Love that this show combines fantasy genre with Renaissance reminiscent elements- my two faves. Very gorey but is necessary for the storyline. Also has plenty of love stories, some very twisted, but that's the awesome part of watching fantasy-type movies. I got this set when it was on sale for less than $30, although I'm not sure what the current regular price is at the time of this review. Set was in mint new condition and the DVDs did not skip or work incorrectly. I didn't purchase the HD version because I don't have a blue ray player, I am okay with the "loss of visual quality" from HD to standard, and I don't plan on rewatching it as religiously as I do with my other DVDs. It's not a reflection on the show as it is because I'm just more of a watch-serious-movies-once type of a person.

Season 4 continues the great Game of Thrones series. GOT is the only series I regularly purchase. The storylines are dense, and I always pick up additional details from multiple viewings. Also, the varied settings are visually stunning and a joy to revisit. The video and audio qualities are excellent and among the best blu-rays I have seen. This season did not include the DVD versions as the earlier seasons did. However, I personally did not miss them--once you see this on blu-ray there's really no going back. If you haven't watched the earlier seasons, it's best to start at the very beginning. If you've made it through season 3 and enjoyed what you've seen, I highly recommend continuing on to season 4. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have left another review for the exclusive package since I double-dipped on this one. There, I have expressed my 'complaint' regarding the packaging and why HBO has decided to remove the DVDs. I would like to take the opportunity to review the fourth season here. It is absolutely amazing. Everything about Game of Thrones keeps getting better and better. Those last few episodes were stunning. I have never experiences a series like that. IQ and AQ are amazing and the transfer is great as always. I'm not sure if $35 for a release price is "fair," considering that they have removed the DVDs and that - usually - these sets were released for $30 but whatever. I just couldn't wait any longer to complete my collection and re-watch Season 4.

I don't have HBO as a part of my tv subscription, but I was seeing all of the hype about this series, so I signed up for HBO Now/Go for a free month trial. I watched through all of the seasons of Game of Thrones during the trial. All seasons are all really good. They are definitely adult only, but they have a story line that pulls you in and you can't wait to see what happens next. I'm glad I didn't have to wait for a week between episodes. I bought the BluRay sets so i can own them, and also for the special features. I may have to get HBO for a month when season 7 starts. I have preordered season 6 which comes out on BluRay in November.

With each season of Game of Thrones, the stakes get higher and the danger gets deadly. With new secrets and new obstacles this season brings it all.

You know what, I can't speak enough words of how incredible Game of Thrones is. At first, it's really hard to get into with all the nudity and obscene moments, but if you keep at it, you'll love it by the end of season 1. At least I did, and I haven't looked back since. Just started watching the show a few months ago and chain watched the entire thing up to the current on-air episode. Just buy it, and watch it. If you liked the show before season 4, then this is a must buy. If it's season 4 and you're still not a fan, then ignore it, because it doesn't change.

What can I say that has not already been said about this awesome series? Buy it, watch it, share it! It is as captivating as when it debut. You grow to love and understand all of its varied and complex characters. By this point, one begins to grasp how difficult the battle for the Iron Throne really is, and the perils that await whoever aspires to sit upon it. I came into viewing Game of Thrones after season 3. I watched all 4 series in 1 week, taking only time for work and sleep. I could not get away from my TV! Can't wait to own the other 2 commissioned seasons (5 and 6).

If you've seen the first three seasons of GOT, then you most likely don't need to be "sold" on the idea of purchasing the next round of this amazing adventure. Most fans will, just as we did, jump at the opportunity to have this next season at such a great Best Buy price! We overlooked this series for its first two seasons. Didn't know what we were missing until friends clued us in. If you haven't seen the show or perhaps only caught an occasional episode, do yourself a favor and pick up all four of the currently available, season boxed sets. You won't be disappointed!

As a reader of the series, there were certain parts I expected to see, and was hoping to be impressed by how it was presented. I was not disappointed! Specifically, the scenes where you-know-who suffers death by poisoning, and the agile southern prince fights beautifully to avenge his sister's death, as well as the fight on the Wall. Ygritte's (sp?) passing was a bit different from the book, but I actually liked it since there were some heart-tugging words exchanged. Just a powerful season all in all. Never mind the politics, there is a whole lot more to enjoy here!
