but still great. The combo set that is purchased is well worth the money. You get Bluray, DVD, and digital copies. You can't go wrong with Game of Thrones.

This has become my favorite series on TV. The bluray picture and DTS-Master Audio sound are about as good as it gets in the bluray world! There are probably tons of reviews of this show with production values that look as good as a big budget movie, so I have focused on the bluray addition itself. If you are a fan, buy it! Blurays just don't get any better than this.

I was skeptical when I started watching this show. Obviously, that was silly. The show is incredible. The Blu-Ray is even better. It's probably my go-to to show off my TV. It gets better every season, and I'll be buying the season three Blu-Ray for sure. If it stays consistent, it'll be in the discussion with Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, etc. for best show ever.

Being late to get on the Game of Thrones bandwagon, I was anxious to grab the Blu-Ray of the second season. Great decision! HBO has followed up their fine release of the first season with a product more than equal to the former’s quality! Don't hesitate to pick up this great item and kick-off the next part of this epic tale.

HBO continues to put out a great product. The show is amazing as is the Blu-ray package. They continue to excel and bring the world to life on a budget that rarely hurts the show. Acting and direction remain of high quality. As the story continues to grow, the show would benefit greatly from an increase in episodes per season.

Game of Thrones in glorious 1080p HD is where it's at. TV doesn't do it justice. You get the entire season on DVD to bring with you to friends who haven't made the jump yet, and the digital copies for your tablets for when you're sitting in a doctors office. Decent Value for the price, but was better when it was released for $25.

Game of Thrones in any format is awesome! This comes in a steelbook and has a sigil magnet. Unable to try the Dolby Atmos but great for collectors.. especially if you haven't purchased the season yet. The fact that it has the digital copy of the entire season is another bonus! Highly recommended!

The first season started out a little slow but by the end of the season I was hooked! The 2nd season picks up right where it left off and is absolutely thrilling. The video and audio presentation on these Blu-Ray disc is truly reference material. The Dolby ATMOS audio is phenomenal!

My wife and I watched the first season through Netflix, unfortunately, it's not on stream. After the first show we were hooked. We don't have HBO, so we couldn't wait to buy the second season. We enjoy epic stories; Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Underworld. Give it a try, you'll be hooked!

Game of thrones second season is amazing! This is the best show on television by FAR! The shows writers go to GREAT lengths to keep the show as closely to the authors source material as possible, and it really shows. Cant wait to buy season 3 and then season 4 to air next year!

The HBO adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) is first rate and you will want to start with the first season and work your way from there. The video and audio quality are 5 out of 5 stars, which is common with HBO blu-ray releases.

This may be the best TV show ever filmed. There is a wonderful engaging cast of characters, production values are outstanding, costumes terrific. The only thing is you have to be feeling up to absorbing all there is to offer in an episode.

The commentaries on this set are fun and interesting to listen to and the special features really expand your understanding of the world, for book readers and non-book readers alike. Visual quality is top notch, like you'd expect from a blu ray set.
